Any cigarette smokers out there looking for a much less harmful alternative ? ?

Well, I decided to give up the butts since they were making me feel like garbage and thought I'd try some Snus . . Swedish Snus . (Not camel or marlboro, that shits crap)




According to recent studies about Snus from Sweden , it is the safest tobacco alternative . There have been no studies that have concluded that it causes any type of cancer, and for that matter, does not cause any health problems whatsoever . . Since Sweden has launched it's "Harm Reduction" campaign (getting smokers to snus instead) , the rates of oral cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, and tobacco related cancers in general have significantly dropped . In fact, Sweden now has the lowest rate of oral and lung cancer in Europe at the moment .

The Sweds pasteurize the tobacco to the point that nearly all of the carcinogens are wiped out of the product making it just as cancerous as a cup of coffee . The Snus is so pure that they are able to pass it as a food product in Sweden .

I have tried the General Mint Snus which is imported and manufactured by the Swedish Match company . It tastes great, satisfies my nicotine cravings and is a hell of a lot better than Dip or something of that sort .
The price is a bit similar to cigarettes , but in my opinion it's worth it until I fully stop nicotine all together . The tobacco comes in little pouches that you just pop under your lip . . Each pouch, in the regular portioned size, pack 8mg of nicotine - quite a lot for it's size . . There's no spitting involved , unless you salivate a lot, and the flavor can last for hours .

I'd recommend it to anyone who is trying to stop smoking and wants something less harmful than butts . I'd like to see if anyone else on here knows about it .

One word of warning though, if you aren't careful about oral hygiene. It might stain your teeth. Of course you'll have the same issue with smoking.

I am not well versed on cigarettes, but how can they be significantly different if they still have so much nicotine? I thought that the whole point of making smoking less harmful is to remove nicotine, "tar" and other stuff.

Ha. 7/10 Swedish girls mouths taste of snus on the weekends. So many times a surprise kiss has lead a girl to back off for a second in order to take out her snus.

I agree that it works great. I still prefer a smoke, but use snus for work and travel (train, plane, etc).

I use snus for travel constantly, and I've noticed one area through anecdotal evidence where snus are MUCH preferred to smoking: the boner test.

It's been shown that excess smoking (tobacco, pot, herbals) can actually lead to significantly decreased blood flow to your member. At first I didn't think anything of this, but a long term gal told me I looked and felt much bigger one night out of the blue, and it correlated to me switching from 2 packs a day to 1/2 pack + snus. It was later confirmed by another gal who I've been with for years -- I definitely appear longer and feel girthier to her.

Can't beat the "hard" science.

Because nicotine is the active chemical, not the carcinogenic chemical.

Yeah definitely a university drinking thing. I wondered if it had anything to do with winter time and not wanting to smoke outside in the cold.

I'm currently in Sweden, and using snus. Also used it last time I was here. The authorities come across as corrupt to ban snus in other EU countries, if Sweden has the lowest lung cancer rates, thanks to snus. I'm also surprised that people aren't protesting more for legalizing snus in other EU countries. The most obvious reason seems that they are protecting their cigarette tax income.

How does it compare to https://zyn.com/home/questions ? It started popping up at local convenience stores in my area about a year ago. I really like the cool mint 6mg and the cinnamon 6mg. This Svensktsnus stuff looks even better, more authentic. Only downside would be that it would have to be shipped.[/align]

Used it excessively for years. If you haven't started yet, don't.
If you are already a smoker, go for it.

Nicotine (like caffeine, theobromine, same class of substances) is a natural pesticide, evolved by plants like cacao trees, coffee plants etc. They do have mutagenic (cancer promoting) effects on their own. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4553893/

Also many other downsides with nicotine, like inhibiting the enzyme that degrades DHT. In other words, it plays a role in male pattern baldness, prostate growth and cancer, hirsutism, acne etc.
