I can tell everyone here that the overall culture at Tesla is completely fucked. I'm not even sure where to start.

The behaviors and actions that are tolerated by the top levels of management would blow away the general public. Showing up late 10+ times in a span of two weeks or walking out early and not notifying anyone are almost universally tolerated and don't result in documentation, much less firing.

The number of drug users in that company's factories is unbelievable, as are the number of criminals. I swear by God that there are convicted armed robbers and rapists working at Tesla right now. I know there are because they told me, I googled their names, and sure enough the persons in question were charged with and convicted of rape and armed robbery, and not in the distant past, either. Tesla must be getting some kind of kickback for each of these criminals they hire, given how many there are, some with blatant gang tattoos on visible parts of their bodies, including face tattoos.

The whole line got stopped one shift while they tried to figure out who scratched "X4" into a piece of foam in a parts tray. You're not going to get anything close to quality from workers like this being paid like that.

We lost two people from one shift in a span of three days because they violated their parole by not showing up and were sent back to jail.

I don't want to bad talk the guy too much because I have admittedly been a fanboy in the past. I think that the world likely needs more visionaries, and Musk is an inspiration in creating companies that match his values, regardless of what your thoughts of those values may be. Instead of saying how the world should be, he is trying to make it that way. There's a lesson in there for any man that wants to make a difference in the future.

However.

Tesla is the next Enron. They are now under SEC investigation, and have lost 14% share value this week alone. The guy is absolutely unhinged and the board should remove him as CEO for the future (if there is one) of the company. The tweet that he sent out last week about taking Tesla private should be interpreted as market manipulation and fraud. I can see how much a toll the stress is taking on the dude, and I also can't believe he keeps wifeing these females up. Dude is worth 20+ bil and is still falling for skanks.

He has a cult following, that has pushed TSLA stock into the stratosphere because these people don't care about financials or fundamentals, they care about him. But, he is continually showing that he is the problem in this company. Musk should start companies and let them run, not run them.

The problem is that his companies are financially impossible without heavy government subsidy. Any business that requires a hand out should crash and burn. That's not the way of the free market.

I've ridden in model S's, they're nice, but they completely irrelevant for all but the 1%. The model 3 is still ridiculously expensive, and as other have said, as soon as the other car manufacturers put out EVs, Tesla will be a thing of the past.

Running a large public company is very difficult and few people can do it successfully. Hopefully Musk will step aside for his own health and well-being as well as for the company. I own a Model S and it's a fun car to drive. I've not had any problems with it and the acceleration always puts a smile on my face.

I had a mentor years ago that had taken his company public. He told me that it was the worst decision of his life. When his company was private he could do whatever he wanted within reason. Afterward he always felt constrained and ended up selling the company. He impressed upon me that you should go public if that's the only way for the company to grow and survive. I owned over 5% of a public traded company for a while after a deal closed and even at that small level I didn't like the restrictions. Maybe it would be best to take Tesla private, with or without Musk.

Tesla bought the NUMMI factory for a pittance of $42 million after GM and Toyota put $1 billion+ into it and then folded. It was already there and they snatched it for next to nothing. Tesla needed a factory as soon as possible to start Model S production in 2012.

The bay area needs to fall into the ocean. There is no way to fix it. The left has destroyed it and it is no longer part of this country.

Ummm...Musk didn't build the Fremont Tesla factory. That site was the former NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturin, Inc) automotive plant that was a joint venture between Toyota and General Motors from 1984-2010. When NUMMI closed Tesla got a last minute sweet deal. Tesla had already reached agreement with another location not in Silicon Valley but changed their mind.
