Two totally different games. I can't really remember Jordan so I can't say much other than what I've seen on recorded games. He had a quick first step and was explosive.

With Lebron it boils down to this:
Lots of screens and pick and rolls that wear a defender down
He uses his physical ability to wear you down. Stay in front of him and you have a chance but once he gets those shoulders by you then it's over

Kobe was more in the line of Paul Pierce. He had a few sweet spots on the floor that he liked to get to to score. A defenders goal was to not let him to get the sweet spots on the floor as a way to defend him.

Everyones game was different so it's hard to compare those guys.

Kobe was like Paul Pierce? What the hell are you talking about? Pierce wasn't anywhere near the athlete that Kobe was.

I am not saying Paul Pierce was as good as Kobe. I'm just saying that if you look at Kobes game then you will notice he has certain spots on the floor that he likes to work from. Similiar to what Paul Pierce's game. It's just Kobe was much more athletic and could get to the basket from those spots.

My top 5: 3 Centers: Wilt, Kareem, Russell (no specific order), Jordan, and Lebron. Lebron took 8 teams to the finals--one of them had no business being there. If you took Lebron off this years Cavs--they would win 35 games. I think Lebron has done enough to be considered better that Bird and Magic. But Magic is close -- if you put Magic in instead of Lebron, I'd understand.

Olajuwon would have to be in the top 5 centers, in my book at least. The dream shake hasn't been replicated to this day. Made Shaq O'Neal look like Humpty Dumpty.

I actually forgot the game was on tonight. Tune in at half, score is 86-68 for the Cavs.



If the Cavs win tonight, theoretically they have the same chances as they did last year, down 1-3 and Game 5 on the road.

Seriously. Wtf.

Granted, maybe the Warriors want to lift the trophy on home soil. But when the stakes are so high it's hard to believe they'd toss the game.

I'm in the Kobe is slightly overrated camp. He wasn't the most efficient player. He had a good team and had a little luck.

Garnett got hurt the first year he won as "the man" and Perkins got hurt in the finals the second year. Plus we all know Lakers were the beneficiary of the worst refed nba game of all time against the Kings in 02.

I will say though since Adam silver took over, the refs have gotten much better. The lottery is still fixed though. There is literally have no reason to do it behind closed doors but they still do.

What an insane first half that was btw. Refs are calling lots of fouls which is why there were so many points

It appears that the league is staging games to generate more revenue. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes all the way to seven.

I didn't watch the game last night. From what I've read online (NBA reddit) it seems many agree the officiating was off last night. But there's also the fact that the Cavs were on point in every way. So who knows.

It would be a logical business idea to stage it through to G7 for revenue. But in practice it's extremely unlikely. I guess we'll find out - if the Cavs make it to game 7 without sweating blood to survive the next two games, the answer will be clear.

One thing's for sure. The Warriors team won't want to repeat the dreaded mistake of last season, and lifting the trophy in their court will be added motivation for them come G5.

To be fair maybe that wasn't his original intention. He might have thought about passing it off as he frequently does on the drive. When he was in the air he saw Tristan was well guarded. He did what he did because he had space and it was a higher % than a floater.

I just had a flashback about a player from the late 70's, early 80's who you never hear about anymore. Anyone remember Lloyd Free?



6'2'' point guard out of NYC, already balding in his twenties, muscly like a bulldog, massive legs, nicknamed World because he could hit a jumper from anywhere.

One day he thought, yeah, that's me, and had his name legally changed to World B. Free.

One of basketballs all time characters. One of the softest and most improbable jumpers, high arcing, launching it from so far back on the side of his head he looked like it came from the back of his head:

I remember a couple of times he lit up the Celtics and the Lakers in their prime for 40 points. He also didn't mind mixing it up with fans. When I lived in Berkeley in the early eighties, you would get sightings of him at the college gym, telling people he had to show up now and then to remind college players what was what.

I miss these NBA characters.

Last night was a bad look for the NBA.

It wasn't even rigging, as some people have said - it was just pure incompetence and disorganization on the refs part.

Great player in his own right, although lacked the speed & agility of Hakeem. More of a "fundamentals" guy, most big men aren't flashy so this is expected. I'd have him possibly in top 10, definitely 15.

The other 2 powerful centers in Hakeem's time were Shaq & The Admiral. Hakeem was way better than both.
