Batangueno girls are my favorite Filipinas. The higher classness makes them not so hard wired to rip you off or want to marry you and what not. They're probably the least likely to blow you just to get a bottle of water. A lot of girls from Batangas come to Hawaii for school.

Did you dive at Anilao?

How about balut? Did you get one down?

Out of all the Filipinas I chatted with from dateinasia only 1 asked for money and I deleted and blocked her promptly.

Nobody's eating balut? I guess that's one thing they keep from the caucasians. When I go there everybody's pushing it on me???

I forgot about Batangas City. That is a good place. I was in Manila, Cebu and Boracay maybe 6 months ago, and thought maybe that was my last trip to PI. Both places were just too dirty. Batangas City, though was that Philippine president who's wife had all the shoes' personal vacation area. I dove and looked around at Anilao and recall that being a real life aquarium. There's lots of spots like that over there, but you get out of the water with some strange infection.

Like the Starducks's, Anilao has a hotel called Outrigger Anilao, which is fantastic. Funny thing is it wasn't in any way associated with the Outrigger hotel chain we have here in Hawaii.

I was in Palawan maybe 5 years ago, and that could be a fun place. Puerto Princessa has some dirty dirty bars with some shady characters hanging around. I'd watch it.

On my last trip I fished but left from Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, but we took the boat north almost to Quezon. The water was perfect the whole way there, and I bet it would be all good to swim anywhere on the South China Sea side. We got bad feedback about fish/water quality on the Sulu side.

Hawaiian Airlines has great deals from Honolulu to Manila right now, and I'm thinking of heading over there in about a month.

Despite all that We still love America...because America gave the Philippines its Independence which make them cool in our books (plus the American Dream Horse shit that is constantly bombarded in my culture!) but that's all past. Plus, We use to be a Rich Country and a lot of Non-Filipinos used to study at our Prestigious Universities because we're competent in speaking english...until fucking Marcos ruin it for us. You bet your ass that the CIA is somewhat involved in that horse shit just like what happened in Chile.

Kona- Yes in Liaya San Juan where I was at the water was beautiful and very clear...little fish would swim right up to the edge, shells were everywhere, and at low tide there would be these sea urchins stranded with luminiscent colorings, we'd carefully toss them back in the water.

Lovechild- Kumasta? You have a lot to be proud of, the Philippines has wonderous natural scenery and a hard-working, educated people..I see things getting better there in the future. Also Eskrima and Arnis which I studied here in America for some years, are TOTALLY under-rated, they are some of the most practical martial arts systems ever. I love how they teach stick, sword, knife and combat angles all at once.

At least economically...it's getting better but the politics and other flaws in my culture...that will never change that 's why I have a Love and Hate relationship with my culture in the Philippines.

Cool man! I know some of the basics of Lightning Scientifiic Arnis. Learned it by myself on some dvd. The Attack & Blocks is easy...it's just combination drills that will take sometime to master.

I'm envious that you got some years on studying Eskrima and Arnis! What style did you study?

If you got some years then you've got enough skills to protect, survive...basically to kickass when you somebody is messing with you.

Filipino Martial Arts practitioners are not to be messed with. And I'm not just saying it because I'm Filipino. I've observed other martial arts and our weapons mentality type of mindset give an edged compare to other martial arts. And also you're right about the practicality! Filipino Ingenuity...I guess?

The style was a hybrid style of Eskrima and Arnis taught by Master at Arms James Keating. His system was whatever worked with it's core training and combat lines from Arnis and Eskrima. Along with modern pistol, boxing, Jeet Kun Do, Wing Chung and various military styles. The training was very weapons intensive as that was his focus, and he also revived the old America Bowie Style (Big Knife) fighting, which was a great add on to the Arnis.

I think Black Males would do fine in the Philippines, while you might not get eye-fraked AS hard, they'll still be receptive. Cruise the malls and you can't fail.

I also think due to the mix of the Filipino population they are pretty receptive to everyone. Especially if your a fit, under 50 Foriegner. Find out online first. Put up a simple profile on http://www.dateinasia.com as it's free and there are TONS of filipinas on there looking for guys. That way you have some "guides" for your trip there.

Here's a tip from me for travelers headed to your country, Lovechild:

If you get sick and Mindanao Sanitarium in Iligan City is the nearest hospital, don't go to the back of the building by the loading docks. The piles of dead people on the ground are separated by children and adults. It's rather disturbing. On top of that it's really dangerous around there. I had to deliver some medical crap to those docks during OEF-P. After I left some cool dudes from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (thats right, the M.I.L.F.) shot me in the arm. It hurt. The shitty part was I just had to go in the front door of the hospital I knew just threw the dead people out back.

Alright thanks man. I had always hoped that at the very least there would be some novelty(I assume blacks there are relatively uncommon as compared to white and asian tourists) and that would help when it came to getting a girl. Maybe the whole hip hop culture thing to, though I don't know how prevalent that is in the Philippines.

I'll definitely do the online thing though before going, that seems like a pretty safe strategy.

I am going to Manila/Makati from Friday until the following Wednesday. I would travel around more but it is sort of (but not really) for work and I also have to attend an alumni conference there.

Is anyone in Manila right now?

Also, isn't there some great online dating site I should hit up before I go? Was it dateinasia.com?

how's Boracay in the offseason? Still a decent place to pick up locals or are there better options? Looking for a place with outdoor activities at the beach and available tail to chase...any suggestions? Should be there about 2 weeks in August or September.

I was in Boracay in Off-season and it was GREAT!!!
It's laid back and picking up locals is not a problem...
Boracay is small enough so becoming a "butterfly" can get you in trouble.
2 weeks is LOADS of time. If you're looking activities, this is the perfect place to get trained in kite-surfing.

Enjoy Boracay, I rate it as my favourite place in all of South East Asia!

i was there off season too and its easy to bang local chicks

2 weeks is too much tho and kite-surfing is way better in dom rep
