This isn't Wiemar Germany. The urbanization we have is going to make food shortages much more acute in any WROL (without rule of law) situation.

People aren't going to starve in America, one of the greatest sources of food worldwide. Our grain and beef production alone could feed the nation.

Not to mention the huge reserve supplies of food we have for emergencies.

In The Peloponnesian War, Tycidides talks about how long it took for Athens to finally die. Despite losing territory after territory, horrible diseases and famines, and experiencing many crushing defeats, the Athenians had enough money to continue the fight for over 20 years.

America can take a hyperinflation and still be fine. We are sitting on so much money it's disgusting.

Because Argentina is a dollar based economy. In case you missed, during the 2000's the Argies had broken because they used dollar as current money. THe country suffered a crisis who lead to the past 5 years and now is almost in track again.

The Dollar will not collapse. Keep in mind those Gov dudes that are screwing us all the time have plenty of them. They will not let it happen nor will they move to Costa Rica with gold bars. They will stay right here and put the screws to us indefinitely.

For a glimpse of what many of us who reside in metro cities in the states can look forward to, with the dollar's eventually collapse.

I am hoping for a soft landing, but it just might be my delusional thinking.

My thinking exactly, though many would call me hopeful/delusional.

I just have a hard time believing that those running the show at the top are going to allow such a thing to happen. If the U.S. dollar goes, so does the world economy - the elites aren't going to let that happen.

The Bush Family bought a huge property in Paraguay, there was a rumour that Cheney had a place in Dubai.

So I would not assume these Government officials will stay here, heck they may all go to Israel - they seem to have more allegiance to that country than the USA.
