Being an Alpha has nothing to do with beta'ing women or keeping them subjugated, or feeling safe only when they're held down. Being an Alpha has EVERYTHING to do with being an Alpha even when women are free to do as they please.

In fact that's been they're main cry all along, whether they were conscious of it or not. "Don't keep us downtrodden just so you can feel safe not manning up and actually BEING men."

There will always be strong headstrong chicks. Their very existence shouldn't piss you off. There'll be girls that can bench more than you and still look like barbies. It happens believe me. There are girls that are super levelheaded and decisive. How Alpha you are depends on how well you maintain YOURSELF at all times, whether they are present or not.

Well stannis left Melissandre the witch back at dragonstone...due to Devos didn't like the witch or her dark magic, I guess davos the onion knight thought it was dirty...oh pooh....


Also It would be to easy....and the story would be boring...

In reality Stannis would of use the dark magic and use magic it like it was Secretariat.

It is very possible that, had Melissandre been there, the battle would have gone differently because of her numerous powers over fire and magical fire (which wildfire is, since dragons being present in the world enhances its creation). However, Stannis followed his advisors (and pride) which told him that if he won while Melissandre was present, she would always be considered the one who won the kingdom for him. Who knows? It's an intriguing possibility.

I believe Melissandre was left back because Stannis' saga is still way to go, they surely can't get rid of such a powerful pretender in one episode no matter how awesome it was. Also this last episode (albeit the lack of boobies being flashed around) confirms one thing... to put it briefly: GOT is da shyt.

I especially dug when they chopped the guy's head in half and then that other guy on a diagonal. Reminds me of really bad horror movies. I just screamed GOOOOOOREEEEEE.

"I realized my king was a pussy who can't fight a war for shit so I took out half of a much larger army with some crazy tactics involving burning them all alive. Then when my king left to cry to mommy I led the entire army to fuck shit up. I was killing dudes 4x my size. Oh and I'm banging this foreign chick, she was a pro, I don't know if it counts. Anyways was this beta?"

Melissandre is quite limited in what she can do. Not to give away more of the story to those who haven't read the books. but that seems to be how the author views "magic". It's there, but has a nasty tendency to bite the user in the ass. So in the books, the wizards and demons are kept at a minimum.
Yeah, that hellfire attack was awesome. I reminded me of a low-yield nuclear blast.
