DUP will not influence the Tories any way whatsoever on social policy. They'll be bought off by public works and ag supports being shoveled their way. However, DUP will bolster the remainers and soft-brexiteers within parliament to drive for that which is non-negotiable for them. They will refuse to support anything that puts a hard border between NI and Ireland.

I can see how May can keep her premiership after the summer and certainly not through 2018.

They may not be as good as Farage and the UKIP of 2015, but they're fine

Well, this has worked out rather well. May resigning and the DUP influencing Tory policies? Even when the Left has small wins, they still lose overall.

Obviously within 2 elections or so Labour will have established complete dominance via indoctrination in schools and bringing in more immigrants who tend to vote for them. So the UK is fucked long term. Now is the time to get your exit plans in place. I would to hate to leave our beautiful island but I really do fear it will completely shit within 10-15 years.

Seems like if a woman is in charge, she needs to be really based like Marine LePen or Margaret Thatcher, or she'll just screw the whole thing up because she doesn't project confident authority. So, if Boris Johnson takes over and runs things like a man, the Tories should romp on the next election and finish this globalism nonsense for good.

This is an unexpected funny turn in what was meant to be an incredibly boring election

I'd bet my right bollock it was.

Or rather, May was manipulated by the forces that really pull the strings.

Politics isn't what the Establishment pretend to us it is.
A huge part of it is just an illusion.

What the crooks can't accept is that we're sick to death of Brussels and the immigrants.
But some people swung back to Labour because they're sick of sinking wages, shit services and May cronies like the Eton gang, Starbucks, BAe etc getting away with everything. We're also sick of the "Blair babes" that Blair used to destroy left of centre politics ie globalists/luvvies ie priviledged, immigrant/homo loving men hating shysters
who should really be in the Liberal or Conservative Party.

Some may find this interesting -

The more I read on the election results and its consequences the more it is clear what an unmitigated disaster this is for the Tories and a strong British leadership. May has used the word "stability" to describe pretty much anything going forward. However just leaving things alone and going on with business as usual after Cameron's exit is exactly what would have provided this. Now she's in a far more chaotic position and yet has the gall to remain in her set by quoting, yeah... Stability.

The DUP is an interesting partner for sure but native Britons have never cared much for their Irish counterparts and I can't imagine that relying on them to secure a majority is particularly popular. For all their Catholic ideas DUP are also proponents of a "soft brexit". So May's greed in seeking support for her future reforms and EU withdrawal has now massively backfired. She could have just let it go and steamed ahead with the current seats but like an insecure chump she had to go "do you like me, please tell me you like me". Well guess what, people despise shows of weakness and neediness.

Not all 'leavers' are equal in their outlook. Corbyn compared to many Labour and certainly lib dem is more 'leave'.

DUP will be completely against anything the interferes with the current border policy with ireland.

Boris isn't a panacea for immigration hardliners IMO. He'll be willing to push for hard-brexit and give up the common market but he'll look to really make it easier for commonwealth citizens (and americans) IMO to come in.

As they should, as Northern Ireland having a hard border with Republic of Ireland would force many Northern Irish brexiteers to rethink their position on leaving the EU and remaining in the UK.

Remember that even during the worst of "the Troubles" there was no hard border between NI and ROI, and that businesses trade freely across that border (an arrangement separate to the EU) and that the Common Travel Area (free movement for work or living) between the UK as a whole and ROI has exited for 70 years. Additionally, many commute across the border (both ways) for work, and families live on both sides of the border.

There is absolutely no way a hard border could exist between NI and ROI. It was used as a political stunt by the NI remainer parties (especially Sinn Fein) to scare people into voting to remain.

Additionally, Sinn Fein want the hard border, as it would cause massive disruption, loss of business/jobs, a crash in the economy and living standards on both sides of the border and that is when Sinn Fein would gain more recruits and potentially act to unify Ireland. Under their control of course.

I think people need to come to terms with the fact that no one in the house of commons wants the Brexit we do, and that will not change unless UKIP get back in

the closest to 'one of us' is someone like Liam Fox (Conservative), who wants immigration down to 10,000 a year

UKIP are not in parliament.

On realistic and relative terms, the DUP coming in and a Brexit PM(if it happens, it may not); better result than before the vote

The DUP, a nice bunch of people.

DUP members in the past have stated that they believe the Pope is the antichrist, they are about as Catholic as i am Chinese. In general Catholics in Ireland are more for a united Ireland, and protestants believe in the Union.

I reckon that guy's either a posh bloke pretending to be "working class". Or just a complete nutjob.
The comments he has to say about working class people are moronic. If he is a real person, its the best advert I've seen against democracy in ages.

I had to switch off half way through so I didn't get to anything he had to say about Brexit.

Catholic IDEAS. Not Catholic. Big difference.

I specifically used that phrase since they ironically enough used to be the protestant party.

I understand I'm probably hamstering

But hopefully this exposes that the Conservatives are NOT the party of Brexit and low immigration

We were begging Theresa May to carry out an abortion essentially

If this opens the window to Farage coming back, while simultaneously not throwing it to Corbyn, who knows

I don't know what to think. Brexit definitely won't happen with the Tories in any way we want it to, and that referendum mandate is being buried more every day

This country is fucked long term, we are just constantly shifting to the left and it's getting faster and faster. Remember last year how there was a furor over the 'slut-shaming' of the now ex- Miss GB being stripped of her title for sucking off some man on a reality TV show? Even only 10 years ago there wouldn't have ever been any argument against that.

May is a marked woman and will eventually get kicked out of Downing Street either by Labour or her own party. The DUP are not good bed fellows and you're going to annhilate the slim hold you have when people realise what they want.

Chaos will reign and we welcome Comrade Corbyn and Marxism 2.0 Laugh

You're right about that. I've already left but I fear for those I've left behind. Every time I return it gets worse and worse.
