Israelis--guys: cheap and disrespectful. They don´t want to learn anything about the country or the people when they travel. The girls are very beautiful ( nice asses) but for some reason they complain a lot. I worked in a hotel in the past and i witnessed a lot of arguments ( they complained about food, rooms, prices, noise, the weather, you name it) Some hostels in Argentina don´t accept them.

I was told by some affluent Brits to stay away from the places in Phuket with Russian writing. They like to stay to themselves. I stayed my last few nights in a hotel that was full of them, and they showed no love for me.

Have found Israeli's to be very, very bad. Up-their-own-arses, entitled and rude are what springs to mind. Surprised actually to see how many of us are in agreement - considering how widespread we are and how few Israeli's there actually are. We must be onto something.

As a Brit who has seen first hand the ignorance of my people I cannot find fault with our countries being mentioned. As a people we are uninterested in mingling, uninterested in sight-seeing, uninterested in culture and very likely to kick off if we've drunk too much. This is the difference between Brits and Aussies/Kiwis. They will just get bladdered and piss in a sink, we get bladdered and attack Johnny foreigner.

Yanks are very polite and talkative. Most Western Europeans, interesting and shocked at the price of everything. Chinese, courteous but stick to their own. Indians, everything that applies to the Chinese but taken up a notch.

Japanese have never bothered me, though - fucking hell - them taking up space parading through the Louvre and viewing everything through the lens of a camera is a bother.

Yep Brits can be pretty bad, for this reason I have never been on a package holiday in Europe. I realise that they have soured the charm of Eastern European capitals to some extent too.

But Brits are probably the most intrepid people in the world, and outside of these places you will find the best type.

I would say amongst the most annoying to me are the Americans. For the fact that they can be so loud, inane, and obnoxious. The further you get off the tourist trail the better the Americans become, but on it they are intolerable. If I see a North Face jacket then I avoid them like the plague.

American gamers really need to smarten themselves up in Europe, this is the centre of style and culture, so I urge you to invest in some stylish clothing before you come.

I have to stick up for our American cousins here. I think that their stereotyping as overweight obnoxious types is unjust in the most part,or at least not at all true in the under 35 year old age group. I've nearly always liked the Americans I've met on my travels. I've always been attracted to American girls and love the way they dig my English accent and seem to find everything I say hilariously funny even when I did not intend it to be. Whenever I check into a hostel in Europe and hear female American voices coming from the kitchen I always smile inside and prepare to introduce myself in my best home counties accent. They are a bit straighter then Aussie/NZ chicks and not as up for getting pissed up and debauched as quickly but I find that kind of charming.

Japs are the least offensive tourists in my eyes. You hardly hear a squeak out of them and some of the girls have an endearing shyness about them. I always worry about them when I meet them because they seem so innocent and easily taken advantage of. I mean Brits grow up in a land where we have all seen violence on a night out or been in a brawl or two with some some pissed up ogre so we can go pretty much anywhere and handle ourselves,whether that be Detroit or Helmund Province. But Japs are used to living in a land where people still bow to each other. Poor sods wouldn't last two minutes in a club in places like Oldham or Rochdale.

I've had to spend hours with natives bitching about America, or the 1 or 2 Americans they've encountered. When your abroad, dress and act like somebody. Don't be a douche.

Haha I can't help but agree with Neil, being completely objective here (despite what my profile says, I'm not Indian, but close).

I've already weighed in on this, but Chinese tourists are horrible. They're amazingly friendly in China itself (at least on the mainland), but once they leave home they become extremely rude and go nuts for casnos. At least the Americans and Brits are friendly.

I've been to India and nearly died there of food poisoning, lost 12 kilos and only weighed 68 kilos on return to holland.

I met lots of indians in Thailand,Malaysia,Burma, Hong Kong and Singapore and in many hostels all over the world. They would leave a mess in the hostel kitchen, skidmarks in the toilets, piss on the toilet seat, eat so loudly with their mouth open in the kitchen so that others were disgusted and ate their food somewhere else. I shared many days in dorms with them in Singapore. The smell when i entered the room was terrible and food and dirty laundry lay all over the floor and beds.

I'm not saying all Indians are like this just like very isreali isn't a cheap heaggler. But if 4 out of 5 are like this it says enough to me.

Young australians are a pain in the ass also because they like to brag and give all the details, about the women theyve banged on their trip, especially when they are drunk. They dont know how to tell a story either. Never heard of a great australian writer. A player should always be somewhat modest about the details of his bangs, unless he is a writer and it is part of a good story or lesson he is trying to share.

lol at the skidmarks in the toilets remark! I had a girl who did that in my house after I met her in a club. Kicked her out immediately after I saw it. Filthy skank.

Don't want to castigate an entire country/race but I lived in India for four years ( Udaipur,Rajasthan ) running a guesthouse in the mid 90's, got ill so many times with Giardia and Bacileric dysentry,filthy country. When you take a train early in the morning you see whole populations of a village squatting in a field by the railway line with their dhobi's pulled up, taking a shit,utter rank. You'd think they'd at least do it in private or shit in a deep hole they can later fill in and not just in a field in full view. Also you often see kids shitting in the gutter in the streets. No wonder everyone gets ill there.

Indians abroad though are usually a little bit more cultured/rich so I have never come across unsanitary behaviour by them on their travels. I do find their smell somewhat off putting but that's not lack of hygiene just a by product of their diet.
