I was just persuaded by a long term member of my starting line up (almost a decade) to fly out to Seattle for a week and accompany her and her friends on a trip to Bend, where they have rented out a house.

Does anyone know anything of the area?

I will post info during and after my trip.

I probably won't be doing much gaming, although this girl is freaky and would definitely be down with a threesome or moresome if I set it up.

I went out for a interview 2 years ago.....bend and medford...

mainly family, cabins, and suv's.........nothing really going on

Pretty much this. There is a good amount of young people there but it's pretty close knit social circle kind of shit. That being said, if you're into winter sports and beer, Bend is a pretty fun little spot.

If you're going I would just go to have fun and enjoy the nature there and don't expect much opportunity for game. That being said, during things like spring/winter break and 4 day weekends there is some pretty crazy partying there from UofO and OSU. students migrating there. There's a lot of vacation rentals that college kids rent. If you find one of these areas you can just walk around and bounce for party to party.

The downtown area of Bend is pretty small and there are mostly bars and restaurants. It is a town for people who love the outdoors and people tend to dress more casually. There was a very large upscale residential building boom with people buying second homes that they do not inhabit on a regular basis. Also, there were direct flights from the SF Bay area for people getting away for the weekend which makes for a strange mix of people during the summer.

There is an excellent climbing area just north of Bend in Terrebonne named smith rock.
There is skiing near by at Mt Bachelor. ( This might be a good place to game )
Also, near Mt Bachelor people hike up the South sister mountain to view the nearby mountains such as Broken top, North sister, Mt Washington
Some people in Oregon also travel to "Sunriver" which is to the south of Bend, Or I have never been to Sunriver, so I have no idea whether there are opportunities there.

So, I will ask some people about crashing OSU and UO parties that was mentioned by Caramel C. Mt Bachelor might also be worth a visit.

Definitely look at the web site Yelp and then click on nightlife.

The downtown Bend area has been pretty rapidly up and coming the last few years. There are some newer bars and lounges that are pretty swanky. I actually like nightlife there, even though it's a small town. You get a fair amount of snowboarder/skier/outdoorsy chicks, and a lot of these are young, hot and athletic.

If you like beer, there are quite a few solid breweries in town: Deschutes, Silver Moon, and 10 Barrel are all good.

For bars, I dig Astro Lounge and the Old Mill Martini Bar. I've seen good ratios at both these venues. The downtown area is small enough to where you can just walk around finding the happening place as well.
