One of my blue-pill boomer work colleagues has been moaning that the Dr Who plot is terrible. For him as a long-time viewer to say that it must really be bad. But it's hard to have sympathy for people that spend their free-time watching such junk. His missus is probably wearing the trousers there.

I guessed the series might be in ratings trouble by the appearance of bus stop ads featuring Jodie Whittaker. It rankles that the TV license fee is used for advertising not that I pay it.

The Eccleston series was the only one I watched and I enjoyed it, but I've never watched the show before or since.

I was able to gauge the healthy of the show with the number of scenes that were upload by fans. I recall I have nothing significant from Capbaldi's and current iteration of Doctor. It quite sad when I think about it, many franchises run into the ground for dopamine boost by those in control.

The SJW has always been strong in nuWho has it not, given that it was launched by RT Davies who brought us Captain (pansexual) Jack Harkness who at one point kissed The Doctor. But we knew things were going gay when they dropped Tainted Love into an episode.

I really don't know what the target demo is for nuWho but at its peak it seemed to be female teens who were into the metrosexualism of David Tennant and Matt Smith. Since those female teens are probably now in gender studies at university I suppose the show is just tracking them along the way to "busting the patriarchy".

I have to admit I never followed the Capaldi tenure but I really thought casting an old white dude that can't function as pubescent teen girl masturbatory material was a step in the right direction, before the blackwashing virtue-signaling which seems to be an epidemic at the BBC.

Doctor Who at this point is sort of a pop culture football which is passed from SJW to SJW to be used as a soapbox more than a real sci-fi show. It is in no way like the original show which was mostly a more stagey and cerebral equivalent of Flash Gordon serials, complete with cliffhangers.

Love Tom Baker but, IMHO, Pertwee era was the best. He portrayed the Doctor as sort of paternal and gentlemanly 007 type. In more than one episode he gets into a fist-fight. That kind of thing is unthinkable today.

The problem with female protagonists in tv and movies in the <current year> is that there's is basically only the Mary Sue that sticks it to men trope.

Nuanced characters with a plausible back story and realistic flaws make for engaging viewing. You go girl (in space!) characters are boring and unbelievable.

The sjw mob will only accept females without flaws who can do everything a man can do. And much more besides due to her superior ability to cooperate with others.

Decent characters like the aforementioned Ripley are a thing of the past, never mind a decent villain.

I have to admit I know nothing about the whole Girl with Dragon Tattoo business but when I saw trailers for the new film it seemed like hollow revenge-porn for women and apparently one mainstream reviewer sees it the same way.

It's been going on as long as I can remember. The film Monster from 2003 was about a real life female serial killer and they made her into the victim. Instead of being someone who pretended to be broken down so she could murder any good samaritans that stopped and helped her, in the movie her victims were portrayed as evil men who only stopped so they could rape her.

Unfortunately the "Get Woke" philosophy just creates shitty male and female characters on shows.

Star Wars:
- Guys are all depicted as idiots
- The female commanders (Leia and Purple Haired) rule like Adolf Hitler when real life military tend to give their officers a ton of autonomy.
- Purple haired lady literally causes a mutiny (showing how bad of an officer she was). Funny enough is almost everyone agrees the purple haired lady is a proxy of Kathleen Kennedy.
- There was no depiction of any strong "male" human characters except maybe the Captain of the Dreadnought who dies within 20 minutes of the show.
- They finally put an Asian female in a Star Wars movie but literally choose the fattest Vietnamese girl they could find on the whole planet (no wonder Star Wars was only playing in China for like 1 week before it got pulled).

Star Trek:
- They think they're being progressive by casting the main as a black female. Instead they forget they made her into a convict which is a highly racist black stereotype
- Too many scenes of gay flirting and romance (when flirting in previous Star Trek seasons was often kept until the 2nd season or later).

- There's a female red haired character who is medically obese. You'ld think in the future they would still have physical fitness tests for the job or at least put her on the transporter to beam off that unhealthy level of fat.

Seems culturally we're headed into post-wokeness where the ideology is accepted and everyone must pay lip service, but no-one really believes it, and the returns for virtue signalling are diminishing. It's going to fade into the background. Interesting to see where this goes.
