I think mostly under 35yo, median age 26 maybe

90% male if not higher

Not high net worth individuals for most part, mostly millenials with no assets and locked out of Western urban property markets

Politically distrustful of democratic govt, viewing it as intrusive, controlling and inept (if not corrupt). Wary of govt monetary policies in particular

Most common reason for females in crypto due to dating a guy already in crypto or being his mother

80% university educated, IT and commerce background prominent, many recent arrrivals coming from a stocks and shares background where high risk tolerated

Definitely big in South Korea, Australia, coastal US, Japan, but catching on in Africa now surprisingly

The average bitcoin or crypto trader is;
- a millennial, probably over 20, but not much
- male
- mostly white (70%), Asian (20%)*
- works/worked shitty job/out-of-luck by 10y depressed labour market
- libertarian or follows Austrian economics
- often programmer or tech-savvy
- probably single when he started

*though worldwide I wouldn't know. Asians might be a bigger fraction. But how to know? They don't show up on message boards, blogs, forums, twitter, facebook groups, etc. Relative to Asian % numbers in Western countries, Asians are over represented in crypto for sure (both East Asians and Indians.)

Lots of post-hippy entrepreneur types very interested in Crypto as well.

Know 3 guys in their late 60s early 70s who were all involved in mass-importation in the 70s and 80s (before it became the norm, at least for Australia)

That got into BTC a few years ago. These are guys who made humble fortunes being one step ahead of the market and selling their slice to a larger entity once the writing was on the wall
