The kids believe it for some period of time...a year, a decade, whatever...but eventually they figure out that the whole process was designed to give mom her freedom to ABANDON her kids and run off and have fun doing the Eat Pray Love routine. Dad will continue to be buried in work and won't have time for them.

Their family has already been a difficult one because of the riches and fame, but at least they could cling to their memories of mom and dad and fun times. Now those memories, every single one of them, will be revealed as lies. Everything happy or meaningful about their childhood will now be revealed as a lie.

Because Mom decided to fuck them over. Oh, and down deep in her heart mom knows exactly what she is doing. What she is doing is no different than the woman who locked her kids in a van and drove the all into a lake to commit suicide. She hates her kids and the fact that Jeff has gotten all the glory while she's been stuck at home. Now she's getting revenge by destroying them all.

This is one of the few cases where, absent any other information, I have to guess he was the one who initiated it.

This happens pretty frequently when husbands wildly surpass their wives in SMV, usually due to his status. Either he is permitted to quietly pursue affairs/girlfriends/escorts, or they split up.

Elon Musk, Chris Pratt, and many others have followed this pattern, and immediately started dating women decades younger once they split up with their first wife.

I do agree that the children will be permanently damaged, especially once they see their parents with other people.

Edit: Looking at this picture of them, she has clearly attempted to stay attractive. Super toned arms, high and firm breasts, reasonably pretty face, and she is in her 50s. Jeff just couldn't resist the unbelievable top shelf poon he will no doubt get to enjoy for the rest of his life.

Well Lemon to be fair here, based on what I've read, we don't really know who initiated the divorce. Bezos just put out a statement, stating that they have decided to divorce. with no indication as to who initiated it. Now I know since about 70% of women initiate divorces, there is a good chance that she filed for it,but it is entirely possible that Bezos initiated it. Also, he gave her credit for supporting him during the lean years of Amazon and stated that she did the accounting in the first year of Amazon. Now I'm not saying she deserves half of his assets and I agree that if she decided to blow up the marriage, she should get less but unless she was having an affair, I think she needs to be compensated. I think anyone who blows up their marriage for no good reason other than "they're not happy" should have to pay a price in getting less money (or paying more in the case of the male). Look there's plenty of guys here who fuck around on their wives with zero remorse and if their wives found out and divorced them as a result, could you blame the wives? Yet when you tell these guys that what they're doing isn't right and it may blow up on them, they get all defensive and declare how unfair it is that they are being judged for their poor behavior. Really bad divorce rapes happen when a wealthy man marries a woman and can't keep her spending under control during the marriage.

She keeps buying expensive but worthless trinkets, consumables, and experiences and the couple's net worth falls, or barely increases. Then she leaves with a "her half" including premarital assets and the man's best years gone.

On the one hand, there's plenty of blame for men in these situations, but, on the other hand, they are clearly mistreated by the legal system.
