The majority of mass shooters are white, and in my own experience, the worst stories of self-harm, hedonism, and broken families that I have seen have unilaterally come from white people.

So basically you have a group of people that has a very bipolar view of itself; on one hand, as the creators of the modern world, the most desirable people in society; on the other, extreme self hatred and feelings of alienation.

My buddy (white) saw his town get overrun with Saudis and Mexicans, parks he played in as a kid get destroyed to make more living space for them. They don't assimilate, speak to each other in their own languages, Saudi women wear the full niqab, and don't give a fuck about the locals. His own father keeps sending him articles about how they need to check their own white privilege. Other whites will viciously attack him for being a Trump supporter. He said he felt internalized shame at the fact that his family gatherings were "so white" -- utterly ludicrous.

I will write more about this in the future, but it is a weird phenomenon that has become impossible to ignore. I doubt things were like this in the 90's or early 2000's/.

My addendum to this is that white Americans are one of the few "upper class groups" to actually be shamed and guilted for the atrocities of their past.

Many groups, such as South Indian Brahmins (of which I am one), Yamato Japanese, North African Moors, and others instituted forms of hierarchy and oppression that were quite similar to what existed in America for most of its history.

For example, when my dad was growing up as a Brahmin in South India, his grandmother would make him take a shower if he ever bumped into one of the lower-caste servants. Lower-caste people were forbidden from going to the same temples or drinking at the same fountains as upper-caste Brahmin Hindus, and were often physically attacked if they tried to participate in religious ceremonies reserved for upper-caste Brahmin Hindus. Hindu caste discrimination also sometimes took more extreme forms. In some Indian states low-caste Untouchables were basically used as slaves and were frequently lynched, abused, and raped.

Sound familiar? It's basically a mirror of what happened in American history, where blacks were forbidden from eating, swimming, or taking a shit in the same areas as white people, and were attacked if they tried to do so. Many were lynched as a result of false rape accusations, and of course millions were enslaved earlier in American history.

The difference is that a South Indian Brahmin like me is absolutely never told to feel guilty, to check his privilege, or to even think about the atrocities of his ancestors. A white person has these things shoved in his face basically everywhere he goes in his daily life, from the internet to his college courses to the "dear white people" posters he walks by on the street.

Feeling somewhat responsible for your ancestors' evils and racism is an absolutely miserable feeling, and only adds to the cocktail of mental fuckery that many whites experience (ESPECIALLY liberals).

I think the above is a big example why Trump was elected. (Not to trigger a membership warning here or anything, but I am not a Trump fan.) At the same time, I feel he is in some ways the monster created as a check or response to SJW overreach.

I know a lot of people here are angry and polarized but you've got to realize that a polarized country is a dangerous state of affairs. I wish it were possible to have a sort of messianic figure who could tamp things back down rather than people having to just file towards one extreme or the other.

For instance, this is a bit off-topic, but when George Takei thought it was a stupid gimmick (and against Gene Roddenberry's vision) to make Sulu gay in Star Trek Beyond, he got burned at the stake by the cast and crew of Beyond...despite the fact that they supposedly did it as a personal homage to him, as well as a virtue-signal.

Then you have Mayim Bialik who got burned at the stake for suggesting that women actually should take some responsibility for their sexuality in response to the Harvey Weinstein thing.

So it's gotten so out of control that the few non-white non-male voices who want to sort of raise their hand and say "ya know, this is getting a little ridiculous" are getting smacked, and what this does, as a white male, is it drives me towards the alt-right platform, warts and all.

College kids love "fun". If you disagree with that sign, it means you're anti-fun, ergo, "anti-cool" kid vibes.

If you disagree you're either an angry dweeb that doesn't respect the reality that men and women are different, or that you can't have any "fun" with the difference.

If you could have that statement (or something similar) superimposed on a woman, her children, in a safe / secure home scene.. meanwhile men pictured outside the home building / maintaining the infrastructure (sewer workers, electric linemen, all the dangerous & dirty jobs women will never do).
