I have a nice, modern 2 bedroom condo in the touristy Condesa/Icacos area for $1100 USD per month all in. Beautiful pool and beach access.

Rent is of course cheap, so is most food, went to a nice Japanese restaurant called Bento the other day which has 2x1 sushi most days and the bill for two people with Sake was like $25 total. Excursions are also pretty cheap if you speak spanish and know how to negotiate it down. Went snorkeling for $7 USD the other day (120 pesos), and jet ski rentals are about $25 USD for an hour.

Most girls here are chubby, and are pretty conservative. I've banged 2 mediocre chicks in 2 weeks.

There are hot girls but you literally almost never see them day to day, only in baller restaurants or clubs like Baby O or Palladium. Palladium was really fun, about $30 USD for entry and all-you-can-drink alcohol. My friends and I, three really well dressed white dudes, could not get into Baby O. You need a girl(s) to get in, they wouldn't even accept a bribe lol.

TLDR; Acapulco is beautiful, and really fun if you're not looking to easily and consistently bang top-notch women. The violence in the city really screws things up, as most girls won't even leave the house after dark (every girl seriously asks if I'm going to kidnap them). Recommend for maybe 1-2 months, would get boring after that unless you can lock down a GF. $1500-2000 USD is enough to really enjoy yourself here each month.

Why would you choose one of the most dangerous cities in Central America, the whole Guerrero state is, to pay European rent prices and bang chubby girls?

Not trolling I am seriously asking, I am sure its beautiful but you have as many beautiful and less expensive places in LA without having to live in one of the most dangerous area in the world (and probably would do 10x better with girls anyway).

I think the obvious answer is that I didn't know about the girl situation before I came. Hence why I am leaving in like a week - going back to Medellin for a few months.

Where in LA can you find a furnished 2 bedroom waterfront condo for $1100 though? I checked into Airbnb in LA and rooms alone seem to be $1000 per month.

As for danger: I actually think it's cool, I am kinda planning to go to Venezuela also. Mainly because seeing a different environment is interesting to me, but it also gives perspective and thus more appreciation for the high standard of life that I have.

Mainly because I came here for a couple days about 4 years ago, and to me (from a nature/views POV) the city is almost as pretty as Rio. Wanted to see if it had as much to offer -- definitely Rio is a million times better lol.

Also as mentioned above, I actually think being in a murder capital is interesting. I embrace new experiences, and also push myself to spend time around disadvantaged people as to not take for granted the opportunities I have in life.

I'd be worried about accidentally flirting with a narco's girl in the clubs there. It's all fun and games until you get kidnapped and have your bank account drained, or stabbed/shot over some stupid trivial bullshit.

Maybe the situation on the ground is a different though. I know what I've read, but a lot of times the reporting you get online on safety situations is way overblown. What's your take?

100% - here with a friend and we have discussed this at length multiple times. As long as you can notice social and situational cues, you're going to be alright.

I don't know about you, but I know exactly zero people who that has happened to, and I have probably 50+ friends, who have even more friends, who live and party in Latin America several months a year.

The most probable scenario in the case of flirting with a narcos gf, being a gringo who doesn't speak perfect spanish and obviously not a local -- if you mess with the wrong guys girl, you're going to get a tap on the shoulder to back off. Either from one of his boys, the guy himself, or someone who works there (ballers like to make certain places their watering hole, so most likely the staff will know them). If you decide at that point to continue pursuing the girl, it's your fault if something bad happens.

1) Even narcos don't want to commit senseless crime if it's not for business reasons, much less in a public place like a club with tons of people around.

2) I know of 1 person, a friend of a friend who was kidnapped and killed in Medellin. He was involved in drugs and a cam studio. 99.9% of the risk in places like this are contained to people also involved in shady stuff. From my research, I believe there's less than 1 American killed in Acapulco a year. Not saying not to be vigilant, to be sure.

LA latinoAmerica not the city..look Tulum, Puerto Vallarta, Praia Pipa, Salvador etc. all really beautiful and in that price range

Most of the top tier girls are staying in or partying in large houses, just people from Mexico City who come crash at one of their rich friend's houses. If they do go out to Baby-O's, its usually really late when I was there it was pretty lame until like 230am. I needed a hookup to get into Baby-O's and even then it was a $50 cover.

Daytime is horrendous there. The city has nothing, the wealthy mall on the other side was pretty deserted as well.

There were some really nice restaurants where I imagine more of the elite crowd goes to, most of the good ones are on the way down the mountain on the hillside so they have a view of the bay. Once you get down into the city, its pretty trashy (except for Baby-Os). Had a good time at Tabares (the strip club), they had midgets on roller skates and shit like that.

If you fuck with a narcos girl someone will kindly tell you to fuck off and not bother her, or she will be nice and tell you she has a bf.

No drug cartel is interested in draining your bank account that has a couple thousand dollars.
