Caribana game for me is to go up to get the hell out of downtown, go to Muskoka, and clean up on hot babes at the Kee to Bala

RE: What's the matter with Toronto? Seriously...
Just read that Mike Bullard -- a popular radio talk show host and comedian in TO- and use to have his own tv talk show -- 59 years old was fired from his job at CFRB bc the girl he was dating for about 9 months - a well known TO news reporter - Cynthia Mulligan -- charged him with criminal harassment. Now he is broke and may be close to homeless with no work opportunity.

TO girls can be dangerous. I have stopped doing anymore approaches in TO. It has just too many minefields and is too nerve wracking. I need to travel and seek opportunities outside of this hell hole.

News article on Bullard is here:

https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2016/11...sment.html

Mon., Nov. 14, 2016

Popular Toronto radio host Mike Bullard has been charged with criminal harassment in connection with the alleged stalking of a television reporter he had dated.

The five charges — criminal harassment, obstruction of justice and breaching conditions to stay away from the woman — were laid in three batches between September and November. The first set of charges led to Bullard losing his job at Bell Media. The former standup comedian and television talk show personality has been host of Beyond the Mic With Mike Bullard on Newstalk 1010 since 2010.

In an interview Monday, Bullard said the charges stem from “a bad breakup” and it is “a very personal thing between me and her.” Bullard is due in court Wednesday to receive additional disclosure from the Crown attorney assigned to the case.

“I phoned her twice after we broke up,” said Bullard, 59, during the interview. Told by the Star that the charges relate to allegations of hundreds of text messages and calls of a harassing nature and visiting her home in violation of a court order, Bullard said. “OK, maybe I called her three or four times.”

Arthur Stern, Bullard’s lawyer, said his client is facing a “very private, personal matter” and is dealing with “serious personal issues.” Stern said Bullard is receiving counselling. He asked the press to show his client “the type of sensitivity he needs to deal with his personal issues, which he is doing in the best interests of everyone.”

The target of the alleged harassment was City TV journalist Cynthia Mulligan. Mulligan, a Gemini-nominated local news reporter, is travelling on assignment overseas and could not be reached for comment. In 2010 she spoke prominently on television and in a widely read blog, “Kicking Cancer,” about her battle with breast cancer.

Cynthia Mulligan, a Gemini-nominated news reporter with City TV, is the target of the alleged harassment by Mike Bullard. The pair had been dating for several months until this past June.

Bullard and Mulligan dated for about seven months beginning in 2015 and Mulligan broke off the relationship in June. Over the summer, Bullard allegedly texted and called Mulligan and refused to stop. According to the first charge laid against Bullard, Mulligan feared “for her personal safety” as a result of Bullard’s actions.

In late summer, Mulligan made a complaint to Toronto police. Detectives from 55 Division contacted Bullard and asked him to stop. When the behaviour allegedly continued, police laid the first set of charges on Sept. 21.

Shortly after that, Bell Media removed Bullard from his job on Newstalk 1010. A popular host, occasionally resorting to vulgar comments on social media, Bullard had a loyal fan following who have taken to Twitter wondering why he left so abruptly.

“Where is Mike Bullard?” one person tweeted. “Miss him. He is the best. Bring him back pls.”

Another tweeted, “Why will NewsTalk 1010 not say what happened to Mike Bullard?? As a fan, I should at least know why he is not (sic) longer on at noon!”

According to the police charges filed in court, Bullard’s pattern of harassment continued. On Oct. 12, he was allegedly spotted at Mulligan’s home despite a court order to stay away. Police allege that he was also seen at her home on Oct. 16. Police again warned him to keep his distance from Mulligan and laid a second set of charges on Oct. 26.

Police laid a third charge against Bullard on Nov. 7, alleging obstruction of justice, stating that he contacted Mulligan in October “indirectly in an attempt to have the complaint withdrawn.”

A spokesperson for Newstalk 1010 and Bell Media would not say if Bullard was fired or resigned. “I can confirm Mike departed 1010 on Oct. 5,” said Scott Henderson. “Mike’s show had been part of the Newstalk 1010 lineup since 2010, when the station was owned by Astral Media. Bell Media acquired Astral and its media properties including Newstalk 1010 in July 2014.”

Prior to being on 1010, Bullard was the host of two television talk shows, Open Mike with Mike Bullard on CTV and The Mike Bullard Show on Global.

In 1999, the Star’s Rita Zekas reported on his meteoric rise (TV Guide’s national poll ranked him as “Canada’s favourite talk show host”), noting that he had quit university to work at Bell Telephone, then joined the Peel Region police force, but quit because they wouldn’t allow him to moonlight in comedy clubs. He returned to Bell and worked his way up to associate director of corporate investigation before taking on comedy full-time.

In his interview with the Star on Monday, Bullard said the charges, and losing his job, have hit him hard and added: “I have nothing.”

“I’m going through hell right now. It’s something I didn’t do,” Bullard said.

Sources say there have been discussions about resolving the case with a peace bond, including conditions that Bullard stay away from Mulligan. If a peace bond were agreed to, there would be no trial and no finding of guilt.

Shitty deal for Mike Bullard, I forgot all about that guy, never thought he was funny though.

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

RE: What's the matter with Toronto? Seriously...
Anyone familiar with current state of real estate in the city?

I've been away from Toronto for just over four years now, and I'm seriously considering making it my home base again. Been all over the country and this city still has some of the baddest bitches in the country, if you can navigate it correctly.

What's the condo situation out there after decades of non stop construction? I'm considering buying a condo in the city. But the fees are generally high for what's being offered, in some cases they would easily double the total monthly payments. We're talking $500-1000 per month of maintenance fees on a 2 bedroom condo near the lake. The craftsmanship also has me a little concerned, some of these condos seem to have been built with one eye closed. Alternatively is it worth it to buy a house in the greater area - Scarborough, Etobicoke instead of a condo in the city. Not interested in any suburbs.

Or is it better to just pass?

The market is bubbly. Condo market is cooling off a bit as lots of inventory is coming online that has been in the construction pipelines.

I wouldn't buy if I was in your position. Lots of flaws with all these condos. They are apartments and they are fine to rent, but using them as a investment vehicle is short-sighted IMO. Where is the flood of people who will buy these condos off people in the next cycle? Look at the trends now for big builders and institutionals who are skipping building condos and just building rentals. If big money isn't going after condos anymore then it is silly for the little money and little guy to go chasing them as well.

Craftsmanship is a big thing that people overlook. Lots of these new builds are being put up with scotch tape and glue sticks. Units that bleed out energy and perform poorly. Shoddy window joint systems that don't have a long lifespan and will degrade in 10-15 years with pricey replacements and renovations. Elevator breakdowns constantly with quick fixes due to shortage of elevator engineers. All this points to is the need for obscenely high condo fees to take on massive renovation and fixes for massive future problems for these buildings.

You are better off investing that cushy pile of money you have and just renting. Investing in RETs that do rentals would give you income and a wealth building investment.

A house will always hold its value better. Many areas in the city such as the old York area that is around Weston and Black Creek will see big swings in appreciation in the near future.

Stay away from Toronto and Canada, but if you have no other choice:

Buy a house instead of a condo
Rent part of it out (at least a basement apartment)
Get handy: learn to fix things

There's a bit more to it that that, but those are the basics.

Source: That's what I did and it's working out so far.

If single, DT is only place to be

Agree, most condos are not quality. If you were to purchase one, older buildings tend to be a better bet. Forget those with the 'window walls'. Ie most of the new ones.

Of course houses better longer term bet, although more $ involved.

Dodgy

Well you have to stay + in this newly cold assed weather we've just gotten over the weekend, lol. I actually have just finished having a convo with a Co - worker half my age and he's just given up with women here. I'm like: "Wow son it's that bad? You only 20 years old and too young to be thinking that". Of course luckily for him he's half Dominican and ventures there quite often so he knows not to fall into spending life fixated on these Toronto women with inflated egos. We're going to have to hit some spots together says I.

An update on Miss EE. Got my first ever Slovakian flag over the weekend. Had never been with a guy sexually outside of her nationality...until past Saturday that is. Simply a pleasant woman to be around. Hard to believe she lives right in the midst of the belly of the beast (I.e: "The entertainment district".

Truly un-TDot-like in her persona and mannerisms I must say Lol.

Yeah, this cold is killing the vibes, but the broads are now in hunt mode for D to keep them warmed up for the winter.

I don't do day game, but this is the prime season to just lay it on girls you come into contact with, all are in hunt mode for dudes and are always going to want to test drive out the lot for a bit.

Do you get any traction with 'Happy Hour' type setups?

I always fond just being suited up and walking around like a boss in the Bay Street are was enough to get looks and attention. Day game though isn't my bread and butter and it's hard to tell who is purely a Graduate School intern, and who is an already jaded 25 year old broad.

I have heard mixed things about this, but remain curious, as Toronto does not have a 'Happy Hour' culture per-se like other cities (i.e. D.C.) but you will get enough volume and activity in lots of the downtown lounges in the warmer months. I am just not sure if it is a social vibe or more work circles who just go out and have drinks. In D.C. it is very much a social vibe and you can game broads like you would at night in some instances.

I was talking about lunchtime, that place has the highest concentration of hot girls anywhere in the city. They all go out for some sunshine and to blab with their girlfriends at lunch on the long benches that surround the green space.

I've never seriously tried that sort of happy hour gaming, but I suspect it would be good for meeting quality girls who are LTR oriented. All depends on what you're looking for...

I wrote my Montreal impressions in another thread. I couldn't believe that a place so close, only a few hundred km's away, could be so radically different in its sexual market place.

Quote: I was just in Montreal for 2 days for a brief tourist trip.

I could not believe how many couples I saw where the girls were dating DOWN. I saw at least a dozen examples where guys were dating UP. Think out of shape, below-average looking dudes with cute girls or definite 8's.

On the other hand, I saw more of the SJW/extreme liberal type than I have say, in Toronto.

Still, I can't possibly imagine how an above-average guy with some game awareness wouldn't kill it in this city.

Even If you see some couples in the street of MTL ,that does mean anything . MTL sociale circle mentality is very strong due to the european vibe , so thats why you see girls dating ugliar guys. whereas in Toronto , if you are better you will get the girl. Try to cold approche a women in MTL and in Toronto and you will see a different behaviour.

So you have to choose , between sociale circle game or cold approches game.

I personnaly , i hate gaming conservative womens of MTL.(of course not all of them are , but i compared to Toronto , MTL is still conservative city)

If Toronto is easier, I would love to see you come down here and show us.

I doubt it you have been to Toronto.

Nascimento is a stand up guy and has no reason to lie or exaggerate.

The average guy here is dating down, that is plain to see. To secure something decent you need "game" and a real strong frame.

Loads of guys move here, thinking this place is going to deliver. Then when the reality sinks in, they go into depression or they run away.

Toronto is way easier than MTL if you are better looking, MTL is a bit easier in summer cause many tourists come and many quebers leave.

Hi Captain, I feel what you are saying entirely. However, to say Toronto sucks (if one lives there or claims there as their home) is similar to conceding defeat in oneself. No matter what the truth is, self preservation is the first order hence the rigorous defense.

Casa nostra by the way Idea

I went for a week there , clubbing only one night. First thing i have noticied , girls quality is less than MTL , however competition is also weaker. And guys are less aggresive there compared to MTL.

Was not a paradise , but ratio of succesful approching is higher , one of our freind was too drunk we couldnt enter many clubs, the one we entred , i managed a make out in my first approch, i also notcied that girls in Toronto give you a very clear eye contact , any way ,we did made out for an hour and tried to leave with her , but got cockbloked.

Even when the club closed , this cute girl start talking to me in the coat check line , she also liked my french accent , started asking me so many questions , then when i said i am leaving tomorow , she became less interessted.

Nothing happened but attitude wise , Toronto girls are better , in Montreal since you enter a club , you will notice the high bitch shield due to many aggresives approches .

I also got two ONS from Toronto girls here in Montreal.

So thats why i came to conclusion , Toronto is not a paradise , specially in girls quality , but i prefer it to Montreal.

Hit Ottawa if you want my advice , lived there for one year, white girls are so open to sex. and i found quality is high there specially if you are into white girls.

casa, all the residents and natives of Toronto get winks and nods in Toronto. The lizards can tease etc but at the end of the day, if the shag doesn't happen then one can't say it's better than Place B. I don't know anyone who had issues getting winks etc in Toronto. Banging a Toronto lizard outside of Toronto doesn't add any weight to Toronto being better than anywhere else. I know a lizard in Toronto that got banged in a tin shed in Cuba. I know another one who got thrown out of the place at 2am in the morning in Kingston, Jamaica. Doesn't mean one can pull that of on the home turf (Toronto).

RE: What's the matter with Toronto? Seriously...

Yes thats why i said , Toronto is not a paradise. You really struggle to find a slim in shape girl in TO. But according to my small experience , even the beautiful ones , have nicer attitude , and helps to escalate. At least you keep your confidence high to do more approches.

Rejections in Montreal are really confidence killer. Girls here are so evil.

If i had to choose a city in the east cost , maybe Ottawa-Gatineau will be the first.
