There's a part of me that harbors the fantasy of an older woman who has never had kids. In theory it would mean she's far less encumbered and can focus more on the relationship. In practice it's turned out to be red-flag, not that single moms are great either. Older women in general are a basket of issues.

Every woman I know who is childless and beyond 40 is nuts. It's just sad.
I would say any woman north of 35 who is not married AND has no kids will be showing these signs/red flags to any man who has his eyes open.

I wouldn't go that far. I know a lot of older women who help raise grandchildren, volunteer at nursing homes, homeless shelters and churches. They are generally pleasant to be around and definitely not the types who get drunk in clubs with their flabby arms and gut folds hanging out of skin tight dresses like in the photos above.

The fact is when you don't have kids there's no clear signal to stop behaving like a young adult. It's just that over time it starts to look weird to keep doing it because if you start to look your age people assume you're married with kids and those types of people should be home and not riding the carousel.
BTW, this is purely an isolated anecdote, but the nurse I dated who had paid her way through nursing school by stripping was 39 and she was totally into modern dance music and clubbing. I'm sure part of her interest in dancing was the residual effect of the stripping (as strippers hamster the shame away by calling it 'exotic dancing') but another part of it was her trying to avoid facing the aging process for as long as possible. Of course, all these things come to an end which is why when she dumped me she said she was dedicated to getting married within a year, and she did, to some homely FOB African immigrant. BTW, she also had a cat that she treated like a child. She even insisted on holistic vet care for him (she was big into new-age ala The Secret).
That was one of two relationships I was in with older women who hadn't had kids and they both had gotten to that point due to "issues".

Good advice. I will add by pointing that every so often you do run into an older woman with kids who is great to work for. Most of them are mid-level administrators or managers with a good home life who are just there because their family needs the cash. Not all of them good to work with(some are just OCD or otherwise nuts), but all the women I've known who were great to work with were of that type. It can be especially beneficial to have them on good terms if they're recent empty nesters and you're either the same age or a bit younger than their youngest kid. If they like you instinctively slot you into that "part of the brood" category and can become extremely strong career boosters.

But Father is right, once you are in your 40's you have to really work at being around young women, they truly have nothing going on upstairs.

Easter European women who are 16 are like American women who are 36. Eastern Europe offers a hard life and those women mature quickly, they know struggle and are better for it.

That post was a joke. But if given a choice between hanging around in a bar with older women who dress and look like in the pictures above or going home alone, I'll go home alone unless they have a circle of younger friends that I run in to routinely. In that case, I try to be charming and and flirt a bit with the old leather while not paying much attention to the younger women in the group and see where that goes over time.
I still have good luck with women who are recently out of college (or similarly aged) who have older female friends. Of course it never happens over night, the chick I'm banging now was friends of some non trads at her school. A couple years ago while in school, she wouldn't talk to me or even sit at the same table as us. Out of the blue one night a year after meeting her, she texted me to come over and it was off to the races. The only thing that sucks about it is it has to be on the DL or the old hens would go nuclear.
I am sure my mindset is going to change over the next handful of years though. I have been fortunate to not have any hair loss or grey yet but I know that wall is right around the corner.
As far as it goes talking with young vs. older women, I find I don't have anything more in common with older women than I do young women. Sure, the older women might be able to quote something from Seinfeld or some 80s movie but that's where it usually ends. As long as a younger women is fairly intelligent and can hold a conversation about something without looking at her phone, I enjoy their company. Even if the topic of conversation is lame, at least there is some passion and life in the conversation.
