That isn't accurate. Testosterone levels are fairly steady in all ethnicities. The studies show the difference lies in the number of testosterone receptors. Blacks do have a higher amount, but it's like 120 vs 110.

I was speaking in a way to make things simple but for the record we are both wrong-5a-reductase activity, which makes DHT(a hormone similar to testosterone but exponentially stronger-and also the culprit in male pattern baldness), is expressed in a greater amount in black men- and black men tend to have a greater number of receptors expressed for testosterone as well(discussing it in this fashion makes it harder to dig at the Buzzfeed typists though.).

The scary thing about this post is the fact that my mother was harping against soy as we past by some morningstar sausage patties freeze aisle at the store. One of the things that can lead to low testosterone in men today is the amount of products we consume that are load with estrogen or phytoestrogens.

I checked LabCorp's test menu and looked up testosterone, can confirm they DID shift the goal posts.

So many more men are going to fall through the cracks with low testosterone. A 265 reading used to get you on a TRT regimen immediately, but now you'll be pushed out of the doctor's office with him saying "you're normal, don't worry, nothing's wrong with you."

What concerns me is that they glossed over the results. Either they have no knowledge of normal levels in spite of doing medical tests so they should look it up, or they're aware but don't care.

What if they had a mineral deficiency? Would they address it then? Testosterone is just as important god dammit.

This is massive news as Buzzfeed's motivation has probably been the warm and cosy feeling its men feel from liberal women which of course validates its feminism and a sense of acceptance. Whereas higher T men get their views self-validated and also validated through respect from other men which leads to respect (if only begrudgingly) from women.

This thread coincides with me getting my blood test results. My T is just shy of 690 ng/dl. The test results are 4-pages long so if there are other figures I should look into, someone please let me know. I am assuming that my forefathers' T levels were higher though.

I saw this thread, showed the numbers to my wife then opened up the test result I had done from a few years back. I was in the 25-34 age group, and my total T was 903, free T was 29.2. That was after about 6 years of serious lifting. I think I was in the high 700s before lifting, forgot free T number though. My level should be similar now, as I'm stronger, carry a bit more muscle mass and sport a massive beard.

The moment my wife realised how much mine was higher than the average (which I think is pathetically low btw) and those 4 soyboys, she jumped on my lap, tongued me down hard and then gave me a BJ. She nearly burned the crispy roast pork she had going for me in the oven, the naughty woman!

Lift hard and stay away from soy, gentlemen.

I think on an individual level, high T is a good thing. On a societal level, not so much. This is pure theory on my part but if you look at countries where the male population has, on average, higher T - they're usually backwards places. Asia in comparison is relatively safe with all the soyboys running around lol.

Most private biochemistry laboratories do such tests for an affordable price (hospitals do it too and for free, but your family medicine doctor has to write you a prescription based on some tangible symptoms that are making you worried about that).

Technically speaking, it's no different than the general blood sedimentation, blood group, throat swab or urinoculture, only slightly more sophisticated.

On the subject of male hormones, one advice is to not take finasteride (Propecia). Some men take finasteride to avoid male baldness.

Finasteride has an impact on the DHT hormone, DHT = dihydrotestosterone (this is a complicated subject and I am not an expert on this).
