Matt "the Megatoad" Stonie just recently beat Joey Chestnut in the deepfried asparagus eating competition. I think this is the first time I've seen him lose.

I got interested in competitive eating back when Fox had that special "Man vs. Animal" over 10 years ago when Kobayashi matched up against the bear.

After Chestnut surpassed Kobayashi I haven't cared since. I also think the popularity of competitive eating declined after that also.
