I caught chlamydia from the first girl I fucked (a nice girl by the way, this was in the 80's), and it made me sterile. Bad luck does happen. Yeah, the odds are better for most people, but when someone loses that roll of the dice, don't think you can call bullshit. Low odds != impossible.
Really? Yes
What STD's makes you sterile? This can't be a serious question. Right?
Also, did you use a condom? No

RE: Got the HIV... Warning to RVFers
This whole thread made me curious about transmission risk of HIV when the viral load is high from an initial infection.
Here's a chart showing the risk of transmission for both male and female in all types of sexual encounters.
http://www.poz.com/pdfs/P04-14p53.risk_transmission.pdf
Assuming there was no anal, the risk to the male is a 0.38% chance of contracting HIV from an infected female in a low income country.
BUT if you read the fine print under increased risk, if the female has a high viral load from a recent infection, the likelihood of transmission increases by 26 times.
So take that 0.38% number and multiply it by 26, and you get 9.88%.
This means that, outside of the West or high-income countries, the male has a nearly 10% chance per encounter of catching HIV from a female who has recently been infected!
This number rises to 37% for anal sex.
It's difficult to catch HIV, but it's not as close to impossible for straights as we think it is.
Be careful out there.

If you have another STD, which is highly probable if you are banging lots of club sloots, then the odds skyrocket again.

RE: Got the HIV... Warning to RVFers
That's why this thread is so important. We have too many guys running around here plugging there ears and singing la la la not believing that the risks are real, especially in places like SEA and probably Latin America too. How many times have we read from both newbies and veterans alike about how the risks of HIV transmission from women is negligible? Sure the risk from homosexual sex is vastly greater but the risks from hetero sex are much higher than zero. Then you add the presence of another STD which really increases the odds. Even HIV aside, the risks of contracting a disease like gonorrhea or chlamydia are increasing pretty dramatically as both men and women become much more promiscuous. Gonorrhea in particular is becoming more resistant to the strongest antibiotics that we have these days. Actions have consequences and unfortunately a lot of men and women just do not seem to understand that there is no such thing as consequence free promiscuity. In many, many different ways.

Did you have herpes at time of infection and do you believe this aided transmission route? It’s always said that herpes makes HIV transmission easier, statistically that HIV+ people also have herpes. Just curious.
Personally, in addition to civilians I’ve engaged in high risk no-condom sex with sex workers all over SEA including a few ladyboys (hey, I’m a rennasance man). After the ladyboys & a few particular absolute bottom barrel prosts (I was on a bender) I’ve since tested negative and am extremely lucky for that.
With ladyboy’s in particular the risk is well known, all of them get HIV eventually. The smart ones are on a Prep regimine but even that isn’t bulletproof.... so I thought I was mostly safe with vaginal sex with civilians (and occasional sex worker) as pretty safe. But dang. Your story both surprises me and doesn’t surprise me at all.
Fascinating though that you assume to have been HIV+ for a year+ with basically no symptoms and also not having passed it to your steady GF (raw dogging daily over the course of entire 1.5 yr relationship)... without ever infecting her! Beggars belief. Goes to show it’s not easy to get with straight vaginal sex.
With that thought in mind... I am curious if you have been able to drill down a little more in your own mind the origin (who) of infection. Was there a particular incident or girl that stands out for you as likely carrier? Was anal involved? Was it multiple encounters with girl or single? And after a year+ do you believe it highly likely you passed it on to others?
What was your girlfriends initial reaction and how has she taken it now? Still together?
Thanks for answering our questions!
For what it’s worth; my sympathies (you’re not looking for sympathies but nonetheless have them). You can be any of us.
Her reaction was shock but she was pretty understanding. Still together.
To be honest i have no idea. It is very unlikely i got infected in the last year and a half or I woupd have given it to my GF for sure. So that leaves around a 2.5 year window.
The most likely suspext is this filo/colombian semi pro i banged like 3 years ago. But in reality I have no idea. It could have been from a super innocent girl who just banged the wrong guy.

We did raw dog anal several times also (creampie).
My theory coincides with CleanSlate's analysis above.
There is a window of 2-3 months where the transmission risk is huge.
If a promiscuous club rat gets it (highest probability from a bi guy) then she might bang 8-12 straight guys during this highly infectious period and give it to 2-4 guys. Then this cycle continues.
Regarding herpes. Not sure, I had one outbreak that i suspected was herpes but it could have been a fungal infection. Never had another one like that. Also it was painful so I didn't bang at all until it cleared up.

Keep in mind those probabilities are not independent events. Risk increases with more partners. One of the major public health issues in the HIV/AIDS epidemic was trying to eliminate (or at least regulate) locations where men could have sex with vast numbers of men in one or two evenings.
Actually, my doctoral work focuses on the history of venereal disease, so this is an area of some real interest for me.
If you're not fucking her, someone else is.

Bisexuality should be illegal. You can't play for 2 teams I'm sorry.
Seriously, fuck bi dudes. They're exposing all the club sloots (my kryptonite) to their buggery. And probably not even telling them.
I've had several Viet girls here tell me they get messages from bi dudes on FB all the time, sending them ass pics and stuff.

OP. About the depression you can PM me... and we could even do a phone call if you want... been through it myself.
Look into NAD+, it’s not too expensive, and for a degenerative desease like AIDS it should be able to help...
The only natural proven way to vastly increase life span is to eat a calorie deficient diet..
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-03431-x
Of course we don’t want to do that! Luckily they have found that NAD+ is what seems to be responsible for the slowing of the metabolism. And you can take it as a supplement thus not having to eat 1200 calories a day.
This might keep you in better health untill they come out with a cure in 15 years.

^Dude...if you're smashing ladyboys you're not straight. I know a lot of degenerates in LOS do that, and think it's ok. It's not lol. You fucked a biological man. It's pretty gay.

1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co...lence_rate
SEA does not have a high prevalence. Bar-Girls that go raw with many sextourists do.
Eastern Europe is more dangerous, Estonia has a prevalence of 5.2% (!). Ukraine in some areas is very high, too.
Because since breakdown of the Soviet Union, Heroin use with needles is widely spread. And it’s common practice to let the needle run “in circles”.
South America is about the same as USA.
2. You should donate blood regularly. Great way to help other people who need blood after an accident (might be you sometime) and your blood will be tested for important parameters and of course HIV.
3. The infection with STD like Herpes damages the skin on your foreskin/penis and greatly increases the risk of infection. So don't count too much on statistics.
4. Only gay people have HIV? That maybe held true in the 80s. That's a long time ago.

“^Dude...if you're smashing ladyboys you're not straight. You fucked a biological man. It's pretty gay.”
Ladyboy is definitely a biological man and the sex is gay, yes (is anal sex with a woman technically gay, too?). That said; If you’re only attracted to women and sleep with/date only women but also fuck the rare, occasional hyper-feminized ladyboy, fuck one out of boredom or curiosity (or for no reason at all) but also are not (not!) attracted to men in the least (gay men or straight men) or cock then I wouldn’t classify that person as gay, at least not regular gay or even bisexual... hypersexual, more likely. Just my personal view. And if anyone disagrees I would not say they’re wrong at all, either. For what that’s worth. Maybe it is black-and-white.
To keep this thread focused on the original poster who was infected with HIV via a women (possibly through anal, he’s not exactly sure) it’s good to reiterate: anal sex is highly effective in transmission for anything/everything.
Only conclusion to draw from commentary above as it relates to OP and all of us: making the straight-sex game (civilian & p4p alike) more dangerous are the increasing popularity/prevelaence and accessibility of ladyboys (there’s more of them every year it seems) generally. Thus driving up HIV rates in straight sex people. For sure.
And speculation about straights (or bisexuals or whoever) fucking ladyboys (picking up virus) then fucking a women (infecting them), then that women infecting other straight men, and on it goes... is probably only going to accelerate.
What was once a gay-on-gay-only problem or IV drug user problem, those communities were sort of quarantined from straights... not anymore, is now straight-on-straight problem and I link it to Ladyboy popularity/prevelance.

This thread makes me thankfull I wrapped it up always with sloots in SEA, despite often desperately wanting to shoot my load inside.
Also, thanks OP for bringing this up, hope you get well, I am sure they will find ways to cure this in the next few decades.
As for ladyboys, they're walking vectors of degeneracy and disease.
OP, are you sure you didn't bang a ladyboy (maybe post-op) by mistake? No judging, it can and does happen, by mistake to a lot of guys in SEA.
