Trump didn't win on celebrity factor. I scoffed at him throwing his hat into the ring like every other "woke" dude.

Trump didn't win because he is Trump. He won because of what he represents to actual Freedom. I don't think many people actually understand what Freedom is, or if they do, it scares the shit out of them - that's their own neurosis. If "Western Democracy" even lived up to half of it's promises, Trump would have been waved away with a chuckle & a sideways glance.

Trump won because the state of affairs are so dire that we all (those who know what we are actually dealing with here) said "yep. Bring in the battering ram & smash the current collective psychosis. Then we can rebuild."

Nothing more. Nothing less.

Other factors.

- Trump may well be spurned on to MAGA even more than he intended. Providing an even smaller platform for Oprah to run on.
- The Democrats may well double if not triple down on political correctness to their even greater ruin.
- The current anti-Trump REEEsteria will die down after two years should the status quo improve.

Oprah would be wiser to wait until 2024 when Trump can't run.

Oprah has no shot at winning, and won't run because she knows this. The only reason she's being championed right now is because liberals are dumb and think they found their black, female ticket to the White House.

Donald Trump is not being given enough credit in this thread. Trump didn't run for President on a whim, and Trump didn't win the Presidency just because he was some famous TV star.

Trump had been planning his Presidential run for 30 years. You can see it in his old interviews. His twitter timeline (pre-2016) shows his stances on many political issues. He wrote a great book, Crippled America, that outlined his solutions to problems that he had been thinking about for many years. Trump won on the issues, not because people recognized him from TV.

Trump is also a political genius. Have we all forgotten about Scott Adam's blogging during the election? He continuously put his opponents in lose-lose situations while putting himself in win-win situations, then he skewered them. Even during his Presidency, you can see that he is a political force. He's not some hack that just "connected with the people" to back into the Presidency.

Oprah has not shown even a fraction of the political passion that Trump had shown prior to running. If liberals think she can hop in and run on "woman's issues" and win, they're delusional. Despite what MSM wants you to believe, nobody really cares about that. When push comes to shove, people care about jobs, money, and security above all else, and you can't beat Trump there.

As Fisto mentioned, her as a VP might be a threat. In the VP role she can just keep her mouth shut and act as a magnet for the minority vote.

Oprah is a VP threat and even then, the main candidate better have enough to overcome her issues.

Her Downsides:

1. No kids
2. Rumored gay
3. Ultra liberal socially (would need to move to the center more)
4. Zero experience
5. Billionaire
6. Hollywood
7. Atheist/Not Christian (Not even good at faking it either like Obama)
8. Card Carrying Illuminati Member, with powerful Jewish backers (some libs won't like this)
9. Several Black ministers/preachers cannot stand her. (They likely won't say much though)

I said it before, I think white women (especially liberal ones) are too racist to let her get to the WH first before one of them do it.

If you think Hillary Clinton was polarizing, Oprah is even more polarizing than her, especially with men. I actually would not expect a 90% vote by black men for her. Many with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) will out of spite of Trump, but with the economy roaring and blacks doing really well now, plenty more black men will vote for Trump instead.

Trump needs 15-20% black vote to make it the same beating he gave Hillary. Not all black men are stupid enough to forget that Oprah is a very large reason why black women are more feminist than white women. Not all black men forgot about that stupid ass movie Precious. Even Tavis Smiley's blue pilled ass did not like that movie and questioned that narrative, incurring Oprah's wrath. She can forget about any Hotep/woke brother votes. Probably no 5% or black Muslim vote either.

Oprah declared war on black men for decades.

Why forget about all that now? Because Trump has "racyiss supporters"? That is the epitome of foolishness.

If Oprah got 90+% of black vote, I would say that black men in America are a lost cause for redpill thinking. Older blacks in the 45 and older range will vote for her near 90% or higher, because they voted for Hillary the same way and pro-gay/anti-family agenda is something they ignore these days. They just support anything black. Atlanta Man is in that demographic or close I think, so that is not a surprise there.

Anyway, Oprah would need to do alot of work on the ground to fix those issues, THEN she needs to find a way to unify all the liberals, THEN solidify Dem party leadership. I'm not so sure certain leaders in the Dem party (ahem Nancy) would let her just take over like that. Nancy is stupid, but she isn't THAT stupid. No president has ever been elected since the television age that was childless. James Buchannan was the last and he died in the 1860s. Your average American is not impressed with Angela Merkel, which is what Oprah would essentially be.

The Dem leadership want a winner, even if there are no winners out there right now. A Kamala Harris and Oprah ticket is not enough to pull moderate white women away from Trump. They will need to return to a white male of some kind, and Bernie is not going to cut it either.

Question for you guys: Do you think Oprah can buy enough political consultancy in two years to write up enough plans and solutions to be ready to battle Trump on issues like Alpharius posted about?

I am going to say no, and the reason why is because even the top Dems in the House and Senate do not have good plans either. Trump is spitting solutions fast like Twista the rapper, even on Twitter. That means alot because he is constantly focused on the issues. Incumbent presidents are very hard to remove, especially if the economy is doing very well.

Put it this way. Can she even beat out all the other Democrats in the primary? Money cannot buy everything. Trump should not even bother attacking her until she can even do that. Some junior House member might give her a spanking in the debates during the conventions.

If the entire Dem field is full of empty suits, it will be a slog, and they will have terrible momentum by the time they get past the nomination.

"Issues" are important, but the average voter is swayed a lot more by more superficial personality aspects, mainly the personal connection candidates manage to establish through the media package they present. That's what makes Winfrey such a strong potential candidate.

Obama and Trump both won on being perceived as Washington outsiders, running against "same old" politicians. Oprah brings that quality (even though she's an estblishment tool like Obama). She's got those elements of Obama and Trump, but packaged for a larger demographic.

Oprah would only need 6,000 votes to flip Michigan, and 14,000 votes for Wisconsin, which Obama won by over 400,000 votes in 2008. It's about Oprah as a potential candidate. Objectively speaking, she is probably the worst possible challenger for Trump in 2020. Running against Trump would neutralize all her downsides, the fact that she's an arrogant celebrity billionaire with no political experience.
