Thanks for tips, Kona. Looks like I am not about to use them on this trip though.

For three consecutive days I have been exploring the nightlife in Tokyo and I like what I see!

Thursday: went out with some guys from my hostel to gaspanic. Pretty empty until midnight, but then took off. Was actually a huge sausage party, but enough girls came coming thorugh the place all evening to make it worthwile. I hooked up with one, but then dumped her as it was too early for me to get off the booze and think about chicks. The next one I found was a very good looking one, apparently from Osaka. But irony of faith would have it that she dumped me after realizing that we couldn't really communicate.
The third girl was not the cutest I had seen in my life, but had a slim body and good sense of fashion. As the club closed it was me, her and her friend, but cockblocks in Japan are very effective. Seems like there is an invincible rubberband that keeps the girls near their friends.

Dammit, I put in some serious effort, but to no avail. Went home alone.

Friday: Not a lot to mention. Just being social with the people from my hostel at various all you can drink type bars. Deciding on going to go to Gaspanic around 4. I hook up with a fucking hot chick within two minutes of entering the venue.
She is giving me the butt to dick dance for one hour straight, we are having fun, building connection - it is definitely on.

As the club closes I am thinking that we will proceed to a love hotel - but once again I am met with resistance - the girl rather wants to go to an after hour place with her friends. I will not let this stop me, and try to put in some even better game - like putting her on the shoulder to carry her away, pretent we are the leading actors of Titanic - incredibly cheesy, I know - but after half an hour of back and forth I give up.
Going home like an 8 year old, who has been denied his xmas presents.

Saturday:

Same as friday. We end up going to the clubs extremely late, and are when we are getting to Shibuya, not allowed to enter any clubs as some of us have not brought id.
End up going to some small bars. Good fun, really easy to meet peple and game chicks. I do a street approach, and convince some chicks to join us at the next bar.
After heavy flirting and drinking, the other japanese leave and I am finally alone with the girl. Not gonna lose this one, i am thinking.

We try to find a love hotel in Shibuya, where they are scattered all around the place, but FUCK, they are all full! I am not lying, when I say we at least went to 15! After half an hour of looking around, we find a shabby little place, I pay the price of 2000 yen for a shabby little room with a hard mattress and proceed to get my japanese flag.

J-girls are definitely the most weird girls in the world. This girl's whole voice and personality changed 180 degrees, and I was thinking that I had sex with a pokemon some of the time. Weird! But strangely satisfying!

Overall verdict is that Japan is a really easy place to hookup with the chicks, but getting any further than kissing is hard. Friends are major obstacles!

The chicks respond very well, to straight forward aggressive game, leading the interaction, and cocky and quirky humour.
I know like ten japanese words that I would just repeat with a weird facial expression and that would usually do the job and crack them up. Alot of them do not speak much english, but it is not that much of a big deal in the end.

So get out there approach like a maniac, be a real man and you cannot fail.

In view of making my trip to Asia and specially in China as memborable and enjoyable as possible, I'm thinking of taking a course to learn the lingo. Which one would you say is the most useful (mandarin or cantonese)?

mandarin. Canto is mainly spoken in HK and Guangdong, and even then people there mostly speak mandarin as well.

For the full exp, i would recommend the basics. It will really cut down on your fun and women if you need a translator or cant speak basics for yourself. It also gets you respect, and people are more willing to open up with their crappy english if you give them a taste of your crappy mandarin

1) How's the competition from fellow Westerners? Are they particularly suave/good looking or just average?

2) What form of identification have you and your friends been using to get into clubs? I've heard they're fairly strict about IDs over there. Could one get away with just a state driver's license?

As for the competition, it is almost non-existant. The Japanese guys are jolly good fellows, but are too shy to hit on chicks.

The westerners I met were just average guys, with little or no game (aka 'the try to look cool game'). Many of the guys who go to Japan in the first place, go there cause they have got some geeky interest they want to nurture, so they aren't exactly the biggest womanizers on earth.

All in all, I felt like a child in a candy store most of my time.

For some reason they are very nazi about the ID's. I guess a driver's licence or a copy of your passport is good enough.

I JUST got back home from 2 weeks in the Philippines. I'll do a write up a little later but all I have to say is I LOVE, LOVE the Philippines. If you are a semi-decent looking white guy you have to be DEAD not to get laid by a non-pro over there. Now I know how a Perfect 10 must feel like, all the stares and shy smiles I got were mind-boggling. Totally cheap place to stay aside from air-fare. I rode Jeepneys and Trikes and felt safe my entire time in the Philippines. The malls are definitely the place to pick up there. The girls were a great mix of light-skinned to dark-skinned asian, mixed asian and Spanish. There were plenty of girls with big boobs and butts but if you like lithe, feminine, long dark-haired angels they are the predominate type. Great cheap beaches too.

In Lipa City I stayed in a large suite with aircon,flatscreen tv and a large tiled bathroom for 2200 ph or $48 US. The resort I stayed at right on the beach in Laiya was a brand new aircon room with terrace for the same price,this had guards that keep their stretch of beach private. Much cheaper rooms are available,especially if you can forgo aircon. My lady friend thought the resort meals were too pricey at 175 ph or $4 US so we went down the beach to the where the locals go for meals that were about a dollar or two including soda and dessert. Sodas can be had for7-15ph and expensive resort-priced San Miguel Light in the bottle cost me 50 ph or barely over 1$ US. Much cheaper off the resort of course. Take note that meals in the mall from known chains like Pizza Hut are no bargains but the off-name places tended to have 1-3 $US meals. Everything is pretty cheap in the philippines except electronics. I can't comment on bars or cover charges as I didn't go to any. Transportation via jeepney or trike is extremely cheap at 7 ph across town to 60 ph to locations a couple hours away.

Note about travel to the Philippines right now is the rainy season just started.Some islands avoid most of it so do your research and plan accordingly.

I'd read about that thing before where it's illegal to bang a Laotian girl and that cops will set you up to extort money from you, they may have a cute Laotian girl hit on you and then when you take her to your room and bang her, some cop now demands a shitload of money.
