Consider, for example, Tye Sheridan, the 21-year-old lead in “Ready Player One” — and one of few action heroes who won’t be busting out of his T-shirt anytime soon. Or the rising star Lucas Hedges, also 21, whose acting exudes anti-alpha softness. Christopher Nolan’s 2017 World War II epic “Dunkirk” was an ensemble showpiece of British twinkiness; “Love, Simon,” starring Nick Robinson, 23, is the American suburban version.

Historically, music’s leading men have been less burdened by stereotypes of masculinity. But if the godfathers of nonbinary pop — from Freddie Mercury to Adam Lambert — paved the way, their personas often came across as glam-rock caricature. Today, gay twinks such as Olly Alexander of the band Years & Years and Troye Sivan feel less costumed. When Sivan, 22, performed on “Saturday Night Live” in January, his shirt was blown open by a wind machine, his whole mien charged with sex. But there seemed to be safety in his slimness — both for the artist to express himself and for his countless questioning teenage fans. Sivan has also walked in a few runway shows, and several modeling agencies, including the German company Tomorrow Is Another Day, now specialize in lithe men, lending their sometimes-teenage charges to Prada and Valentino. When Nicolas Ghesquière unveiled his spring/summer 2016 collection for Louis Vuitton, the actor and musician Jaden Smith, then 17, wore a metal embroidered kilt, going beyond drag to question what, if anything, boyishness looks like now.

Female body types have always cycled in and out of style; yet with men, alternatives to the ideal of imposing physicality have usually been ignored or lampooned. But as women continue to use their voices to undo that legacy of toxic masculinity, a different kind of change is taking place from within the culture: These twinks, after all, aren’t just enviably lean boys or the latest unrealistic gay fantasy, but a new answer to the problem of what makes a man.

Any and all attempts to remake man and masculinity must and will invariably fail. One can talk and debate this until the cows come home, but you simply cannot change human nature. You may be able to play God and suppress it for a generation or two, but invariably nature will seek to auto correct any deviation from the norm by favoring the group or the species best equipped for survival and procreation. It's either that or face extinction. Take your pick.

It wasn't too long ago they were telling us that Dad-bods are what we should be aiming for. It's interesting that in the whole article there was they didn't even try to convince us that "twink bods" are attractive to women.

Its not the age of the twink. Trust me on this.

I noticed the photos of all of those twinks show them slightly stoop shouldered. They need to learn correct posture and to stand up straight if they want to avoid back problems in the future.

The article is the male version of the fat-acceptance movement.
Neither men are going to find lard-asses attractive nor are women are going to find twinks attractive. Some who have those bodies may be attractive if they are famous or Alpha in terms of mentality of Game, but that is just other factors overcoming their shortcomings.

The age of Twinks is about as realistic as the age of Lards.

Sailer’s Law of Female Journalism: The most heartfelt articles by female journalists tend to be demands that social values be overturned in order that, Come the Revolution, the journalist herself will be considered hotter-looking.

Looks like this law needs to be expanded to cover all journalists.

While the Media's attempt to push this narrative is ingratiating ("twink?" That's the best you could come up with? Not even the gayest dude on earth would embrace that label), it's actually a good thing for a certain segment of guys.

If you were a lanky-ass dork in past decades, you were pretty much doomed to unattractive nerd-dom. But now you can dress in Saint Laurent Paris knockoffs, learn a little swagger, and and present yourself like a faux rock star. While lifting is probably one of the best things a guy can do to become more attractive, it's not an option for everyone, and there do seem to be an awful lot of girls who are more into the hipster band member look. But most of the guys of this sort whom girls like seem to have muscle, anyway. Regardless, men who are in a position to take advantage of this probably ought to do so.

So he is not exactly living what he preaches. It's probably too much soy and his Alpha postures in some photo-ops are utterly eradicated by his real-life ones where he squeezes in somewhere.

But at least he has a good job, is moderately good-looking, gets to hob-nob with far wealthier people interviewing them. He is not born rich, so worked his way up and even worked as a caddy.

The usual leftie plugging more leftism, though he is actually not living it fully. In saner times he would be married and living the Don Draper lifestyle while occasionally slapping the secretary's ass.

The good part is that he is less likely to end up alone and unhappy than that SATC wannabe. Though of course we haven't seen marriage and divorce with him - so you never know.

#1 Mercury was more masculine (and subtle with his gayness) than Lambert will ever be.
#2 Lambert is not a ”godfather of nonbinary pop” nor is he a definitive rock singer, he’s that fag from American Idol who does a passable job doing Queen covers. A poorly drawn caricature, if you will.
