I have a question... how often do you guys force yourselves to make the correct move when you would naturally make the wrong one?

For example most times when I get a girl's number (during the day usually) I'll want to message her that night or the day after but I force myself to wait two days. Then I force myself to take at least as long as she took to respond to my text though I usually see the text right away and know what I'm going to say.

I know the true answer is inner game and a busy lifestyle where I'm so busy I don't check my phone/okcupid/email or whatever too often so I'll naturally take a while to respond back to chicks.

This is just an example though, I know most things you do to improve your game don't come naturally at first but after awhile they become automatic. This is one thing that hasn't been the case for me, I have to keep reminding myself to do this and the few times I think I can start breaking the "rules" I get stuck playing with my hand.

Most approaches need to be "forced." It's usually not a very natural thing to walk up to a random girl and start a conversation, especially during the day. How often do you really need to ask a stranger where to find the nearest pet store (let alone stand there and ramble after you get your answer)?

I don't really do that though... once I started a conversation asking if the girl was jewish after seeing her Star of David pendant, another time it was 8PM and I asked her if she was going out to party, another one I asked her where she went to party for saint patricks day.

I forced myself a bit sure but I was also genuinely curious... I guess I've been able to make being chatty and talking to strangers something natural and not forced, but I haven't been able to do it with the phone issue.

Yeah but if they were ugly would you have bothered talking to them? My point is that there's nothing wrong with doing something you wouldn't otherwise do in order to get laid. If correct text game doesn't come naturally to you, just ignore that feeling and do what you know is the right thing.

If you do it enough, the behavior will probably start to come naturally anyway. I used to want to respond to any text from a girl immediately, but now my first reaction is usually "meh, I'll deal with this later" and go back to whatever I was doing.

I totally feel you on this one Riker. I get really bad with text/computer/whatever. I like seeing immediate results so I have to stop myself a lot of the time from texting something or replying to a dumb text. I also force myself to make the conversation more sexual and do more kino. I think its just part of learning the game.

always. while sometimes you can get away with playing loose, we are procedurally oriented gamesmen not children with new toys. just make the right play.

i have rules about this sort of thing. if i see an opening, I say my hook once in my head to ensure i can deliver it slowly and clearly, then I just get in there. it has nothing to do with 'i want to have sex with this person' and just a rule that ensures i ALWAYS make the play, even if its a married woman, a dude, an old lady, whatever. you play how you practice.
