In the first pic my driveway is on the left. Now seriously. Why would someone come down this street? And why would someone park in my driveway. What would you expect to happen here? I let creepy metal detector guy look in my yard the other day because the circus used to park on the road behind me and there's lots of old bottles from the twenties that wash up in the woods. He was in my backyard for an hour then split because he saw a panther and got scared. This is why I'm a little crazy. I can't understand what kind of person would be lurking around here.

I wouldn't pull a shotgun to scare someone.
I have a 38 S&W, a couple of shotguns, and a couple of rifles.
In general my philosophy is that you should never put your hands on a weapon unless you are going to use it, and when you use it, you shoot to kill.
Keep in mind that the second you walk out there with a gun, that the other party can reasonably reply with deadly force. Maybe you didn't see their friend sitting in the car, a lot can go wrong.

That said, in your situation I would do a few things:

1. Put a spike/nail strip to cut off access to your area. If you want to cause damage you can conceal it well.

2. If you have a night problem, get motion activated lights that when tripped will shine brightly right at the car.

3. As for the Greek problem, there are several different ways to make things happen. The slowest is the legal system. I'm not advocating felony assault/grevious bodily harm, rather some creative ways of making the house an undesirable place for anyone to stay.

For the people who say Americans are paranoid, well you're kind of right, but some of us have a reason to be. I'm guessing that El Mech lives in an area where there maybe a fair amount of hard-drug users and possibly crime.

I can relate, I live in a pretty decent sub-division neighborhood, but I'm the last street, before it turns into a dirt road and heads towards a wooded area where there are a bunch of trailers. Well this "wooded area" is full of scummy people, meth heads, heroin junkies, etc.

Often these tweekers will be roaming through the neighborhood, a lot of times they are looking for easy targets to rip off. Mech said he had a nice mountain bike and fishing poles ripped off, basically where I live if you leave anything of value unguarded in plain site it will get stolen.

Furthermore, while it isn't a very common occurance, home invasion robberies do happen around here. Break-ins are more frequent then full on armed home invasion, but if the wrong people suspect that you're selling drugs, or even are well to do financially and have expensive things, they might start plotting against you.

So yeah, with that in mind, it's not too far fetched to be a little paranoid, when random unexpected visitors appear at your door. That's why if I'm not expecting someone, I don't answer the door. Basically anyone who knows me, knows my phone number, and they know to call me before they drop by.

My dad has a camera set up on his timber. He doens't hunt, but likes to watch the deer and make sure no one hunts.

I've fired firearms and if I lived in the states I would own one.

I'm no gun nut but I believe in the right to defend yourself and your property.

A man's home is his castle, anyone who steps over that line is fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Nothing paranoid about wanting to protect yourself and your family. I think the idea's re the signs etc are good and installing some closed circuit type of security so you can be on overwatch.

If you give people fair warning and all available opportunity to get out of there and they still want to fuck with you, then it's on.

Yeah Panthers. Where do you think they live? I watched one jump off my roof the other night from my bedroom. I have giant woodpeckers here too that like to smash into my windows when they see their reflections.

I worry about cameras because I would watch them all day and start driving here to fuck with people I see on them from work. I do have 3 motion flood lights. This shit happens in the morning too. Someone was banging on my door at 7:45 the other day looking for a house. Our mailboxes are on the main road and it's hard to see our house numbers. Also there's 5 roads with the same name here. There's a north, south, east and mine is NW.

Having lived most of my life in rural areas, I can appreciate your unease when confronted with strangers on your property. The more "out there" you get, the sensitive you become. When you live in an apartment complex, your brain goes into a default mode for living in an area with a high population density, and you expect to see lots of strangers roaming around your personal space. If your brain didn't work this way, you'd drive yourself crazy.

As you remove yourself from the beaten path, and get into an environment that's more peaceful and quiet, disturbances stick out like a sore thumb. In an apartment complex cars and people come and go all day long. Out here on the farm, people don't come down these country roads unless they've got a good reason, and unexpected visits from strangers always arouse suspicions.

It sounds like you're in an odd environment where your kind of off the beaten path, but at the same time, right in the middle of things.

At a certain point, unless you can somehow see things turning around and getting better, you need to think about moving, for the sake of your kid at least. Your kid will eventually be going to school with the kids of the shitty neighbors and crack heads who roam around your house.

And I can relate. These kids knocked on my dorm room trying to prank me at 3 AM. I death gripped his arms and stared at him to make sure he got the message. They then apologized. Kindness stops past midnight man. I don't like people knocking on my door because they obviously want something from me.

Do what you can to spread the message that your house is yours and yours only. Fences, dogs anything. Tell people who attend your crib to call before going down your spot.

I dealt with people coming on my land for years, so I understand the frustration.

My house in on the beach so I get tourists and beach goers wandering. I also happen to live in an area infested with meth addicts, so they're a problem too. The ice heads stole shit, and the beach people though that everything I own was theirs to borrow.

The only way to totally eliminate the problem is to fence off everything completely. That's it.

I tried everything possible. There's an area down the road that has big events every now and then. Those days were the worst. I went so far as to hire a few guys to look out for my shit, which worked, but I didn't want them around all the time.

Living out in the woods I definitely go on high alert if someone knocks on my door. Thing is, they knock on the downstairs door while I look out the main level windows to see who the fuck it is (I can only see what they are driving as they are out of sight below the deck). I rarely answer as anyone I know is going to call before showing up. If I feel like seeing what the hell they want I walk out on the deck above them.

Blew off a cop before even. Apparently he was looking for the nutjob bitch I was seeing briefly as I heard nothing from them afterwards.

No one has ever stopped at night, but I have had bears at my front door before. Motion lights seem to have taken care of that. Surprising a bear in the middle of the night is not something I want to do...

This time of year I can't even see my neighbors through the trees and they are; a retired couple, a veterinarian and his family, and a vacation home for a couple from Chicago. So no problems from them. 10 cars a day, if that, drive by. Nice and quiet just the way I like it.

As far as the pimped out caddy's on 24's, have them towed to your shop and charge em for it. That should solve that problem.
