RE: Berlin vs Hamburg
I'm going to travel in the next few weeks to compare Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne and Leipizg as a 6 months homebase to learn german.

I'm a swiss guy in his mid thirties fresh out of university, so I'll be there as a young professional.

Among these four cities, given limited time, which ones are worth to visit during the week to get a feel of the nightlife in your opinion?

I like alternative chicks. However, I see a lot of hate for Berlin. In my case I like real, genuine, funny, smart, open-minded, free-spirited women. I like that when I meet a woman it's authentic. That's more a criteria to me than if she's an artist or working in finance.

I don't like extremes: whether head-shaved covered in tattoos and piercings until we cannot see they are women anymore or posh-stuck-up-I'm-upper-class-than-you-women. I just don't like to play games anymore and masks annoy me more than they amuse me now.

The real question is: where are the sluttiest german women? ;-)

RE: Berlin vs Hamburg
I have been to 3 to 4 out of those cities....

I dont have any intel about Hamburg as I never visited any alternative clubs or areas.

I am based in Cologne so I can give you intel there:

Cologne has a fairly large alternative scene. There are even neighborhoods where most of these people live... Ehrenfeld and Belgisches Viertel come to mind.

I can name many many many bars and locations where these girls go and some are pretty decent looking. During the week is going to be tough because most people go out here on the weekend. There is something going on almost every night in Cologne with the exception of Sunday and Monday however during the week its limited to pretty much 1 or 2 locations... and when nothing is going on in these specific locations.. nothing is going on.

I don't see you doing badly here but you need to come Friday and Saturday to get a proper look. Gaming will be better in summer or in warmer weather because girls will be sitting outside in parks and be easily approachable.

Drawback of Cologne: Don't expect many international girls.... So if you aren't meshing well with German girls or if you get tired of them its not going to be the easiest to switch gears and get tourists or outsiders. BE SURE German girls are what you want..... Otherwise I suggest Berlin as it has more different types of people in it in case you want to switch around. Better to have more options I say.

Hamburg Reaper Bahn girl stag parties on week ends

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

Good stuff, guys, thanks!

So I'll check out Cologne on a week-end and Hamburg does it matter? Or any day of the week is fine? Berlin I've been there once and I know I love the place. For long term I don't know and it was years ago, I need to go back and compare with the two others how I feel about these places.

Compared to Hamburg and Berlin... Cologne is small (in my opinion) and you can move from one end to the other fairly quickly.... In Hamburg and Berlin youll be expecting alot more travel time between locations.

I think its going to be really hard to compare places if you go during the week because during the week there are mostly student parties if anything. To get a true apples to apples comparsion you need to visit each of the cities on a Friday and Saturday and research locations with the types of girls you are shooting for.

I am still doing research on Berlin at the moment. I want to go back on a weekend again.

It makes sense, you're right, thanks. I'm changing my plans, I'll check Hamburg and Cologne both during the week-end.

So many places, so little time.

RE: Berlin vs Hamburg
A more current update. Was in both over the last 5 days or so.

I enjoyed Berlin as a place to visit but would not live there and probably won't be back anytime soon. We spent our time visiting the city neighbourhoods along with seeing the main tourist draws. I've never been to a city that has promoted degeneracy as much. It really is off the scale. Adverts promoting some sort of degeneracy everywhere. For every good-looking girl with a Slavic look due to being close to Poland/Czech Republic that walked by the next 9 would have some sort of piercing, shaved head and so on. The public transport is really efficient but I would not want my girl travelling on it alone. It would be great for international flags though and we always overheard many accents/languages from tourists and study abroad students.

I suppose the push for as much degeneracy on top of the current liberal agenda in western countries can be put down in part to the city being split in two for the best part of 30 years. It is a city that seems to still be making up for the lost time. The Berlin Wall Memorial is a great museum to visit.

It was my girls first time in a naked sauna which made for some interesting looks when two young blondes came in having clearly had a drink or two lol We were ourselves before but from past experience know it's too hot to do much in a sauna.

Hamburg, on the other hand, seemed very business-like and more structured. It felt much more German with the only tourists being stag dos. I only saw the Reeperbahn during the day but it felt more like a holiday strip in Magaluf or San Antonio than Northern Germany. The girls, in general, are better looking and few are walking about with any blue hair or out of the normal piercings. I have been to Germany a few times but in the West and South and have always been surprised at the high number of blondes among the general population. It seemed as if a blonde girl that looked normal had grown her hair out long as well. I guess you never know their attitude until you speak to them though.

I would choose Hamburg to live/do business in and Berlin to visit on the weekends that you want to party. However, If anyone wants to live in Berlin but visit Poland you would be just as well living there for a more saner quality of life nevermind girls

Germany is no heaven but definitely an upgrade compared to other typical Western European countries (France,UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy come to mind) where women are complicated/arrogant, too bad quality, men more aggressive approaching or all of them combined .When it comes to Germany, Most people go to the worst cities like Berlin or Frankfurt, where half if not more of the population are not even ethnic germans to begin.

In Western Europe I avoid Spain, Italy, Portugal,Greece, France, UK and Ireland. Im not a fan of switzerland either due to being too expensive and too much bussiness oriented/high competition, however I have seen nice quality in some towns and cities, but not worth paying the price.. Belgium seems to be meh in quality and culture compared to its eastern and northern neighbours.
