< Fantastic news - the mini-ice is gone - the temperature should have been shooting through the roof if CO2 had any meaningful reaction - actually beginning form the 1880s it should have created paradise on earth. Unfortunately as a green gas it does not amount to much.

Yes, it's more about Trump having common sense, and because he is his own man,
being able to speak up and challenge the increasingly out of whack modern dogmas.

Global climate probably only rises due to solar variations or extreme geologic events like the basaltic floods in Siberia that led to the Permian mass extinction. There is evidence suggesting that these basaltic floods increased oceanic concentrations of Nickel which promoted the population explosion of Methanosarcina which ended up belching a shitload of CH4 into the atmosphere and the climate rose because methane is a greenhouse gas that can actually do some damage unlike CO2. This is all very confusing right now. Trump had two options the day he became was inaugurated.

A: Become one of the most loved presidents in generations, and set up his family to become a potential political dynasty, or

B: Turn your back on virtually everything you ran on and become the most hated president in history.

I had several questions about Trump while he was running, but I figured that a guy with an ego the size of his, who has a net worth of 5-10 billion dollars, and is 70 years old would at least try hold the majority of his promises.

Things still aren't clear right now what's actually going on, so I'll refrain from making any conclusive statement and leave here with what I believe are the only possibilities of what's happening.


Option 1: Trump is a genius and still on our side. He talked to Putin and Assad and had all of this planned out so that he could kill off the war mongers praising him.

Option 2: Trump's fucking stupid and being manipulated by everyone around him like he's a child.

Option 3: Trump was threatened somewhere along the line to start towing the line. Family members threatened, etc

Option 4: Trump was a part of the plan from the very beginning, and the real powers have the same dirt on him as they did/do with Clinton, Bush, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, Sanders, etc


Option 1 and option 4 seem the most likely to me. Trump clearly isn't stupid, and I don't believe he would change everything over a few threats to his family. Remember, Trump and his father both have had ties to extremely shady people. A few threats wouldn't do it.

So it's either that Trump is a genius and we just need to wait, or option 4.

Look - of course it is 99,99% likely that he took part in Epstein's parties. The charges against him by the way were not about pedophilia, but about underage teenage girls who suddenly later changed their minds sniffing a payoff. That is why he got released so soon.

Whether Trump can be compromised?

Agree with Zel's post - and regarding the options I have to say that option 3 is the most likely. Remember that Trump has been talking about the bad path this country has been on for 20+ years!! There is also no way he would have been able to pull off such a high energy campaign that was so consistent with his beliefs and put his heart into all of it.

Things only changed once he got into office. I think things look pretty obvious.

Let's get back to the OPs point: concern about Trump going wobbly in foreign affairs because of Syria.

My hope is that it is not so. My thinking that this is all about bargaining position in getting a coalition of nations to take down ISIS-land -- Trump style negotiating tactics, ie, stake out the most extreme position and later settle for what you want.

Even now this is his greatest priority. If Putin abetted Assad's use of WMD, he's using that to pin Putin to Russia's greatest international interest: controlling Syria and keeping Assad as his bitch.

Since that's the most predictable element in this equation, and since taking our Raqqa and ISIS means scattering of terrorists to their closest point of escape - like Syria - locking Putin down in Syria to take care of them is in their congruent interests.

In strategic terms, it amounts to using your rival power to secure the most important variable in achieving your ultimate end: pacifying this region, and leading allied nations to do it.

If so, I call Trump's negotiating stance the present circumstances smart.

Not a lot of critical thinking in this thread.

Of course Trump met Epstein. It's a small world in the Billionaire tier.

If Trump had engaged in the pedo parties they would have released footage of him during the general. The worst they had was the trump pussy tapes.

For all we know, Trump was instrumental in getting charges brought against Epstein had he witnessed something at one of the parties. The speculation is just really over the top. I get that you hate Trump irrationally, but that doesn't mean you need to lose the ability to reason on other things.
