So Dalaran, Lille has kind of a different vibe than Paris, it's a mix between Belgian and French culture. Definately if you go during the semesters there will be students from all over France there so you might not see a big difference from Paris. However if you hang out in Vieux-Lille or Wazemmes or any places where locals are hanging out you wil definately see a difference of character.

Northerners in France are more rough/tough looking than in the rest of France. I saw a lot of guys with beards there
Say Frank Ribery woud be a common look in most taverns. The area is poorer than the rest of France and the economy is bad, so you will find a many rough areas (even the center of Lille has many racaille/scum that would would seldom see in the center of Paris and they follow girls or steal shit). The guys are taller and more muscular than in the rest of France (naturally, this is due to flemish /dutch origins)

The people are therefore tougher there, I saw some fights erupt in bars and many fights with english soccer teams between french and english hooligans in the center. It's also a very cold climate for France.

However, it is very easy to meet friends here comapred to Paris, there is a good nightlife and lot of great brasseries and bars, it is one of the only place in France where you can meet guys in a bar, get their numbers, and actually see them again other times (or run into them again bars and be friendly with them). People are less judgy than in Paris and less snob, I found they were actually pretty honest.

Girls are taller than in the rest of France and have tougher features but can also be pretty/cute. There are many blondes here, moreso than the rest of France. This applies to local girls though, you won't notice it if you hang out with the students. I would say they are a little more conservative than southern girls (Lyonese), less fun, colder or less open-minded...if they don't know you or you have a sleazy approach. However I found that once they know you live in Lille, are from Quebec and are cool they get pretty friendly. I wouldn't say they were the easiest girls I met in my life but they have an interesting side to them and can have very pretty features.

The weather is super miserable in Lille and I guess it affects the behaviour of the people there, but you won't be lacking options of bars and places to nightgame.

For guys staying in neighboring countries to France like Germany or the UK, is there better results to meet french girls in these countries than in france where the social circle and language aspects are more challenging? Any of you guys have experiences in meeting them in meetup groups/language classes in your home countries where they come to learn english/german etc or people go to practice french?

If you are going to France (2nd tier cities outside Paris), is it worth learning the language over speaking just in english and how good do you have to be in terms of proficiency? From reading the threads, it looks like beginner level french is not going to get you anywhere in France, seems like it might infact put you in the group of the ghetto guys. I see two ways of going about it. First, learning well before going to France. Would it yield results for visiting cities over a weekend? The second more costly approach is learning french in France for a few weeks through Alliance Francaise (AF) or something similar? Would it help in getting to know the locals? I am guessing that the issue with these classes might be that it might be filled with immigrants learning the language just to get a job rather than experiencing the culture or social purposes and that might change the vibe as opposed to students learning french as a foreign language?

Race unfortunately seems to play a part in the reception that one might get in france from a few posts before. Let us assume that it is a well put together black or latino guy from an anglosphere country.

French girls in the UK for example are so much easier to game than in France and if you know just a little bit of the language and culture they will be pleased. If you live in a university city like me with a large international presence then your best bet is finding a French society which often organises events and parties. I am actually seeing a French girl I met this way who is on exchange. And yes look for erasmus nights, they often have french exchange students.

Gaming in France is hard as hell but I think that if you learn fluent French before going there it may be one of THE best countries to game in, the city of Toulouse for me had some of the hottest chicks in the world. All I know is weekend trips to these 2nd tier cities are not worth it although you may meet the odd girl who speaks very good english. And remember to bring your A game to France, it is needed.

That's good news. I have actually met a few of them down under and they have had very curious but polite nature even when they are not interested.

Why did you find france challenging? I am assuming you are fluent in french here.
There are a few french cities that are big on rugby and Toulouse is one of them, meaning lots of jacked guys. Was the competition/lots of girls in relationships a reason you didn't find much success?

But its good to know that despite the fitness levels of the guys, the girls still take care of themselves.

Yes actually the girl I am seeing said her first choice to study was in Australia so there must be a few there. Fluent? no I barely know a dozen words in French, I just like their culture. That is why I found France challenging and exactly for the reasons you are saying - high competition and in general good looking dudes with good game (no homo). You should try and find them in Australia they will be easier to crack than at home.

The girls for me are a good balance of everything that I like plus you can actually have a good conversation with them. They are also very sexual and a lot are freaky which are open to anything including threesomes and bisexuality, I've seen it myself. They also have the best sense of humour, they are not serious at all. And for me their look and style is on point too, the way French girls dress is unique. And let's not forget the accent too.

True, there are quite a few of them backpacking and some of the older ones decide to settle down long term with the locals if they find work. Even more so in NZ. Definitely, they are going to be nicer than at home, most of them I have met, live in Paris and we know how the dating situation is like in Paris. I notice though that there is a steep drop off in english away from paris, even those from other big cities. Looks like decent french is necessary even for those overseas. But obviously, gotta go to the source for a more deeper and varied experience. From what you say, it seems to be worth it, unlike in places like Germany where knowing less than fluent german is going to be a DLV.

You mentioned going to Toulouse, more a second tier city, did you see decent black or latino looking guys with french girls? Also, in france, did you notice any snobbish behavior from the french girls at the same level as to what you might find in anglo girls in the anglosphere?

Hazaer read the Toulouse datasheet by PhDre, I commented on it last year. It is extremely accurate. There are many black guys there and I've seen a lot of them with fine girls. Latino's is hard to say because the general complexion of people is dark like that of a 'latino' which is actually North African mix (there's a special word for this in France if you're an expert let me know). I did not meet any latino's so I cannot comment.

The girls are not snobbish like in the Anglosphere but if you're not over 5'9, got big muscles, have facial hair, good style and fluent French - don't even try. Imo it is the most demanding city i've been to for gaming girls, you really have to put in effort but once you do that - you will have access to arguably the best tail in France and the quality is insane. We're talking 8's on every street. If you like mixed French girls you will go crazy here, they are exactly my type.

I tried to pull these French student girls as a skinny 18 year old with barely any game in the bars and on the streets with no French and I got no luck. Except from this girl from Spain on erasmus who was going to meet me but I had to fly out the next day. If I come back to any place in France to game girls in the future it will be here, but I'll make sure my French is good and I grow a beard first

Paris is still the only place I've gotten a golden touchdown. I'm not ripped but probably have a fuller torso than 90% of french guys, I'm 6'3" and I dress above average. My French consists of 20 or 30 phrases.

The OP is dead on. French girls are snobbish in an endearing way, it's like an amateur cute version of the bitchy bullshit you encounter in L.A. or from Vegas local girls. I could deal with French snobby girls all goddamn day, especially considering how high the average quality is.

I pulled a girl from a casual cafe/bar in Marais, she was with 2 friends and they were the opposite of cockblocking, actually moving seats so she could talk to me and then they both ejected when they saw we hit it off. Everything went the opposite of how things would go in the U.S.

Granted, this was one incident, I'd need way more data and experience to form a definite opinion, but I approached several other girls on the street and at Tuilerie park on various trips with great reception. If your French sucks just own up to it, at worst I got ignored and at best they would laugh and try to talk to me. If Paris wasn't so goddamned expensive I'd make it a point to go at least once a year.

It looks like language is a more important factor in the dating scene than race. There is quite a lot of confusion when one means latino in the forum. Not sure about that word you refer to but I refer to Mediterranean guys from italy or spain etc not from North Africa/middle east. They do have different looks most times and sometimes the latter exhibit behavior that spoils it for everyone else in that region and even where I am at. Apparently some of them try to pass themselves off as Mediterranean guys to girls. I am guessing there would be some of these types from the ghettos from what I hear. It will be interesting to hear the experiences of italian/spanish guys in france, there must be some of them doing erasmus.

Do try some other french cities as well, there are quite few in the south, or maybe you might do better in the north, Strasbourg, lille etc. Toulouse like one of the posters mentioned is a rugby dominated city, you are going to have to fit that type.

First off, I just want to thank all the previous posters in this thread for sharing their wealth of knowledge on this place. Lots of great information here for those like myself who have only recently started to become interesed in getting to know this country, culture, and her people better in order to possibly build upon some of my previous positive experiences.

Despite my rather small sample size and rather modest experience with French women (compared to most of the posters here, that is), I must admit that i’ve experienced a pretty unique pattern with them where i’ve felt like I could always just let loose and unapologetically be myself around them, and often feel so comfortable, I never catch myself overanalysing my words or foolishly overthinking things like i’ve been guilty of doing at various times back in my younger and more vulnerable years.

Unlike most women I’ve met and conversed with from around the world, the French women seem to be very well in touch with that 6th sense for that “feeling” of energy one can emit. Most women typically already possess this, yet many are either unaware of it, or their instinctive reflex for it just lies dormant, like some frustrated, ancient volcano which is well overdue to finally blow those inner magmatic juices all over the freshly cleaned bed sheets. What i’m referring to, of course, is with regards to how they feel in a man’s ‘presence’, and just that general vibe of comfort and that’s inferred without even having to ever say much, if anything, at all.

I found this attribute very similar to the Russian women I got a chance to know the past year, and it’s a shame that it’s not so easy to find elsewhere, and not quite as universally exhibited/revered as it deserves. A real shame, given how simple and obviously beneficial it is to practice such measures as having good posture, exhibiting strong body language, and being a man who takes what’s rightfully his, but does so in a way that still, by all rites, is forever clever and dignified (i.e. absolutely NO hover-handing, or having a weak touch that makes her feel as if a spider is crawling on her. At least I haven’t ever heard of that ingratiating a man to the woman he adores beyond the remote parking lot area of her figurative Friendzone Used Car Lot.

Really feels as if the magnetically charged spiritual energy from within is what does (and probably should) do most of the talking for you, anyway, as it seems having that powerful, gravitational pull of charisma really can go a long way in providing the comfort and security that most women are biologically inclined to seek. I defiinitely sense more appreciation for this from them than back in the States.

Now while the Russian girls I had the privilege of being with last year were very similar in this respect as well, there still seems to be at least one notable difference that has made the French woman ever so slightly more noticeable and intriguing to me, which seems to simply be more in-line with my own personal style and taste for using the power of prose to be creative in maintaining that ever delicate interest of theirs, as they are definitely flakey as all hell. I dn’t take it personally or anything, though, because it’s pretty obvious to me that it’s not done in a mean spirited way (or they’re just pros at hiding it lol), and just akin to their particular flavour. It takes some getting used to, but I think it’s still worth it, imo.

Of course, allow me to once again remind that my experience here is obviously not nearly as robust as some of the other posters here, most especially those who can actually speak French and doesn’t have to always rely on being aloof, mysterious, or have a location independent occupation to help break the ice and garner interest. I’m pretty pathetic at language learning like a typical English speaker (shamefully, but it is what it is, and usually isn’t the part I screw up, anyway), but if they’re willing to be a little patient and give me the time needed to build trust in them, i’m willing to give it an honest effort, for whatever that might be worth.

I am looking forward to it, I lived a few years in Lille and will meet a friend or 2, people there are warmer and nicer than the parisians assholes, it’s a shame they are so racist though.

I've personally had better interactions with French girls, in France despite being friends with several French dudes and girls I met while at uni. The girls in la Côte d'Azur are by far the most fun, especially when playing yacht game

As far as French girls in the UK are concerned, they can be insanely stuck up, more so than the average Eastern European girl who has gone from a 4 to an 8, but when you bed them, sublime
