So i'm sitting right now in Copenhagen airport on the way back to shit USA and gathering my thoughts. I decided to extend my trip to Belarus up to a week as I had such a wonderful time there. Originally using the visa loophole for the World Hockey Championships I had somewhat low expectations for the city. I hate traveling "solo dolo" and did not have a wing plus i'm at the age where night game is not very productive as my energy levels tends to fluctuate.

Anyways, pipelining was productive and once I landed in the city I ended up going on date's with a wonderful local girl. When I didn't go on date's and take tours with her, I spent my time at the different bars, cafe's, casino's, and also hung around the fan zone on Pobediteley Avenue wearing my Washington Capitals jersey which proved quite popular with the other fans.

Just some observations below (see if you can spot what is wrong with below picture):


> Men are treated like kings there. Honestly I thought the situation favored men in Ukraine but Belarus is at another level. Perhaps due to the shortage of eligible guys, or perhaps the closed nature of the country (since it is so hard for women to travel west) local men tend to have their fare share of ice princesses to pick from. I saw many women dating down, easily a point down. Guys, with beer bellies and wearing beat up jeans while the women they walked with look better than many famous supermodels. My head was spinning every time I went to Gorky Park.
Minsk metro was full of young, single women riding around. No one talks on them and everyone maintains a serious look but I just couldn't stop myself when a hot girl across from me kept "glaring" in a sexy way at me and then playing with her hair as I was holding my girl. It kept happening over and over. The IOI's were definitely there.

These types of women wouldn't even be able to go 5 meters in a place like Washington, DC without being followed by packs of hungry vultures and here they are dating down and boringly playing on their smart-phone's in parks.

Nevertheless, due to time shortage and flakiness could not really convert them.

Official unemployment is 0.9% in Belarus but in reality is many times higher and according to my taxi driver is pure BS as many people are under-employed.
Take a walk 400 meters away from the Lenin square to the back alley's and you will see what I mean. During the World Championships thousands of drunkards, addicts, and beggars were rounded up by Lukashenko's government and moved away from the city center. They are under constant police watch but this is only temporary and rest assured come May 28th Minsk won't be the glittering problem free city it was for the past month and a half.

They did not bother me and I never felt bad as corruption and bribery is not as problematic as in other FSU states. Actually, I kind of loved it as I was walking around all night long in various parts of the city and felt very safe. Can't say the same for the locals, made friends with many drunk local guys who wanted to talk to an "American hockey fan" (did I mention pea-cocking NHL gear was great) and over mugs and mugs of Belorussian beer (all foreign beer was banned during the Championships) they would amuse me with tales about their "beat cops" which in the thoughts of the local guys are completely useless and just hassle people for minor offenses like jaywalking.

As for other observations I can mention them based on what my "girl friends" and her friends observations in that most girls here even with advanced college degrees work for the state at boring/low paying job's and for them going to a club like Blackhall or Nex is a major excursion such as a "birthday party". I am talking about normal girls, most of whom do not go to clubs. The westerner clubs that the forum members on here mention or stories about SNL's, that just shows a very small minority of the population and if you only rely on night-game you put yourself at a serious disadvantage and bypass the "creme da le creme". If a girl speaks fluent English it is already a red flag unless she can claim that she needs it for her work. If English fluency was around 50% in Kiev here in the area's outside of Minsk it was half of that.

Continuing, the normal girls in the city escape to dacha's with their mixed friends for the weekends, social circle game is #1 here. "My girl" constantly kept mentioning to me how neither her nor her girlfriends would ever set foot in those clubs. Not sure if I believe her but based on all the beauties who I would see just walking for fun on the wide boulevards or smoking at cafe's with their girl-friends (without any guys) late into the night I am tempted to agree with.

Although most of the Arab visitors are there for the type of tourism I don't care for, our paths do cross occasionally when I am in chill cafe's and they see the same targets. They had no shyness about approaching same targets in places like Cafe Union (highly recommend it for people watching and for their great sushi) as I did, though were always very friendly. On Nezavisimosti while I was doing my "research, aka online dating" these tourists would speak to me in English about where the happening places with girls were or how to find specific places like bank XYZ. Although always going out in groups with the vast money spent and exotic looks I sense that the competition will keep growing and due to the men shortage there is definitely going to be a spillover effect whereby some of the Minsk beauties have little choice but to be seduced by our Middle-Eastern neighbors

Which brings me to my last point, the Russian Guys. They are on a completely different level all-together. Many of them play the cavemen game, my friend was approached on a street bench in a span of 15 minutes by several older Russian guys who wanted to "лучше узнать друг друга". Many make quick runs from Moscow to Minsk to hunt for mistresses and secondary/third girl-friends. Many married older guys on the prowl and age disparity is very evident. While on date's I went to fancy places where I was seeing 50 year olds with 20 years. Figured that it certainly wouldn't be another Ukraine but I was wrong in this regard. No one seemed to care about it.

Feel free to ask me more questions but these are just my observations after an intense week of travel and sightseeing there. My hotel was literally used for storage and not much else as I was always "out and about".

@Lucky luke, i recommend you try to pipeline before going to Minsk and if you hit it off use your girl friend as a "private guide". I just don't see how direct game would work on the street, girls are just so guarded, and working the "lost tourist" bit I failed. Then again i'm not an expert player so I'm sure other members would have more positive experience. My dates usually ended around 1-2am and I did not hit any clubs except casinos, cafes, and the outdoor bars that sprang up around fan zone. Some of the cafe's though have a really awesome atmosphere, Union Cafe comes to mind by Hotel Europe.

@EU Explorer, I went almost everywhere in downtown Vilnius. CASH lounge on Vokieciu gatve right off Gedimino Prospekt was off the charts last Saturday night. The ratio was easily 65% women and many were drunk. Unfortunately I couldn't really capitalize as I was there with a date to dance. Also, PianoMan bar down the street is a really great bar playing ton's of 80's music with an under 30 crowd but great ratio and friendly staff and girls. Paparazzo I frequent almost every evening, it is a lounge/bar with extremely high talent, I would post up by the bar near the entrance early in the evening and just chat up the locals (both guys and girls) for info. Same go's for British Pub Portobello on Ausros Vartu street with the outdoor deck full of women but only if you want a laid back atmosphere earlier in the evening or for dates. For clubs I tried Mojo Lounge by Rotuse (town hall). Easily top 5 clubs I've ever been to in terms of quality of women. I was falling all over myself trying to talk to a couple sets and managed to do well. Could have really used a wing while there. The only problem for me with Lithuanian women is the height. Some of the tallest women in the world. I am 5-9" and felt that with their heels easily 30% of the women were hovering around 6".

My russian is quite limited so I don't think I would do very well on night game. Also, do you think a young guy (early 20s) would do better with day game? Maybe despite the language barrier, I wouldn't "scare the cat" with a sex tourist vibe?

Hi Luisaceo,

Congrats on deciding to go to Belarus and specifically Minsk. Did you have any problems getting a Belarus visa, did you go for a tourist one or for student visa since you are studying Russian there?

I think you picked a great time to go as a lot of girls will start returning from overseas to start their fall semesters so you can definitely hit up the under 21 demographic. You will be pleasantly surprised at the talent walking the streets during the day and the best part is that there are nowhere as many foreigners in Minsk as in Kiev, Riga, Moscow, and other 1st tier FSU cities. So if you have okay game the wow factor should be enough for you to get quick dates.
I pipelined my girl using mamba.ru site. I also day-gamed a bit in the area around Hotel Europa. The park directly across from it (forgot the name) is a gold mine as it has very heavy pedestrian traffic yet plenty of benches where a guy can position himself and just wait for the girls to "approach". I think with limited Russian you would do better in night game as many of the girls who go clubbing are looking for foreign guys and thus there is a higher chance that they speak some English though none of the girls I met spoke fluent English. English penetration level was the lowest of all the FSU countries i've been to.

As for the photo it just shows the fact that many local guys are treated like kings and girls are constantly doing the work. Funny thing around grocery stores I was seeing young guys smoking cigarettes while the women were carrying all the weight. Also, dating down is very common...no need to look like a jacked bodybuilder or be "tall, dark, handsome" to land a nice bird there based on my short observation. I am neither of those and did relatively well with 7+ ladies there.
My girl constantly complains how many local guys do not fully appreciate their women. While in front of her I nod, deep inside I feel happy seeing as the work needed to maintain a happy GF is less in the east than west.

@TripleG Getting the Visa has been a pain in the ass. The main problem is that they took forever to get my invitation ready. I first contacted them on early April and I just finally received my visa today, only 8 days before the flight.

   

I'm glad to hear about the wow factor, Belarus really seems like a hidden gem. I was recently in Poland and it was flooded with foreigners although I still had a good time, I guess Minsk will be quite a contrast.

Been here for 5 days, my first impressions:

-I might be a bit biased since this is the first FSU country that I visit (I believe Poland doesn't count) but I'm quite impressed with the average talent. Girls here are a point cuter than in Poland, there's also definitely more blondes. For some reason, girls seem to be almost taller than men, at least more so than anywhere else I've been to. They've got cute faces and great legs. Thick butts are not uncommon but I see less busty girls than in Poland.

-Even though Belarus is relatively "isolated" when compared with Poland or Western Europe, this seems to be changing. I live in an area where there are many university dormitories and there are plenty of Africans, Middle eastern and Turkish guys studying Russian language. The blacks don't seem to go out much as I barely see them in the city, most of them hang out with african girls who also study russian. Most of the arabs are no competition since they speak shitty english and almost no Russian and they have the worst looks and style. As for the Turks, they are definitely very thirsty but I've seen some with decent game and style, so I mainly hang out with them.

I had a short conversation with her friend who showed some interest but they both had to leave to get the metro. I'd rate both girls to be solid 8's

Luisaceo, keep the reports coming and please report on the nightlife as I think it is way better there than day-game. In your case since you are there for 1+ month you should not worry about the game learning curve so far. Just concentrate on learning the language more, especially try to pickup some slang that the younger crowd uses.

It took me almost 2 weeks of very persistent online chatting and follow-ups to line up a few dates in Minsk when I arrived there in May. The response rate was very low and I was messaging girls in both Russian and English. I was even talking to girls who knew near 0% English and had not had their profiles viewed by too many suitors and frequently I still could not get them to respond consistently and to show up in-person. I noticed in Belarus social game is quite important and many girls go out in the same social groups and with the same guys they've known since high school days. I stayed there for too short a time (1 week) to be able to infiltrate mixed set groups but I think you need to stop going out with your fellow international students and instead make friends with some local guys. Since you don't want geeky student friends who just hang out in college pubs watching football, I recommend you try making friends at clubs. One can be surprised how far a cigarette or a drink can go towards meeting a capable wing-man for a night.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep trying on mamba but I'll focus on night game. My friends here are not geeky, but yeah maybe I should try to hang out with local guys. I was in a club called max show last night, its 5 minutes away from Dozhari. The place looks like a cinema from outside, its not very well indicated. The entrance was 120,000 BYR (8,6 EUR). We had to pass a metal detector and get frisk searched like when you're at the airport, it was really wierd. It was full but not totaly packed and there were slightly more guys than girls. The talent was very average for belarusian standards i.e cute girls but no "wow factor". I noticed all the cute girls were either with their bf's or dancing by themselves on the dancefloor enjoying the male attention. The crowd was mostly early 20s, with a few older couples and some old guys drinking at the bar.The place is just a big circular dancefloor with 3 bars (one at the left, another in the center and another in the right). There's some tables where I only saw ugly girls and old people. In the entrance between the toilets there are some quiet sofas and two other bars that are more relaxed. I think the best spot is the bar inside in the center, cause it's closer to the dancefloor, I saw more girls there. I was waiting for my drink when a cute girl (7.5) touched my ass several times and started teasing me. She was with a friend, also attractive. I started dancing with both of them and joking about a gun tattoo the friend had on her leg. It was going so well that I started wondering if they were semi pros, but it turned out they were just attention whores and they left before I could escalate. Later I opened a cute blonde with a simple "Do you speak english?". She sort of didn't and she laughed at my russian. She also didn't believe that I was from Spain and I had to show her my passport. The attention whores returned and this time I used them to get blond girl jealous, but I went back to her before the AWs left. I got a heavy make out with blond girl and I almost fingered her in the middle of the bar. I could tell she was horny as hell but my logistics suck and I was too drunk to think what to do. Eventually she gave me her VK and left. I saw her later talking to a short latino looking guy. I've just checked her VK and I think that was her bf... anyway overall I had a good time I left at 5 am or so, the place was starting to become a sausagefest. Even though I went there with friends, most of the time I was doing my own thing, so I'd say going solo shouldn't be a problem. Also we were the only foreigners in the club along with a turk that knew one of my friends.

Sounds like the place I tried to hit up back in May but decided to skip it as the crowd looked too young (I am 35). 120,000 BYR is a fortune for the locals, wonder how they could afford it...?
Speaking of clubs have you thought about checking out Club Next? I know it's a place with some semi-pros/pros but at the same time it attracts lot's of foreigners so little Russian skills would be needed there and from what I've heard the ratios favor the guys.

I know, the city in general seems a bit expensive, I don't know how the locals can afford it. I was in coyote club on Saturday (near the national library of belarus) and the prices were the same more or less. There's a bowling place just next to the club where drinks are cheaper. In coyote english was more common and the girls were a bit cuter. I'm starting to think that Russian is not 100% needed here, its definitely a plus, but it's not impossible to find quite a few english speakers. The ratios were very good, I got there early and had dinner with a friend (the place is like a high end bar-disco) and there were like 3 girls for every guy at 11:00 until around 2:00 when the girls started leaving. The crowd had a bit of a snobby vibe, but there were a few approachable girls although most were in large groups (there were 2 female bachellor parties). I got a couple of fb's but I was tired from Friday night and I wasn't in caveman mode. I was getting long, non sexual conversations with girls that were going nowhere. Anyways the place is worth a visit I think, at least it wasn't a sausagefest.

I haven't heared anything about club Next, but apparently the semi pro problem is quite big in certain clubs, specially in Dozhari, which I think I will avoid.

Very brief report from my experience in Minsk:

Spent 3 days there on a train adventure from Beijing to Rome in Nov 2014.

For those who don't want to bother with the visa, there is a "hack" (at your own risk). If you guys are up for it, its pretty easy to "sneak" into Belarus from Russia via train since the 2 countries are so close both governments count the overnight train ride as a "domestic" affair and the train doesn't get stopped at the border since virtually no tourists use it. You can take a train back out to Russia on the way out. If you get caught you could play the "confused tourist" card i'm sure they would let you off pretty easy. Most likely you'd be caught on the way out not the way in.

I can confirm this is the case when I last went in 2014, though times may have changed, I do not think trains from Russia stop at the border in either direction.

If you end up getting interrogated by the KGB don't blame me (and yes they still have a secret police there called the KGB)

Their currency is worthless, I still have stacks of 50 rouble bills back home which are worth one tenth of one penny each. Even my north korean currency I kept as a souvenier trades higher.

Speaking of North Korea the whole country had a bit of a throwback dictatorship vibe, but maybe not as much as you might expect. Still, you can still see soviet flags and the hammer and sickle in certain places. Hot girl soldiers marching in goosestep is not an unusual occurence to see in downdown minsk (giggity ) . And then there are lots of large posters of the "dear leader" of course including one very orwellian massive jumbo screen in the center of town reminding everyone that lives there whose in charge.

I remember going in November and girls would be oogling at me left and right, granted this was a few years ago. Problem is I didn't speak a word of Russian and nobody spoke English.

It seemed like the drabbest and most miserable looking city on the planet. There is no reason anyone would come visit here except freak tourism.

We went out for the nightlife 2 different nights, I could tell it was extremely limited. We partied at some super expensive club with the 1%, of course they spoke English but bitch shields were high and they were fully westernized. Did not party with the 99% as doing as requires Russian.

For a city its size it seems the nightlife is tiny, which is not suprising since you probably be have to be in the richest 0.1% to even think about "nightlife" in this city.

It seemed like girls were very interested in foreigners there and is by a longshot the least westernized country in Europe, tons of beautiful girls, but also seemed very old school and conservative. Also Belarus is shockingly poor as well FYI, and I think they've been goign through an economic crisis making things even poorer then when I was there in 2014 since the oil price collapsed and their sugar daddy russia has been falling apart, so things are probably even worse now.

Got lots of tinder matches but no time to really follow up with them. Again, this was 2 years ago.

Unless you speak Russian, I wouldn't bother, unless you want to take a peak into "europes last dictatorship" But if you are going just for the freakshow aspect, transinistria in eastern moldova would get your rocks off a little more.

If you're going for the girls I would stay a few months, this could be a good place to find your wife and get her out of that terrible shithole. For ONStands unless you are some kind of jedi I don't think you'd get much ROI. It seems like all girls here are overworked and downtrodden and don't have time for that western playboy shit, they just need a man to please after a long day tilling the fields.

Minsk is a modern city, with plenty of very rich (Russian) visitors and a first class infrastructure. The girls did not seem desperate when I visited it and I can't say I noticed the "overworked/downtrodden" view that you are talking about. The only real complaints I heard was about prices of goods being too high and salaries being too low.

- Minsk is not shockingly poor. It's the most expensive city I've been to in eastern Europe.

You guys are right and my subjective 3 day impression of Minsk in some random few November days was obviously really off compared to what its actually like so my apologies to have mislead people, it was not my intention. I would listen to the other posters here, my impression is only from a very quick passing 3 days on a tour.

Since i have recently relocated to EU from USA I had a couple days off work and decided to make a short flight to Minsk and take advantage of their visa-free 5 day travel (valid only if going there via Minsk International Airport), to sight-see, practice my Russian, visit a friend, and enjoy the night life. I arrived to Belarus on October 26th and was greeted with snow on the ground already. Temperature ended up being barely above freezing for the next 4 days with constant rain...This had a negative effect on me as "day-game" was really only possible indoors and number of people on streets and going out in the evening was quite low. Chance of long-term shitty weather is definitely something to consider for you guys when visiting BY. Basically November - March you want to avoid.

Although I am a veteran of travels to Belarus I may say that some things surprise me and others do not about this country and especially Minsk every time I visit. The positives outweigh the negatives. As always landing at Minsk National airport is a pleasant experience as you are immediately confronted by border guards who tend to be all female and near model-material. You can see 7's+ in all types of government and service jobs, no matter how low-key these jobs may be. I even saw a young street cleaner at Gorky Park who would be considered "model material" in the west but here no one pays attention to her. Almost all the local guys are dating up and the only guys dating down are the foreigners. Of course a Belarus 7 is still an 8.5 in the West so many of these foreign guys you can see walking with a grin on their face as if they just struck the lotto.

One thing I absolutely love about Minsk is the cheap rental properties. This is still one of the few European capitals where you can get a nice flat in the heart of the city for less than 30 Euros per day. I stayed at a remodeled Stalin Era apartment overlooking Square of Victory and had a fancy cafe right below my window, a 24 hour pharmacy next door, a private balcony overlooking Gorky Park, and metro only 100m from my window. There is no point in staying in a 4 star hotel here and paying 150 Euros per night when in even better locations (for example by Holy Cross Cathedral) you can get the same via private apartment. When I stay in Minsk I tend to use booking.com for my reservations.

To continue my observations one thing I noticed is that there are negative aspects of the west creeping even into Belarus. Compared to last year I saw more tattoo's and piercings on girls, more goth and hipster types, girls with short hair, fewer high heels and dresses now and obsession with phone's.

Just being pleasant, speaking (or trying) Russian, well-dressed, and going to the right places can yield good results. Thank God the local girls don't seem to expect the guys to be "tall, dark, handsome" as in the west nor do you need to game super hard. I would listen in on a lot of conversations from couples and saw local guys gaming. They would be direct but pleasant, there was no need for clown game or witty lines as in the west. Girls here tend to be much more on the serious side and calculating which is something that I totally love since I am not a particularly funny guy.

I noticed that the number of foreigners hasn't really changed. I was expecting a disaster like Kiev, with groups of foreigners of questionable backgrounds going there for a "certain type of tourism" and although it is a growing problem you won't see too much of it except for a few places (more on that later). I saw a slight uptick in Spanish/French tourists but these guys should not be much of a competition as to be honest almost none of them speak Russian, stick in groups of 3-4, drink heavily and are there short-term for the weekend. Unlike the past I got the feeling that many girls are no longer that excited to talk to foreigners and really just go out with their girlfriends to "shoot the breeze" as many have dull, low-paying jobs in the government sector and what they are really looking for is more local guys who can do provider game (pay for dates, drinks/food, take them to dachas, etc.) but not necessarily for them to leave the country or to struggle communicating with guys who don't speak Russian well enough.

Speaking of foreigner factor I saw no difference in reactions when I told girls that I was from one of 3 countries...mind you in other places like Russia they'd at least be curious but here the only one's who seemed to like a bit of the exotic factor were the male patrons at the various pubs I frequented and even then they just wanted to practice their English/German with me. If I did have to pick I would say the best reactions are probably reserved here for the Scandinavian guys however even then it's a struggle. I look Scandinavian and speak near fluent Russian but had to put in the work with limited results.The date I was with on Friday was constantly telling me about her wish to travel to Switzerland and Germany but even after 4 hours of touring, and wining/dining I could only manage a kiss.

A Russian guy I met at The View told me that he kills it here On Tinder and I saw him with a blonde bird who was about an 8 but then again he struck me as a competent, rich player who can do "provider game" well. Las year when I tried Tinder it was okay but I didn't have the energy to keep chatting and had tours lined up every day so never fully pursued leads. To be honest online game here reeks of desperation and seems to be used more so by the very young generation (under 21) or the older cougars who missed out (over 35). Neither one of this age groups interests me though. Girls i've spoken to her tend to meet guys via social circle, usually formed during their university days.
Also, it does not help that the average marriage age here is very young and by the time they are 25/26 many already have a kid...Unlike western capitals (even one's close by like Vilnius and Warsaw) on average there is a higher chance in Minsk that the cute 26 year old you meet on the street will have a ring on her right hand or will mention that she's married.

One thing I did notice is that the prices for food/drinks have gone up tremendously since the last few times I visited. A cocktail at a good bar (like Calvin Coolidge bar near oldtown) set me back 15 Rubles, which is around $7. Other places like 442 bar (great place for Sports) were charging 20 Rubles for cocktails. Food prices have also gone up so it boggles my mind how these places can stay in business or how the locals can afford some of these places since an average salary is only around a thousand rubles per month and you don't see that many tourists around who would frequent these places.

As for places I recommend since i'm in my late 30's I prefer lounges or music clubs (TN'T Rock club in Minsk is one of the best i've been to recently, especially if you like Hard Rock/Grunge Music) and quieter places with a view and not typical clubs playing techno/dance which attract a younger crowd. Insomnia bar in Old Town was quiet nice, had good conversations there with locals and the crowd is a bit older so not bad to hit on girls in their mid-late 20's.

I ended up visiting Double Tree Rooftop bar and also The View (which is the highest lounge in Minsk on 28th floor of a business center). The former place had some of the highest talent i've seen in my Euro travels; it is literally the major leagues of game in Belarus. However did see a lot of hookers and semi-pros. I approached a lot of sets with Traktor (fellow forum member who lives in Minsk) only to be asked couple sentences into the conversation where I was staying.

As mentioned earlier some of the sex tourists were the typical older Italian/Arab guys propositioning them openly. Did not stay long at this place but did make a note that if you catch one of the few regular girls at this place then you'd be a happy guy as I saw almost no girls here below 7's and one's competition were mostly the foreign guys looking for P4P or the rich looking Russians who already had girlfriends/mistresses and were there for a date.

The other place I mentioned The View had a nicer scene but did not have many people both times I went. I did make a note that it is the place to take a date if you want to impress her. The views were incredible (reminded me of the Golden Circle Hotel in Moscow), the drinks selections ridiculously good and certainly the best "exclusivity" vibe in the city.

As for my personal experience this trip I was there for only 4 days. One difference is that due to the lack of time there was no point in gaming much so just going for numbers to get some quick validation was sufficient for me. I found the girls less interested in my "exotic" factor and I feel that with the slight increase with foreigners visiting the country and the exposure via various media about life in the west (and how f#cked up things are in most countries with the politics and violence) most educated girls no longer have feelings of moving to the west or seriously dating foreign guys. For them visiting Mediterranean beaches couple times a year is sufficient. They seem to have accepted the fact that they live in a stable country with low unemployment, almost no crime (this is still a police state after-all) and many free government services such as universal healthcare, subsidized energy prices, and free higher education.

Also, just to add an example I was sitting at a pub and overheard a conversation between a German guy and his Belorussian girlfriend. The German guy was chubby and about 10 years older than his girl, who was easily 1.5 points higher than him. Obviously a regular in Minsk as his Russian was advanced this foreign guy and his gf were mostly speaking about work and her travel plans. This girl was planning a trip to see him in the near future. On multiple occasions I heard her saying that she was satisfied with her current situation in Minsk and did not want to move in with him in Germany even though he tried to put forth various arguments for her to move.

Solid post. I spent a few days in Minsk during the summer and got similar impressions. There's more of a Soviet vibe and less of a Western vibe.

Way more tattoos that I would have expected, but it's a fashion trend that's blown up worldwide so not too surprising. Let's hope it passes soon.

During the summer there were quite a few girls wearing dresses, so the winter weather probably reduced that. As you know, in EE the standard winter outfit is fuck-me boots, tight jeans, and a short hooded winter jacket (kurtka).

I'd like to spend at least a month, but the visa situation is not ideal for me. I prefer getting long-term multi-entry visas so I can come and go whenever I want, but everyone offers only tourist invitations for specific entry and departure dates.

If you enter into Minsk airport from one country and depart to another (e.g. Enter from Kiev and depart to Poland) is this ok as long as it is within 5 days? Also can you get this health insurance at the airport itself?

Yes and yes. I flew in from Latvia and flew out to Ukraine. Mind that visa exemption is for 5 days also counting the day of arrival, so basically 4 nights.
