RE: Futurism and technological breakthroughs thread
I did a forum search for Kartik Gada since I recently read singularity in more detail, though I had seen the misandry bubble link a while back. Interesting stuff.

I personally think a lot of the futurism stuff is overstated and fantasized, though where I think they are accurate is that economically it will be a singularity jump, which will cause all of the offshoot benefits or problems ...

The "upload your consciousness" bullshit is just annoying, it's so stupid.

Get your passport ready!

I suspect that part of the obsession with "curing" death is the Modern's inability to become. See Johnnyvee's post regarding the VR goggles, and how they just had to include trannies in it. The Modern wants to live vicariously, experiencing everything without ever accomplishing or becoming. Without becoming, they never become parents. "Curing" death seems to be a way to ignore the massive demographic crisis we're facing.

How many of us wasted our twenties experiencing different women? To what end? I don't remember most of them, and none of them changed me for the better.

Of particular note in that video, was the comment at the end about "being able to learn from our mistakes." How many people have you met that actually learn from their mistakes? The vast majority double down. In High School it was pot; in their twenties is was blow; by their forties it's crack cocaine. They've pissed their lives away on progressively more destructive drugs, and their eventual death in a gutter will be a relief to us all. One less destructive parasite to carry along.

Not to mention the issue with reproduction+Life Extension. The idiots will breed, and breed, and breed, producing dysfunctional offspring, while the intelligent hold off until the time is right. Basically the situation we already have, squared.

The amount of controls that would need to be put in place if this technology were ever developed are terrifying to think of. The arrogance that these people approach the human condition with... as if science can perfect the human moral condition.

It is our moral failings that make this life hell, far more than death. I am also on the dragon's side.

Some excellent points there. I have argued before however that life extension might be the only way to save the European genome. It`s maybe even easier to achieve this goal than it is to get our women to breed at replacement rate or above again. We`ll see!

I spent my 30's and 40's doing that...but they DID change me for the better. I understand women (and, therefore, half the world around me!) 100X better now than before.

Plus, i have such wonderful memories ...of lush, ripe melons and perfect asses.

T&A of a young, healthy chick is nice.
Yet I don't find basic chicks all that mentally stimulating...

Anyway, back on topic & to Johnnvee's earlier point.
I also agree that far too many people ascribe human sentiment / emotions onto any hypothetical A.I.

Putting aside that I don't believe actual artificial intelligence will ever exist. As in a truly sentient computer.
What impulse or drive would a cold, lifeless, bloodless, DNAless computer have?

No urge to procreate.
No urge to eat.
No urge for anything essentially. At least, from a distinctly biological animal / human perspective.

Fair bet a hypothetical A.I. would scan the world & think. Meh, what ev's...

Drone attack/assassination attempt against president Maduro! No one killed, but 7 injured. (Unclear info) Almost surprised that this hasen`t happened before. Looks like the "future of terrorism" unfortunately.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you like your conventional life span and life cycle, you can have it. Those into radical life extension are not about to force it on you.

In Darwinian terms there must be selection pressure that is must be naturally brought to bear by refusing the subsidise idiots and not saving idiots from themselves. Which of course would cost less as they take themselves out. Of course for those who are willing to change they should have a way out. As for the rest let them pay for their own actions.

For some only the natural threat of extinction will deter them. But for the rest they are already lost.

Normally their high turnover rates will ensure that their numbers are kept low with the occasional smarter person that end up emerging from that milieu due to rare advantageous mutation that occur in 0.01% of all mutation cases.

Combine that with a merit based society where the best rise in rank and hence accrue benefits for themselves and ensure their own reproductive success to ensure a better society in the long term.

The way our current universe works. It seems nature has to be to some extent red in tooth and claw. Because entropy is the normative state of the universe.

Some exciting news from NASA expected soon. Hopefully we will get some high resolution images of objects in the Kuiper belt from the New Horizons probe, including the planetoid object(s)? Ultima Thule. First images are expected 2 of January, but better res. images will probably come later.

Looks like NASA has found a huge floating snowman in space with the Ultima Thule space object. Amazing that it holds together! Dimensions about 33x15 km.
