His album Professional Rapper, came out in 2015. Solid album, hilarious throughout but this guy can actually rap.

His voice is annoying but his flow is better than 75% of rappers putting out new music and he raps about his actual life without coming off as cheesy as someone like Macklemore. Lil D is my new favorite white rapper (excluding Em, obviously).

Lil Dicky can rap. He is just doing it in a way that allows him to have mass appeal and he admits that much. If you have listened to the Professional Rapper song then you should be able to tell.

Comparing anyone today to Gangstarr is pointless. While Kendrick and Cole pale in comparison to the level of competition in the 90s they are the best we have to day. That's just the state of the game.

This is an important point.

The golden era of hip hop had a message. It had feeling, passion, culture, etc.

Modern hip hop is sold wholesale for club hits to bitches to eat it up. Sure there are still some serious artists out there, hopsin comes to mind, but most of the shit that get serious play is shallow substance-less club beats.
