In Poland approximately 80% of animals test positive for the parasite T. gondii (Toxoplasma gondii). Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular, parasitic alveolate that causes the disease toxoplasmosis. I was looking at the T Gondii infection rates for people across the world and its more than 50% in some Eastern European countries. Contact with raw meat of infected animals, especially pork, is a significant source of human infections. And we all know Poles love undercooked meat.

Affected people will mostly demonstrate subtle shifts of behavior. But in a small number of cases, [Toxo infection] may be linked to schizophrenia and other disturbances associated with altered dopamine levels—for example, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and mood disorders.

Poland is also the Lyme disease hotspot of Europe. All of eastern Europe is actually. While toxoplasmosis might produce some subtle symptoms, Lyme disease (complex) can ruin your life. Interesting topic overall.

Possibly. It’s funny to read the research that basically shows how different parasites induce more sexual behavior in humans, they increase the population of infected humans and increase the population of infectable hosts by doing that. One study showed an almost doubling of the number sexual partners for infected human, with an average of two more kid.

The worst bit is none of this is new… before “psychology” was invented, doctors who knew how to cure people would treat anyone with mania/anxiety/depression for digestion health, parasites, and colon dysfunction and cure them of their “mental” disorders. But it is more profitable to “treat” crazy people than it is to cure them.

I have a cat. Does this mean I have to cancel on all these girls now that want to sleep with me? I thought sleeping with lots of beautiful women was Alpha. Now it's not. No doubt 90% of the posters here have multiple parasites. It only takes one trip! With T. Gondii you don't feel sick (as the source article says) but your body is over reacting to everything so you don’t get sick but you’re burning through nutrients too fast. Hence why a lot of Eastern Europeans age BADLY... if they don't eat super healthy. With autism + T. Gondii you'll see extreme behavior shifts late 30s if infected in 20s. So this should be a concern for a lot of people here.

Don't worry about it. Parasites can be removed from the intestine using the right amount of vinegar for few days longer than the length of the gestation/life cycle. If you plan to take a trip to Ukraine, you should be aware of the high rate of Tuberculosis (TB). The incidence in the country is 87 per 100 000, and Kiev is 41 per 100 000, which is very high compared to other Western countries, which mostly dont even reach double figures. For example with the United States 2.9 per 100 000 or Germany 8 per 100 000. Don't worry, if you get TB, just get lots of sunshine... getting 10,000 iu of vitamin D for six months will allow the body to get rid of TB and that works for preventing it too. If I remember right, the body produces about 40,000 iu in white skinned people in about a half hour. If you aren't getting enough sun, take 15000 ui of vitamin D, that's equivalent to less than 10min of sunshine on your body! TB can't live in people with enough vitamin D

Man I never understood why people freak out about "undercooked" meats and other dumb shit like "germs". Your immune system is there for a reason, and it needs practice. When I was a kid, I swam in dirty lakes, played in the mud, ate street food which sometimes made me vomit, and other risky shit. I played with cats and get this - sometimes SOMETIMES kissed them (AHH!). The result is that as an adult I rarely get colds, flus, and pussy-ass allergies.

Calm down, settle down. It is pretty far from being a slam dunk that Toxoplasma gondii is causing significant personality differences. There still needs to be a lot more research done before acting like the jury is in. There are multiple possible confounding variables potentially at play. Just one such example is that certain personalities are probably much more likely to put themselves in situations that are higher risk for exposure.

You don't remember correctly, so you should stop trying to play scientist and give medical advice regarding vitamins and parasites since you have no idea what you're talking about. 40,000 IU everyday would result in toxic levels in a relatively short time frame. An hour of strong sun would result in more like 1,000 IU.

Normal doses for Vitamin D3 are 1000–4000 IU, or 25–100 micrograms but will vary depending on a individual's blood volume. Taking 15,000 iu is terrible advice and could be very harmful. Lol, If you go out in the sunshine in the summer at noon you can make 15,000 iu or more naturally. It is generally considered that the safe upper limit of daily vitamin D intake is 10,000 IU/day. That being said, everybody is different and may require more or less vitamin D. If you're trying to get rid of TB you might want to hit 15,000 IU.

You're the clown trying to give unsolicited medical advice on how to treat TB with Vitamin D. Aside from being super random, this is advice a doctor should be giving because it is contingent on your body size and current blood levels. Your quote is from an anecdotal short term treatment under doctor supervision and only on the 1-2 month time frame.

There is long term build up with Vitamins, so a dose that is fine in the short term can have negative effects if maintained over several months. A dose of 10-15k won't outright poison you but it is likely sub optimal for health over several months. 40k-60k IU/day long term is likely enough to cause adverse effects or outright toxicity in the majority of people.

This gave these small children an incredible 3,600,000 IU's of Vitamin D in 18 months. That is Three Million, Six Hundred Thousand IU's in 18 months in small children as a routine hospital procedure for several decades!! There have been zero reported incidences of Vitamin D Toxicity from too much sunshine. You're completely ignorant. I'm a world renowned pathologist.

Oh, and Doctors aren’t scientists. They’re more like mechanics. Listen to a noise. Look it up. Prescribe medicine. They have robots that can do that shit. Proper science takes focus, discipline and patience.. not to mention creativity at times.. and of course intellect. Traits rarely found at all today, let alone all in a single person.

Here's a brilliant health test: If you get sleepy sun tanning it's because the immune system cells need vitamin D to signal that something needs to be done... so you get super tired when all of a sudden your body starts doing shit to remove bacteria etc and you fall asleep in the sun...

You're scraping at the bottom of the barrel if you're going that far back and referencing it as good practice or evidence of anything. The Germans were doing a variety of inhumane testing on children so I don't know what you're trying to prove. For all you know their kidneys were damaged from it. To be fair, 3.6 million IU over 18 months is an average of 6.6k IU/day.
