I'm surprised they let the plane depart in the first place. Why not make a game of it and book more connecting tickets to see how many planes they will divert until someone recognizes the folly? I don't like that Thomas Jefferson quote, mostly cause it's what's being used by the left right now. And there's no drawn line to who it prioritizes more, so it makes unjust and just subjectivity uglier to determine. Still, I'm behind the law of whatever place I reside in less that law threatens my existence as far as death, food, shelter, or water is concerned.

Yes, that quote is kind of glib, and not very comforting to the other passengers on the flight. But the fact that the UK chose to collectively punish a couple hundred unknowing passengers in order to "protect" England from the threat of wrongthink is outrageous and I hope more rebels do this in the future to highlight the stupidity.

Would I say the same thing to illegal border crossers? Sure; just be willing to accept the consequences, as Roosh was.

Question for anyone that knows. Aren't airports usually considered a save haven for travel from country to country? More like a international gateway. I believed, that if you don't leave the airport, you can travel freely. I know countries you can't leave the airports during a layover.

In a lot of countries you can do a layover without going through immigration, but not everywhere. In the US you need a visa for a layover if you would need a visa to visit. In some countries most nationals can just pass through, while others need a visa (e. g. in Turkey, some Africans need a visa just to go through the airport). So basically it just varies from country to country.

Not in the US. There was a famous story of a non-US citizen who got arrested in the mid-aughts when at a US airport waiting for a connecting flight.

I've always treated airports (and borders) as basically "no rights" zones where law enforcement rules with impunity. Regardless of your rights, a country's laws, international laws, etc. it's hard to believe you will get fair treatment from those people if they want to get you. And good luck with any sort of appeals. Just pack your shit, leave, and move on.

I personally would not have taken this risk. It's mind blowing they would turn the flight around but I shudder to think what they would have done to him had he reached the airport. It's not a stretch to say they would have interrogated and jailed him indefinitely.

What's notable is that I haven't heard any outrage over this level of tyranny over a thought crime. Meecham, Robinson, Southern were all covered in the net and MSM but Roosh doesn't even register a blip.

Roosh I love ya man and if you consider what you did as an act of defiance against an unjust law then I respect you more. I do agree what happened was insane and lacking in any common sense.

But you can't be incredibly surprised when you attempt to enter a nation in which you have a ban on your person. A list that includes lots of horrible criminals and bad people - they have to take it seriously.

Banning a blogger from entering the UK is retarded. And good ol' Britannia seems pretty fucked at this point, thank god I wasn't born there. I'm glad you were treated well despite your transgression, it could've been a lot worse if you headed there from a harsher country with worse jails and treatment of prisoners. You could've been beaten, tortured or worse as your name appears next to international terrorists. Glad you're ok.

That is a very reasonable view.

Lets imagine we are on a plane and some communist nut is on the plane. (Perhaps not a reasonable assumption because the communists are all in government and academia, not on those lists). As a passenger, I'm putting my faith in the airline that the passengers on the plane are safe, that they filled the tank with gas, a million other things. They need to check that stuff before they get airborne.

As an aside, and perhaps an obvious one, the anti-terrorism laws are being corrupted for political oppression.

That is not the same thing.

He wasn't arrested for entering the U.S. He was wanted by the U.S. for violating U.S law, and once he voluntarily entered U.S. jurisdiction he was arrested.

If you want to say that a UK airport is technically the UK, of course, that is obvious. But Roosh didn't break any laws so the need to keep him even from the airport doesn't exist.

This is just more motivation for me to become successful and get a private jet, time share of a jet, join the netjets program or something like that. I have a phobia of airports were I feel like at any time I can be detained for no reason and in reality it's not even a phobia but a realistic fear because it constantly happens to people for no reason. The only way not to be treated like shit at the airport is not to go to one.
