The only gringo in Guatape? Guatape is full of gringos during the day. I've spent a couple nights there and although there are far less gringos at night, there are still plenty of them. Maybe there are certain areas that have less gringos, but there are lots of hotels and hostels and they even have an Indian restaurant, which when I went was full of strictly gringos. Maybe you were there a long time ago, but in the last 3 years I've gone several times and always see gringos.

Maybe I was there in offseason? It was definitely rainy season. And this was 2013. Maybe it's gotten more popular since then?

The only guy I met in a month that spoke English was a Colombian that used to live in Boston. I hiked up to the Rock almost every day for that month and I didn't even see any Gringos up there.

I didn't see the Indian restaurant. Is it new? I would have gone because I was getting tired of Sancocho and fried trout every meal.

I think a lot of the gringos just take a bus to el Penol rock, climb it, take some photos then get back on the bus and go back to Medellin, basically a five hour day trip. Many don't even go past the rock and into the town, I didn't remember seeing too many foreigners in the town but of course there were tons at the rock. I stayed in an awesome Airbnb rental a couple of miles from town, cost $250/night but we were five guys so it wasn't a big deal, Guatape is a cool spot but I wouldn't want to stay for more than a couple of days.

I got a little bored at times. But I had super fun. Since I stayed there a month I got to know people and made some good friends. In a little town like that, it only takes a few days before everyone knows who you are. They're bored as shit, too, so if you're a foreigner then you're exotic and they wanna hang out with you.

I have some crazy stories from that place. That shit was fun as hell.

Colombian local here, I partially agree with you, colombian girls are overrated, but it depends on where in the country you are at, I find the average colombian mediocre-looking and shallow, with the exception of Paisas who are more influenced by european genes (shallow still but there is more quality in antioquia), but here's the catch, it depends as well on the "estrato social" you are living in, bogotanas from estrato 1 or 2 are the most ugly, disgusting and stuck up bitches you could ever find, whereas if you are in the richer zones of bogota (which all the Americans and europeans get to see since you guys have the paper) you get to see genuine beauties in more quantities, that is either for their paisa ancestors or european genes as well.

There's one article by roosh that states how to tell if a city is a good city for a man, I can tell you from being a local, that Bogota is a nightmare, terrible ratios, less femenine women, overwhelming abroad competition, still I'm not whining, I'm working on my lifestyle to get out of this rut I'm in, cheers guys!, if you need any honest view or advice for Colombia culture and the like, Hit me up.

For most of us Westerners Bogota is great in comparison to our home cities. Even if it's two guys for every girl in a Bogota club (just making that number up) it would still be a better ratio compared to most bars or clubs in North America.

For the clubs that I went to, it was near 1:1, very few foreigners or at least visible foreigners and not tons of other competition for the single girls, although it seemed like most of the hottest girls were with a BF.

It's great as well because of your SMV compared to local men is higher in terms of resources (this one is crucial) and looks, and you have this foreign vibe which is pretty attractive to women here, I realized this when having months without a date, I went to Gringo Tuesdays which is famed for being a great spot for picking up colombian chicks, me and my colombian best friend tried to game 2 nice bogotanas with no success, just these high bitch shields and scornful looks rolas are famed for towards other colombianos, nearby there were 2 french girls and a hot brazilian, way hotter than these two colombian girls, I just had to glance at one of the french girls to have her dancing/grinding close to me, and i didn't even have to kiss her, she kissed me and so did the brazilian with my friend, other colombian man who was making out with the other french told me later on, we're here because colombianas don't like colombianos, well we have some better european pussies here so fuck them, Game is so interesting, cheers mate.

I have been in Colombia for one month. In Bogota there are an abundance of hot girls in most parts of the city. In Medellin there are super hot girls in maybe 4 suburbs, with the rest of the city full of ugly girls. I prefer Bogota.

I just left after 3 months, I will be heading back soon but definitely not for the women. I am 65, the women I am after at my age are mostly fat and lazy. Have too many kids and let themselves go. It is pretty bad compared to other places I have traveled.
