To answer my own question, I just walked into a pharmacy in HCMC (District 1), and they sold me 4 generic Cialis pills for 150K dong (about $6.67, or $1.67 each), no questions asked. Not that I expected questions. $1.67 per 20mg pill is not cheap relative to the better online pharmacies, but it is definitely easy to get.

I was here about two decades ago. The difference is huge. Roads are good. Motorcycles loaded like pickup trucks on rural roads are now the exception and not the rule, and most important of all, no children begging or selling trinkets on the streets. The only thing that remains the same is vehicles weaving through each other at intersections and somehow miraculously traffic flows. But back then it was one car per hundred 50cc Honda motorcycles, and often a very old car, and now there are many more cars, mostly modern, and larger motorcycles. Altogether, solid progress.

Update: later, I found a pharmacy at the corner of Ly Tu Trong and Pasteur that sells that generic Cialis (called Casalis and made in Vietnam, by the way), for 50K less, that is 100K for 4 pills 20mg each (or USD 1.11 per pill). The regular pharmacist there is a nice lady who speaks better English than most, so as long as you are in District 1, I highly recommend it.

I think that's a Good point.
If you do bring a girl to the west, it's better if she is not total pushover. A lot of People in big cities like NYC and LA would not hesitate to take advantange of you, its good to seem not a push over.
Some thais are so seemly agreeable they wouldn't say no or anything when a problem arises. That can be a problem if they are out.

I've talked with a number of Vietnamese girls who were around 100 lbs soaking wet, and they would say things like, I have to watch my weight, or I'm getting fat. Some of them went on "diets" to make sure they didn't get any "fatter". Fat shaming is alive and well in Viet culture, especially by parents, but even other relatives and friends. Being sloppy and fat is being seen as a failure, especially for women. Vietnamese can be extremely blunt people. You either appreciate the straightforwardness or you get butthurt. I have a thick-skin so I like knowing where I stand with people. Coming from the America or any place with large numbers of really fat people, it can be hard to imagine there are still places where the expected norm is to stay slender.

I've also had a number of girls tell me outright that they like me, but they are afraid that some Western men only want sex with an Asian girl and not a relationship. They've said this even when I haven't been overtly sexual in conversation. Overwhelmingly, they want a LTR with a man they can lock it down. Most Vietnamese girls want a serious relationship, whether with another Viet guy or a foreign guy. They want you to be invested in them, and they will invest in you.

Just a few of the things Vietnamese girls have said to me:

• You stay up too late at night. You will get ugly and old fast if you don't rest more. I'm worried about you!
• I like you, but you're too handsome. I'm afraid you will get other girls on the side.
• I like you and want to be in a relationship with you, kiss you every day. If you cheat on me, I will kill you. (Followed by lots of smile emoticons and lots of sweet talk.) Haha, that's Vietnamese girls in a nutshell, a bit hard to crack but ride or die if they really have fallen for you.
  

Feminine versus assertive aren't always polar opposites. For instance, it is well-documented that EE women like Ukrainians and Russians like playing cat and mouse games with a man, making them chase back and forth with hot and cold tactics. These are women with long hair, nice dresses and can even be very affectionate in a relationship. Still, they are used to more alpha men who take charge, even if these women are feminine, they can also be brutally blunt if they don't think you're living up to the job.

I think the difference between EE women that are feminine and say Vietnamese women who are feminine is that you actually will know where you stand with the Viet girl, because she's going to tell you without a filter. The Russian girl, may or may not share her feelings, may or may not respond to texts quickly etc. There are different flavors of feminine women in the world, but some of them play the game more openly and some keep the cards close to their chest. Personally, although I'm attracted to EE women physically, I find a lot of the game-playing exhausting. Not surprisingly, I'm more biased in favor of Vietnamese women because I like that they are blunt and tell you what they are thinking. They can be emotional and moody at times, just like any woman, but they put serious effort into making a LTR work, which is the major thing that counts for me, as I'm not trying to rack up unlimited notches.

She's mentioned that she's open to dating and marrying a foreigner, as long as he shares her values. She doesn't hide her intentions to try and get married. She's even said that at 22 she only has a few more years left! Lol, can you imagine any Western woman saying that? As a man looking to start his own family, I find it very attractive that many Viet girls think like her. If I told her to "explore her sexuality" with a bunch of different men, she'd probably just stare back blankly and say "you crazy man!".

Culturally speaking, they are in it to win it, and winning it means getting married and having kids. There are certainly some "bad girls" by Vietnamese standards, especially from the big cities. What's interesting is that even when I've talked to the "bad girls" who have slept around or even had tattoos is that they are still more pleasant to talk to than their Western sisters with similar behavior. I wouldn't suggest marrying any of the "bad girls" from any culture, but I do find it interesting that even the "bad girls" in Vietnam aren't anywhere near a Toronto feminist level of horror.

Regarding your girl saying she will kill the other girl and beat you, that might not be that far from the truth. Vietnamese girls are tiny, but they are very passionate. Viet dudes are the same way in my experience. Pleasant enough if you are respectful to them, but if you cross them, look out. Seriously, don't give impressions that you're into relationships if you want a lot of side action. Better to be honest up front, because their expectations are a serious and loyal relationship, not playing the field. If your goal is to rack up notches, you should target girls who aren't interested in LTR's, otherwise you just might find your pad vandalized if she catches you cheating. I'm serious, these girls (multiple ones that I've talked to) EXPECT LOYALTY.

Pretty much. I'm sure there's a contingent of bar girls and more Westernized chicks that gravitate towards being more slutty. Overall, I'd say the average girl is pretty clear in her intentions of wanting a committed relationship. If she is in her mid-20's or beyond, she is in serious husband-hunting mode. Viet girls are pressured very strongly by family to find a good man to marry, and being a slutty sleep-around-the-block kind of daughter is seen as a failure. Losing face isn't something that most of these girls want, because so many Vietnamese families live under one roof until they get married. It is not that uncommon for multiple generations to live under one roof. Even had one Vietnamese girl say she preferred to marry a foreign man not because of money so much (she was middle-class) but because she didn't want to live non-stop with a Vietnamese mother-in-law. Apparently, the mother-in-laws can be a bit pushy and overbearing according to her.

I've been to Saigon on vacations over the past few years. I'm not really into Viet girls after dealing with them.

In my experience, most of them have abhorrent personalities. not really feminine, and -- like others have said -- are cunning and conniving when they want something, but not exactly bright. anything above a 6 will take 2 or more plus dates to bed, requiring a decent amount of effort. Saigon is not exactly a great city. I don't see the appeal of living in Vietnam when there's Philippines or Thailand, even Cambodia, unless you're just after lax visa laws and you've got an online hustle going while trying to live cheaply starting out.

If you are talking about living there, I guess there's some truth to it. Saigon is just a place to work, not really a great place to enjoy, unlike BKK.

However, in terms of talent, for Thailand, I found that girls were a little more fake, or flighty as compared to the Vietnamese. Also, there is no need to worry if a pretty girl is a ladyboy in disguise. Found it easier to score in Saigon compared to BKK, so would like to hear your perspective on this.

As for Cambodia, I was there a couple of years ago, it's a diamond in the rough. But found it difficult to score with normal (aka non working) gals, since they are expected to be chaperoned with a friend/sister, and Phnom Pehn is a small place, so reputation is important. Maybe it is different now?

Not Zerdame, but same as you, VietnamCupid transitioning to Zalo / Whatsapp / Viber; and Tinder. Had 1 second date notch from Tinder, 1 SNL from VietnamCupid, and 1 second date notch from VietnamCupid.

Had another Tinder date who bought bánh mì for me on the first date, seemed receptive to some physical escalation, couldn't pull as I had something else set up, but went cold after that date. Wonder why that was?

Typing this on my phone so pardon the errors.

Quick update: Met up with Cleanslate and a few other gentlemen last night for a quick drink. Didn't stay long cause everyone had to rush off. Had a date following my meet up with CS, was a Vietnamese 8(to me at least) was a sweet little thing, these girls really know how to melt a man.

Got her back to my apartment but only got a make out. Was a darling so didn't want to force her into anything after she said she needed to go back thrice. The girl has work the next day and lives an hour away from me.

3rd day here and 1 lay so far. Today is by far the most relaxing day of the trip with no sites to visit and no dates scheduled. Will be looking to poke around the city and do some day game, will be looking up to meet up for a longer time with the boys again in the city. Wish me luck!

Alright gentlemen, I have just gotten back from my trip in HCM and this is my experience:

6 days, 3 lays, amount of money spent excluding accomodation and flights: USD222

I arrived in the morning and wasn't immediately impressed by the quality at the airport. Normally the best looking girls of a place work at the airport but those at Tan Son Nhat International Airport weren't very impressive. Cutest girl was the one who helped me with my Vietnamese SIM card. Got a 4GB data only SIM card, can't remember the exact price but I believe it was 13 dollars(?)
For those arriving in HCM for the first time, skip the whole taxi problem by getting an Uber or Grab, its generally cheaper than cabs almost all the time. However if you really need a cab, get a Vinasun or Mai Linh, be careful of fakes, I saw a Vinasat and almost got in!

I arrived at my airbnb located right at the heart of District 1, my landlady was a hot 29 year old milf. She wears a full face of make up and short shorts almost every day and would put any western 29 year old to shame. Actually tried to game her but more on that later on.

I wanted to get all my shopping done in the first day so I went down to Vincom Center, which is the mall with all the international fast fashion brands. It's also a place where all the young HCM girls go to buy their clothes. In my experience, because the malls here are tiny and crawling with guards, not the best place in the world for mall game. Even Vincom, you couldn't hardly approach Girl 2 without risking Girl 1 seeing.

I went back around 6 because I was supposed to have a date come by 6.30. At 7.30, she still wasn't here and I was pissed. Finally came at 7.45pm when I had a good mind to walk out and do some street pick up thinking she flaked. Arrived in her scooter, two milk teas(a recurring drink) and 2 banh mi(Viet sandwiches) It was a sweet gesture as a way to apologise for being late, I accepted it. First girl I have already 'boyfriend' before hand and I sexualized the conversation prior to coming so I knew she was dtf on the first date. Her face is a 6-7 but her body is a 9, this girl has a straight up model's body. I initially thought she was alittle weird since she wouldn't look me in the eye at all and constantly looked like she was nervous. Met up with CleanSlate, Buakaw and other guys from the forum at a craft beer place. Talking to the man whose journey through SEA I have been following since he first packed up his bags was a pretty big moment. I left first because I had a date. This girl eventually became the highlight of my trip, she was the one I was looking forward most to meeting. I video call all my dates prior to coming to Vietnam in order to screen for real faces beyond the photo editing apps girls use and also to build comfort levels for the girls. This one was the cutest. At only 155cm, she was mixed french-vietnamese and I was really looking forward to seeing her in real life. We arranged to meet at a cafe at 8pm but after learning my lesson from the night before, I stayed with CleanSlate and the guys until she texted me that she had arrived at the cafe before I left, I just told her there was a jam.

The date went well at the cafe and I suggested we head back to my place to "watch Youtube and movies" on my internet TV back at my place and she was okay with it. Once I got her back, I slowly stepped up the kino and we eventually started making out but she stopped me short at taking off her shirt saying she needed to go home. The girl lived an hour away and most of the advice on this forum to not push too hard on the first date so I let her go, didn't want to ruin my french-vietnamese set.

Day 3: Its the day I had no plans and no dates. It was simply a day to go out and feel HCM. Had the ambitious idea to day game, insta date and SNL with a girl but while that's possible else where, I didn't manage to do it in Vietnam. I went back to Vincom around mid day and asked this 1.8m girl where the best pho place was, she spoke perfect english and turns out she's a student but also some sort of "online model" and she's apparently trying out for Miss Vietnam so there there! She was really sweet and offered to show me some of the shops of the local vietnamese designers. This girl comes from money, she's the only one who spoke English without a Vietnamese accent and has traveled all over the world but she was only 20 so in a way still innocent and protected by strict papa and mama. She was the only girl who 'fought' with me to pay for the bill and wanted to buy me a gift even though she was the one bringing me around. Good background, hot and sweet, definitely girlfriend material. She was flying off to bali the next day so I got her Instagram. She later followed up with me through DMs on some local designer festival when she was already in Bali.

I headed to Lush, the best club in town. My club game is self-admittedly weak. I'm just not in my best form in a club so after a few hours, I left empty handed. Not the best person to give club advice but Lush is generally quite conducive for game, girls are willing to talk and flirt with foreigners. Saw two guys walk out into cabs with girls so with good game, you will score coming to Lush. Best part? There is no cover charge. Not sure about Saturday but I went on a Friday and there was no cover, you just pay for the drinks you get.
