RE: The Soccer Thread
Another Italian manager, another Premier League title. We own this league.
We should send Serie B managers to Premier League nowadays, it became way too easy for Italian coaches to win it.
When was the last time English manager won it? Perhaps 20 years ago?
Even this stat shows that English are clueless about football. I'm waiting when Big Sam or Pardew will win it.

RE: The Soccer Thread
Antonio Conte is.
Just like Ancelotti. I mean even loser Ranieri and Mancini won this league. Should be pretty easy.
From now on, coaches from Verona or Carpi will want to go to Premier League, since English teams pay 4x or 5x more than Italian teams and relatively way easier to win the title
I mean, come on. Pardew, Big Sam and Paul Clement somehow get to manage teams in Premier League but they still couldn't do what Ranieri did in one season. Forget about winning the title, did they ever finish in Top 4?
Einstein is right.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
English managers clearly won't get you anywhere as everyone can see because English people don't know football.

Rossi has a point. I would've loved to see Lippi in England. I think Allegri will be in the PL soon. Ranieri will get another PL job. Would like to see Mauricio Sarri in the PL as well at some point. He has a keen attacking mind which would translate well.
I loved Serie A in the 90's but Rossi doesn't have a point. only 3 premier leagues were won by Italian coaches, Wenger alone won it 3 times, Mourinho won it 3 times as well, Fergusson alone won it 13 times.
Also the 3 Italian coaches who won the premier league aren't random coaches, Ranieri didn't win the Serie A but he won the cup, Mancini won the Serie A 3 times with Inter and the cup 4 times with 3 clubs. Ancelotti won the Serie A, the Italian Cup, the UEFA cup, the Champions League and the club World Cup with AC Milan.

Does it say English or British? Yes, Sir Alex is not English. Scotland have their own league, if you didn't know. I don't think you've been in Scotland in your life. I have. If you call any Scottish person, an English, do you know what they will respond to you? Not very nice things.
Let's talk about Pardew, Big Sam, Hodgson and bunch of other useless English managers. Will they ever win something or should we start sending you coaches from Serie B?
Let me enlighten you little bit, since I've read it in La Gazzetta Dello Sports this morning. Only 9 managers won title in England in past 25 years:
Sir Alex
Dalglish
Wenger
Mourinho
Ancelotti
Mancini
Pellegrini
Ranieri
Conte
That's right, there's 0 English manager who won it in past 25 years. That's some success
2 Scottish, 1 Portuguese, 1 French, 4 Italians, 1 Chilean (even though Pellegrini is also Italian too.)

Football is almost identical in England and Scotland. Also Dalglish spent the vast majority of his playing and managing career in England, so that hardly supports your point.
And I have been to Scotland, for the record.

RE: The Soccer Thread
Why all the hate for italian football and Italians? The only thing people can come up with to criticize Juventus on this thread has been match fixing. That has nothing to do with the team they have now and Real Madrid definitely have the better side of referees' decisions in UEFA Champions' League, that has been the case for years now. As I've said before there's no point in hating or being jealous of Juventus or other italian teams or managers. Other clubs should concentrate on improving themselves.
I would be curious to see how some Serie B coaches do in the EPL, because some of them are real old school italian coaches. Conte himself came from coaching Serie B, I think it was Siena. One thing I notice is that they all start from the back, they get their defence prioritized first. The rest comes after, and they play out from the back. You can see it in a lot of Juventus goals even at the highest level, Buffon to defender to wing back to midfielder, 1-2 with attacker maybe then goal. Some teams like Sunderland just look like they need complete overhaul, and Man Utd are defensive but overly so, wasting their most talented creative players with negative tactics.
The SPL is like a mixture of lower Serie B and mid-high Serie C teams maybe, italian equivalent. Brendan Rodgers gets sacked in EPL, goes up to Celtic and wins title by 20-30 points. Celtic goes to UCL, gets knocked out at group stage with quite a few embarrassing scores as well. Celtic at the moment are by far the strongest in SPL, there is no competition. As for Sir Alex Ferguson, he is a unique manager with long tenure who cannot be replaced, a one-off. Amazing how he kept a squad going and overachieving towards the end of his reign, to win his last title. It shows in how things all fell apart after he left.
It is true: Gary Neville is a great pundit and with his understanding of football you would think he would make a good manager. He goes to Valencia and gets his ass handed to him. I still think he should get another chance though, sometimes football is random and one situation is a really bad fit while another club can suit a manager very well.

Ugh, the SPL is terrible. I support a team in there (not one of the old firm) and I try to catch a game on the interwebs every once in a while, but the quality of play is low. The chants used to be classic, but the authorities have cut down on sectarian singing so it's all good family fun now.

Only one embarrassing score (7-0 away to Barcelona). Drew 3-3 and 1-1 with Man City? 1-1 away to Borussia Monchengladbach? Celtic would do fine in the Premiership. If we had the access to Premiership money we would be in the top 4 within 3 years.

I'm really impressed, I had to check and the average attendance for celtic is indeed 55k. Sure popularity is important but it's not everything.
You need to have a good school providing generations of players to maintain a certain level if the recruitment doesn't go well, you need a worldwide brand to make more money and attract better players, and then there are other factors like team management and recruitment policy ...
I'm not saying that Celtic would be bad in the premiership, just saying that it's not that easy to settle in the big 4.

Yes, that's why they are failure in every major tournament during my life time which is last 36 years.
I mean, come on man. Iceland knocked them out. It's Iceland. 400,000 people live there and people can't even train because it's cold 360 days out of 365 days.
What more do I need to say?
It's not one time, not 2 times, not 4 times. They're always failure in every single tournament in Euro's and World Cup in past 40 years. They're bunch of over-paid footballers in England who suck at what they do.
They don't have success internationally and they don't have success club-wise even though they spend most money in the world. So, are you trying to tell me that English are great in football?

That's not the point. You're keep dodging the question. Let me ask you again.
My question is: Did any English manager ever win English title in past 25 years?
Don't pull Scottish names like Ferguson or Dalglish. Don't say Scotland and England have same style of football excuses.
Question is simple. It's called English Premier League. Did any English-born manager ever win title in past 25 years?
(For the record, Glasgow isn't in England.)
Neville got fired from Valencia. Tony Adams is at Granada. Guess what? Granada is 20th place in La Liga and already relegated. Thats what happens when you get English manager You stay in last place.
