Lawyers for Ronaldo on Friday said they would sue the magazine for publishing “blatantly illegal” accusations.

Ronaldo’s lawyer Christian Schertz said in a statement the report was “an inadmissible reporting of suspicions in the area of privacy”, and that he would seek legal redress for his client from the magazine.

In January 2010, Mayorga and Ronaldo agreed a $375,000 settlement in which she agreed to drop all charges in exchange for the payment. Mayorga, who studied journalism before working as a model, says she signed the settlement out of fear.

“I didn’t want a trial, nobody should know what happened to me,” she told the magazine.

But silence had not helped her process the experience, she said, and she had given up her job as a school teacher.

She hired a new lawyer who questions the legality of the out-of-court settlement. He showed Der Spiegel a preliminary version of a statement about the night, allegedly from Ronaldo. In it he says: “’I took her from behind, the rough way . . . she said ‘no’, and ‘don’t do that’ several times. Afterwards I apologised.”

His admissions vanished from later versions of the statement, the magazine claims.

In 2009, Mayorga worked in “Rain” as a promoter, financing her studies by encouraging guests to have fun and drink more.

“There was champagne but I only drank a bit as I was on a diet,” she said.

Paparazzi pictures from the evening show her and Ronaldo talking and dancing. She didn’t know who he was, she claims, until she read up on him on the internet. They exchanged numbers and she later got a text from him inviting her and a friend to a party in his suite.

He suggested they go swimming in his pool, she says, but while she changed in the bathroom he came in with his penis exposed and asked her to touch it. After asking her for a kiss, she alleges he “touched me all over . . . I pushed him away and again said ‘no’.”

He began to pull off her underwear, she told Der Spiegel, then pinned her down.

“When he was finished he still didn’t want to let me go,” she said. “He looked at me, full of guilt, and started calling me ‘baby’. I can’t remember exactly what he said but he said sorry, asking if I had pain. Then he went down on his knees and said: ‘99 per cent of me is a good guy, I just don’t know about the other one per cent.’”

Her friend, also in the penthouse, said Mayorga emerged from the bathroom “in a complete state, her hair was dishevelled and her make-up smudged”.

She filed a rape report with the police the following day.

After Der Spiegel’s first report last year Ronaldo’s lawyers threatened to sue the authors for producing “journalistic fiction”.

wtf is "retrospective prostitution". If the element of consent is not present at the time of intercourse then it is rape.
It may be argued that consent existed at the time and that such consent was further subsequently ratified, however, I feel as if acceding to extortionary demands really is always trudging murky water.
I don't think it was rape (it was Ronaldo and some gutter-tier woman for God's sake) though the argument of retrospective prostitution is null and void.

There is NO CHANCE this was rape. I don't think anyone on this forum, myself included, can even fathom how desirable Ronaldo is to women. He is easily in the top 10 most desirable men walking the planet today, and if he ends up in a hotel bedroom alone with a woman, there is one reason for them being there. Basically he is a sex icon, who in addition to being ultra famous for his athleticism, is worth many fortunes, and also looks like this without a shirt on:


Why the passionate lying from this woman?

1) She is alone in her mid 30s, realizing the Ronaldos of the world will never be interested in her ever again. Naturally, she feels everyone should sympathize with her, and pay attention as well.
2) She resents letting men get the best of everything she had to offer (unprotected anal on the first night they met) while giving her nothing in return.
3) Realizes that a post wall woman in her late 30s and early 40s has limited earning power and also far lower social status than a hot girl in her 20s.
4) She knows that no ultra desirable man is going to want her for marriage. She could get a more normal dude, but after a decade of getting railed by top celebrities, nothing will be good enough for her.

We are nearing the peak in the #MeToo madness. This particular accusation is ridiculous, but we will know we are the true peak when even the most ridiculous accusations start flying in a manic flurry.

Another thing that I find disturbing: when a low-quality woman has made dubious accusations against a famous man that she has fucked or dated, she still can find a lot of men ready to date her, even financially sucessfull men.

These women should stay single forever if they have chosen to make accusation in the media before any trial.

He is very lucky this went down in 2009. Across the USA, states are now extending statutes of limitations for sex crimes to absurd lengths. If you get a notch tonight, prepare to prove it was consensual in the mid-2030s:

I think that last sentence is incredibly accurate. That, and a shameless money grab. No way was this rape. As I said on another thread, I used to see him in clubs in Manchester when he played for United... I know it's different as 'soccer' isn't remotely as famous in Las Vegas as it is in England, but it would be an honour for a girl to be invited to his VIP area. He'd pick girls out and get his people to get them for him. It's not like some 60 year old billionaire, he was in his early 20s, a multimillionaire, good looking and famed for physical prowess and being one of the best in his sporting profession in history...
