Good thread.

Best: Tbilisi (beautiful), Guinea (countryside, vibe), Sierre Leone (beach, party scene, girls), Morocco (I expected another Egypt), Damascus (during war, but still incredible)

Worst: Egypt, Mogadishu (I expected bad, but damn!), Jerusalem (people), DR (over-hyped imo).

I'm surprised to see the like of Stockholm and Oslo in a lot of people "worst" list. I loved those cities. The people are so friendly. Girls are a little over-rated though, I agree.

Surprised to see Colombia on here. That place is fun as shit.

I think some of the stories told on the forum make people believe that Colombian girls are just gonna open their legs at the sight of a gringo. Most of the dudes who were getting laid all the time had good game also. I didn't think it was super easy nor super hard.

Best Surprise: Taipai/Taiwan - I had no expectations of this place. I don't even have a thing for Asians but there are lots of beautiful women, cheap delicious food and beautiful scenery.

Worst Surprise: Tie Bangkok, Paris.

Thai women are overrated. Thailand as a whole has too many tourists, and Bangkok kinda sucks logistically, though nightlife was fun and the country is beautiful.

Paris, overpriced, bitchy women, shitty weather. Ill take London over Paris. Once you've been to the rest of France there is really no comparison. Anywhere else in France would be a better vacation for a young single man

I always got the impression that the down to earth, feminine gals in Paris really struggle to find friends and enjoy their time there. They'll be the first to tell you how bitchy, competitive, and back-stabbing Parisian women are.

Go visit the cities along the Riviera and places like Lyon and Toulouse and you'll find heaps of ex-Parisian girls there pursuing the less hectic lifestyle.

Seems it's not just men who are put off by the bitchy women and shitty weather.

I agree San Jose itself can be a bit dull, but SNL and first date bangs is quite achievable. You can also go hiking in the hills in or around the city to see some stunning views.

Guanacaste is indeed beautiful, but it's overrun with american tourist. Costa Rica have so much more to offer! The Puntarenas region is my personal favorite, and more of the locals have mini vacations there as well.

biggest surprise in a bad way - Mexico City

Probably the biggest disappointment for me. Lived in Mexico for a year and could have left in 6 months. Lot of hot young girls but by mid-twenties they are already putting on weight and rarely, rarely see a woman over 35 who isn't at least overweight with a potbelly. About half are obese. Most of the food is bland; Mexicans spice it up by dumping hot sauce and chilis on it. Mexicans really suck at foreign food. I would end up eating at PF Chang in Mexico City just so I could eat some mediocre Chinese food. Only food I found that was consistently good was Taco Arabia. I was also surprised by the lack of nightlife and art outside of restaurants and bars with no live music. I was expecting to find lots of bars with bands since so many radio stations in the US play Mexican music. Even in Mexico City there wasn't much going on at night. I asked people who lived there and they said that there was a little but you really needed to know where to look. One Mexican woman said that music isn't taught in their schools and few know how to play an instrument. Mexicans mainly seem to entertain themselves through going out to dinner then having loud all night parties at home.

There were a few cities though that I thought were a lot better than Mexico City in terms of food: Morelia and San Miguel de Allende. The young women seemed very approachable in Morelia but still the weight issue as they age.

biggest surprise in a good way - Istanbul or Phnom Penh
I went to Istanbul years ago before the Internet so didn't quite know what to expect. I found it be a satisfying blend of Roman, Byzantine, and modern. Lots of beautiful women too: thick, long hair, big boobs and big eyes. Unfortunately, I was there with my Iranian girlfriend so didn't get a chance to sample the local wares.

Phnom Penh was much more enjoyable than I expected. I had mainly read about it in its earlier stages right after the Khmer Rouge when it was the wild east. Now a lot more sedate but a gym I went to had a sign on the front door with a red line though "No guns and no bodyguards." I didn't find Cambodian women as good looking as the Thais but still had some fun. Lots of great eating too.

I don't get how anybody can hate on Colombia. It's a beautiful country (mountains, beaches, jungle), friendly people, cheap, lots of hot girls, partly pretty good food, good+cheap blow, etc. Whats not to like?

Sure, if you don't speak the language, you'll get ripped off and likely won't have excess to most of the higher quality girls. Same is true for most countries in the world, though. And of course it's a shithole in many senses but travelling to developing nation and expecting first-world standards is pretty retarded.

I'm not in to p4p. So my rating is based on the easiness to bang a "normal" girl. By normal I mean, not prostitute, educated, with a day job etc.

DR: over-hyped, very americanized. If you fancy to date a normal girl forget it. Gold-diggers everywhere.

Colombia: had high expectations about Colombia. Women too flaky. Not worth it, too much work to bang a normal girl.

San Jose, Costa Rica: curvy women, loved it. Friendly people. Nightlife is almost none. Got a couple of flags here. It's getting more difficult coz of too much tourism.

Portugal (Lisbon): The best food I've ever had in my life. Great wine. Weather is great. Issue: women are reallyyyy hard to get, impossible to approach here. Enjoy the food and scenery. If you want an easier bang go to Spain (Sevilla, Cordoba etc).

Next stop: Lima, Peru.

Best: Brest, Belarus! Second tier magic, unbelievably hot, super curious girls everywhere, all the time.

This place is the biggest surprise I've ever encountered - untouched land for most of you.. Going back for sure. Had no expectations before I went, knowing that the conservative non ONS culture would make things tricky, but even this fact, and with zero Russian language skills, I had an amazing time rolling solo in the city centre! Lovely people the Belarusian.. if only I knew some Russian I'd be crushing it there! I don't know. I'm usually pretty disappointed if I can't get a flag during a 4 day stretch, but this was different. Just the experience of having 9's and 10's eyefucking the shit out of you for a whole night was pretty damn epic. You can even approach not knowing any Russian - They WILL be nice to you! No western shit to deal with here

Worst: either Mexico City or Warsaw..

The Phils surprised me not in a good way.. The white god factor and reputation precedes it. You can play second world economic advantage and you will get a slight bump for being a Westerner, but I don’t see why a typical American wouldn’t just head to Latin America

Biggest positive surprise: the USA
Biggest negative surprise: the USA

For reference: I'd already visited 16 countries when I was a kid. Born to Indian parents, grew up outside of the US (not in India though) and then moved to America for college. By the time I was 18, I already had more travel and language experience than most people can dream of.

Ha, I still remember the day I landed in the Midwest and took the shuttle to my university. There I was, with one luggage bag and a backpack. First few nights I slept on my bed with nothing but the pillow I packed. Meanwhile, some people came with their car, their mom's car, their dad's car and a U-Haul

What can I say. I fell in love with the US. I'll be honest and admit I actually came because I loved American television and movies. And damn, the Midwest took my heart away, as cheesy as it sounds.

College football.

Joining a fraternity.

Learning about how exams are graded on a curve (seeing my grades at the end of my first semester was a huge, positive surprise).

American food.

Taco Bell! God I love Taco Bell.

Bagels.

Unlimited soda refills at restaurants.

Met my best friends for life in the US. Almost all of my closest friends are Americans.

And the fucking optimism. I love American optimism. Even if it something borders supreme irrational confidence.

People in the US have (had?) such a positive outlook on life. It was night and day from the country I left (a country that seemed resigned to its status).

Kissed a girl for the first time in the US. Fell in love for the first time in the US. Fucked a girl for the first time in the US.

The US...well, really the Midwest...is where I feel like I belong. It's the first time I ever felt truly at home. Found my people.

I went home a while back. By happenstance I happened to be there during my 10 year high school anniversary, so I went.

All my high schools remarked how Americanized I'd become. In fact, even people in the US can't pick up that I didn't spend the first 18 years of my life outside the US. Everyone assumes I grew up here. (I picked up an almost perfect American accent on the way).

This is me now:



I eventually ended up attending grad school at an Ivy. Met Nobel prize winning professors, Fortune 500 CEOs and billionaires.

Opportunities I wouldn't have had in any other nation.

I feel tremendously privileged to have studied in the US.

The world revolves around America.

It really does.

We live in the age of the American empire, where either through military bases, American culture (Hollywood, music, comedy) or American products (computers, cellphones, the internet) the entire world is an empire. And the US is modern day Rome.

I talk to my friends back home, and some in India. And I don't think they really understand the world we live in. The US is and will be for a while the focal point of the world, the one nation that dictates what direction all of mankind moves in.

And I don't know if you truly can understand the US unless you've lived in the US.

America's exceeded all of my expectations. It's been one hell of a ride.

That's the positive.

The negative:

The US bears the curse of all seats of empires. As it has propelled itself to magnificent heights and dragged the world up with it, it's also diving down into the abyss and dragging the world down with it.

America - ground zero for feminism.

America - ground zero for gay marriage.

America's produced some of the greatest ideas in mankind's history, and some of the absolute worst ideas.

America's produced some of the most amazingly powerful technology (automobile and computer technology for example) and some of the most havoc-wrecking technology (cue smartphones and their effects on women).

My experiences with women in the US have been...well, there's a reason I'm on this forum.

I look at my Indian friends in India. Normal relationships.

I look at my Indian friends at home. Normal relationships.

I look at my non-Indian friends at home. Normal relationships.

I look at my Indian friends in the US. Disaster.

I look at my non-Indian friends in the Us. Disaster.

The poor food quality.

The amount of toxins in the environment.

The onslaught on traditional values and insane focus on sex in society.

The emphasis on status above all else.

In America, I came eye-to-eye with the ugly side of humanity. And I'm not talking about just the land whale feminists.

I believe everything in life has trade-offs, always. And I experienced them in the US. In some ways, the US has surprised me positively like no country had. And in other ways, it also surprised negatively like no country had.

And it's with sadness that I've made the decision to leave the US.

In a different era (the 70s and 80s), I might've gone on the same path I did, but with much better results relationship wise. I might've stayed here, become an American citizenship, voting Republican consistently, and waving the American flag on 4th of July, every single year. Fulfilled the American dream - house, two cars, white fence picket.

But I don't think it's meant to be.

You know, a lot of non-Americans talk shit about the US. The evil imperialists. Ah, and don't even get them started on Trump.

But nah, the US has earned its rightful place as one of the greatest societies of mankind. It's right up there, with the Egyptians, the Babylonians, the Chinese, the Indians, the Greek and the Romans. Its impact will be felt for centuries to come and in due time historians will study the grandness of the US the way they study the grandness of Rome today.

Even though I'm not American, and probably never will - in terms of countries, the US will always have a special place in my heart.

I also went to graduate school in the states and do agree with most of what you said. I do believe that on the geopolitical front that the policies have stunk. They made a big mess in some places. They should try to fix their mistakes and make things right but that's neither here nor there just my opinion. You do a wrong you try to be humble and make a right.
On the other side they made some great contributions. Following the Marshall plan after World war 2. Germany and Japan were dominated and rose from the destruction. Maybe not the best example but just take a look at east Germany shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall and even today.

I remember as a Canadian kid watching tv (mostly American channels) and going to the states for the first time. Niagara Falls New York and Buffalo. The arm pit as it's known. Definitely not the shining example. Then on my next trip down to south Florida in boca ratón while I was a teenager. Was blown away with the beauty and lifestyle.

Think the US with all of its faults has more positives than negatives.

I havent been out in stuttgart, but parts of Germany can compete with the best of Europe. I find Koln and Dusseldorf quite good.
