These are called repositioning cruises, and they occur at the end or beginning of a season. The ship makes fewer stops so its like a long road trip. They are heavily discounted.

But realize that European cruises don't originate in the U.S., they originate in Europe. So not every cruise will give you this opportunity. The opportunity for these repositioning cruises is once or twice a year.

Another related concept is working as a distinguished gentlemen. If you are over 40 (55 for some lines) and can ballroom dance, you can get hired as a social host by the cruise line.

The cult itself is slowly dying in numbers after being exposed, but it's an even bigger financial juggernaut because of it's ability to do so much real estate business without paying taxes.

I know I'm going Way off track right now, but I'm really fascinated by a lot of the things L Ron Hubbard was able to get away with over the years. And Scientology didn't just pop out of nowhere, L Ron Hubbard was a member of the Ordo Templi Orientis chapter in Los Angeles and a second generation student of Aleister Crowley. Since I have a dog, I was looking into taking one to Puerto Rico. From what I read, the issue is leaving the ship at Colombia and not returning to the ship when it leaves. I don't really know what they can do about it if you leave but something to check out nevertheless.

Why would you pay thousands of dollars for a cruise ship cabin and a weeks worth of boring sea-days to get to South America???? A one way ticket from anywhere would cost far less and be way way quicker.

Additionally the port authority would wonder why you have bags. No one usually leaves ship with more than a small daypack. Cruise ships do leave without people if they’re late. It’s a huge hassle that inconveniences thousands of passengers and crew while they try to locate you.

I’ve seen the procedure and it’s a huge headache for everyone. It’s not inconspicuous. You’re identity will be given to the local police so they can make sure you’re not in a ditch somewhere. Your emergency contacts also get notified you’re missing.

Not personally, but I live in Vancouver so all the Alaskan and BC inside passage cruises that are based here move to the Caribbean for the winter. As they finish up their summer Alaskan tours, they stop here for a couple days and then make their way down the west coast and through Panama.

I know a fair amount of people that take advantage of the Vancouver - San Diego leg. It can be cheaper than a flight, a friend payed $230 for the trip. She is kinda cheap and got an inside room, but for an extra $60 she could have had a balcony.

Friends took their three kids on the Disney ship last year at the end of the season, stayed with her family in SoCal and then flew back. They said its amazing for families, there are kids activities all day and evening so they could do adult things. Mostly just day drink and fuck, but that's huge if you have three kids.

Art auctioneer is a complete scam of a job. You'll lie to people all day and all night, and unless you make a big sale or a couple of decent sales, there is no way you're walking away with $4000 in a month. If you don't sell, you don't earn. Period.

Also, if you're staff and you hook up with any guest and get caught, you are fired immediately.

What you'll have is your pick of overweight 4's that are getting the attention that an 8 would usually get. Yes, there are some show dancers but usually they are very young and scooped up by officers within a few days of them arriving, if they're not already coupled up when they get there.

It's not a place to get pussy as an employee. I'm not saying it's impossible, but you are likely going to punch down, if you can get anything at all.

I'm not being negative, I am just stating facts. Selling art on a cruise ship is a suckers job, and if you are staff, you will get fired if you hook up with a guest. Maybe if you're connected enough you could get away with it on some cruise lines, but those days are over as far as I'm concerned.

The gentlemen's hosts you are referring to are also a dying position. Almost every cruise line that I know of has eliminated that position or has never even had it.

The ones that still do cater to the very old crowd. I'm talking one foot in the grave old.

I'm not the judgemental sort, if one is into geriatric sex, that is one's prerogative.

I'm talking specifically about working on a cruise ship here. There are plenty of cruise lines that do cater to a younger party crowd, there are swingers cruises, there are all types of shenanigans you can get up to if you're a passenger.

If you already live in the port of departure you may get a good deal on an Unfilled cabin. Keep in mind the advertised price is per person. So you pay double if going alone. The single supplement is usually almost the same as an extra person. Then there are all the extras that add to the cost. Particularly booze.

Cruises are a good deal if you want a bit of luxury while visiting islands or coastal ports. Sometimes like with alaska cruises it is actually way cheaper to cruise than trying to do the same itinerary on your own. Especially if you stop by the glacier bay or want to see northern lights at night.

Those job descriptions are hilarious. 99 percent of cruises are old fatties. As an employee they’re off limits anyway. It’s not the love boat. They have cameras everywhere. Maybe you get lucky and hookup with a dancer or other staff member.

The gentleman companions are paid to dance talk and keep company with geriatric women. It’s not even worth discussing here. Unless maybe you are trying to run some sort of inheritance/marriage scam??

I just booked a 20+ day cruise....

I don't think its going to be a solid bang mission cause I aint into banging grannies. But I've never been on a cruise at this one ends in a dope location in South America so its just a creative way to get down there. Plus it stops at exotic places along the way that I would probably never go to outside of this cruise.

Cruise ships can be good, if you have a bit of luck with the other guests. Sure, most of them will be old, but sometimes there are a couple of cute girls doing a family trip or something.

You can meet them in the ship's casino or disco. The good thing is, that cruise ships usually don't provide internet access, hence girls aren't glued to their smartphones.

The last time I did a 7-day cruise with my family in the mediterran sea, I didn't bang but at least got 3 make-outs with really cute girls. Better than nothing.

I did a 16 day cruise on a Cunard line and spent almost all my free time in the ships library. The librarian was an amazing wealth of knowledge and he even let me look through some ship logs from 100 years ago. There were books on the Titanic and ships like the Britannia, captains logs, etc. The library was a two story affair with spiral staircase and port windows looking out and the most comfortable reading chairs ever.

I still say that I will book another cruise with them just to sit in that library again to read and drink scotch.

Now that budget airlines are open to the Azores there’s not much point in cruising out of south Florida unless you want to disconnect, relax, and enjoy luxury.

I’ve banged cute young girls on cruises but it’s hit or miss and can be really awkward. On cruises I usually want to get into a healthy regimen, read, relax, and do my own thing 99% of the time.

This includes the ports of call where I don’t want a girl weighing me down since you have very limited time. I guess if I was crazy about a girl I’d feel different. I just found it annoying to run into them (and their entire families) everyday and night.

I also ask for my own table so I don’t have to make akward conversation with old people. So what did you do today? A lot of them don’t even bother going into port. Ughhh.

I wonder how the cruise industry will adapt to boomers dying. My favorite cruise line finally started allowing designer jeans to be worn at dinner.
