The story doesn't hold up to scrutiny very well.

They meet a guy that they know and have mutual friends with, take him out and drug him and beat him up and steal his stuff all the while knowing they're still gonna be in touch with his friends and him?

And he's a local?

I mean anything can happen but it's just very unlikely that this is all there is to it.

But it was dudes that beat him up from the photos I saw.At least, logically.

Btw DOT is an EDM club. I've never been but if it's typical then drug use is rampant there. Could be possible that your friend took some shit there.

Or is he marked as a target? I don't see how these girls could not be afraid of the guy or his friends since they're all local. Maybe the guy is known as an easy mark? (in which case his friends might be in on it)

I'm not doubting you either man, you seem to have better expertise of BGD than me. I only lived there 4 1/2 mos.

I did not know that about DOT, but that would probably change the narrative (obviously). Very likely drug use is typical. And very well possible that he took something. But again, it's BGD, so I put a lot of faith in friends to avoid serious fuck-ups, because they start the dumb shit at like 14. But as far as I know, from what he told me, nothing? But you never know, a lot of impulsive idiots in this city.

Marked as a target? No clue. It would be his friends, at that point, who are at fault, and he's local, as are they. I would not say he's easy, b/c he's a street fighter, but maybe has a reputation as rich. He does some dumb shit, but carrying that much cash would be on him.

I can confirm that DOT is an EDM club (techno nights most of the time, so expect 75%+ of the clientele to be on drugs, mostly MDMA and amphetamine), although it is in the very centre of the city and not some random basement dump.

Well, I don't know if he was taking drugs, I could see plausibly how the effects of x could be a real problem... I don't know about speed, maybe that's why he got beat up?

I'm not doubting you believe your buddy, but like Beirut I think there are a few holes in his story. The biggest one being why was he carrying $300usd on a night out in Belgrade? Have you asked him that?

Are you sure you buddy didn't just go to a drugsy club, spend a chunk of his $300 buying too many drugs, take them, then get mugged for the rest and beaten up at some stage later on?

That seems a more plausible scenario than girls who're friends of friends (who he'll likely be able to find again) drugging him in some elaborate scam. Especially given he was already in a drugsy nightclub to begin with.

This used to happen a lot in Prague, girls would go back to a guys apartment/hotel, bang and steal everything they could lay hands on. Sometimes drugging him sometimes not. If he was on a data plan I'm sure google maps traced his whereabouts. He can definitely find out his whereabouts that whole evening. Even maybe trace his phone today.

This can happen anywhere in the world. Many, many people I know have fallen victim to this kind of scam in Tokyo of all places. Nigerian bars and all that.

Belgrade is fine. I lived here for 6 years in the 2000's. Serbian girls are DTF and the guys are a bit meat headish but thick as shit. You seem to know what you're doing anyway.

That's something I forgot given how pervasive the tracking of phones is by google. I may check that out.
