It's a great place to live. It says so on the sign. In fact it says that picture was taken by Stan Alexander, whose name leads me to believe he's the whitest son of a bitch around.

I've been to Portland. The only minorities I saw were working at the indian casino, so you should be a-ok.

For those who suggest Scottsdale, keep in mind that its not a standalone small town, but just a nice, happening suburb of Phoenix. Maricopa County, which is pretty much all of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, is only 55% white. And it is already solidly purple at 45% Democratic in the 2016 elections. The state of Arizona itself is also purple.

Its a decent choice if OP wants to be in a major metropolitan area and all the amenities that go along with it, but if OP just wants a white, conservative area, there are much better choices out there.

Be careful with Washington state and Oregon. While there are many places in those states that fit your criteria currently, they are dominated politically by Seattle and Portland respectively along with massive influx of Californians and are both rapidly transforming into California without the nice weather. If you like that part of the country, Idaho is probably a safer bet long-term.

Seconded. Also, next to Gilbert, AZ is Chandler and Ahwatukee(a neighborhood of Phoenix but almost unlike any other phoenix neighborhood).

I'm actually serious. It has a white majority, white men run the town. It's Texas so liberal gun laws. Good interweb access. It's outside of Ft. Worth so good air and water supply. Mild winters. Not sure about crime.

Other places that might pique your interest: Gun Barrel City, Texas.

Word. There are many conservatives in these states that live out in the boondocks, but the big leftist cities dictate state policy. Washington state just passed some very awful gun control bills. I would advise against moving there if you care about the 2nd Amendment.

I was under the impression that those Southwest states have been in a constant state of drought for about 20 years.

I know that at least New Mexico has.

It is nice to have that desert air and mild winters, but without water, well, you already know.

If I were going to settle in the Southwest I would do a deep dive in researching the fragility of their infrastructure. How do they get their water, electricity, and natural gas. Would suck to get all settled just to find out that a few years of low snowpack and water has to be trucked in.

I have thought about somewhere like Coeur d'Alene, and my only reservations would be if it was too redneck for me or not, and if I could handle heavy snow every year.

Some pretty good houses for 300,000 or less.

Water quality is about what you'd expect in the desert, filter it to your taste, but so far, Arizona has avoided imposing the restrictions you see in California. California has historically been stealing water from upstream allocations but has been backing down fast before the federal government steps in and will be in a real bind, where Arizona did a lot of aggressive pre-planning for this by comparison. There's some beautiful lakes and rivers to go play on near the city (look up Saguaro Lake and the Salt River). I've been out there on what are considered bad air quality days and didn't notice, but it's still a big city.

Scottsdale and the Phoenix metro has grown exponentially in the last few decades, what used to be open desert is now the Airpark corridor, a busy biotech hub. What used to be rural pig farms in Gilbert is now a quarter of a million people, too. Scottsdale is stocked with blonds of all ages like a hunting preserve. Generally gets wealthier and quieter as you go north from Old Town and then out past the Airpark toward DC Ranch/Grayhawk.

Since you mentioned the boonies, Cave Creek or Fountain Hills are further out - first one is more of an eccentric biker/cowboy scene, second is quieter and retirement-oriented. Both tend to mean a lot of trips into Scottsdale for amenities. Further up in the mountains there's Prescott/Prescott Valley, quieter small city with pine forests, cooler in the summer because of the elevation and you get a little winter snowfall, you'd have all the basics of town life there if you don't care about being close to the city.

Summer's hot as hell, but it really is a dry heat. If you're buying a place, just build a pool chiller into your budget and pick a property where the sun sets on the far side and shades the pool first. If you're fixed for $3k/mo, you shouldn't have any trouble finding options, even a little horse farm in Fort McDowell could be a possibility.

Provo was actually high on my list but the problem there is intermittent horrible air quality during winter due to inversion (similar to Santiago de Chile).

Obviously in terms of weather most of those places suck except maybe AZ. You may have noticed that this list does not feature a single place from CA, as the whitest city there is Roseville with a percentage of Whites of 69.6% - just below my threshold.

Portland, OR is on the list but I'm obviously not seriously considering this one and Eugene would be a much better choice.

And In case you wonder, I am not racist and the first criteria listed is merely a self defense measure. Given what's going on in the U.S. right now with recurring attacks on Whites and conservatives I have very little appetite for exposing myself or my loved ones to that sort of risk. And the best strategy for avoiding to become a victim is to position yourself out of harm's way.

This is a big community, so any serious and helpful insights on the various locations listed would be appreciated.

Generally speaking I think a good chunk of America's "exurban" areas could fit your criteria as well (in addition to some of those college town type places listed). You might be about 50, 60 miles or more out from a mid-sized or larger city, but at least you'd be commutable from a decent airport from a lot of America's exurban towns. Even from a city like Detroit you'd be surprised at how white the population is once you get deep into the exurbs lol. Michigan is very gun friendly with a hunting culture that is quite thriving up towards the Northern ends of the state & the Upper Peninsula. Matter of fact if you want to check out a smaller city in Northern Michigan maybe have a look at Traverse City. This is its own independent small city (not an exurb at all). White folk are over 94% of the population & the area is super scenic (on Lake Michigan in the Northwestern part of mainland Michigan). One of the biggest drawbacks, however, is that it is cold as balls in the winter lol. Nasty lake effect snow & bone chilling temperatures. But hey if you're the hardy type it just might be paradise. Wealthier folks from the Detroit & Chicago metropolitan areas love to visit & obtain vacation properties in the area as well.

I'm not well known in the US, but Montana looks pretty damn good to me as a place a white man might find some solace.

Looking at pics from there strikes me with the good kind of melancholy, you've got your open grasslands as far as the eye can see, but you also have your majestic mountains and cold blue rivers.

Don't know about that Billings town tho, though it is the whitest of the bunch, which probably affirms me instant reaction to Montana being good for the European soul.

I'd say downstate IL.

Even though the recent election has never made me so disgraced and sickened by my fellow IL residents, it's a different universe from Cook County and the Peoples Republic of Chicago the further south you go. Throw a dart at any county south of Springfield, and you'd be set. Bonus points if you find somewhere along the Mississippi River, which just has a special aura around it.

Once I stack the cash I need I will more than likely be pulling the trigger on Chicago. Which pains me since my grandparents made their bones here and I have lots of family here. But I feel like I'm behind enemy lines everywhere I go.

It's getting bad here, and it will only get worse when the next minority becomes mayor.
