I wouldn't call this an "experiment" and this certainly doesn't show whether Russian men are improving their game or not. The guy is a son of an oligarch and a professional youtube whore. I remember he made a video where he made a hobo drink his own piss in exchange for money. He got a lot of hate for it and later said it was all a joke and claimed it was fake (he proved that the homeless man was an actor and he was drinking juice or something). His videos are called "деньги решают всё" which roughly means "money solves/decides everything".

I didnt need any kind of ticket to get a visa. Most likely they will recommend you to buy the tickets only after getting a visa.
In my experience, the consulate workers dont give a damn about someone in a hurry. Like in Mainland Росси́я, they have their internal bureaucratic rules and they follow it to the teeth. But this was my experience only direct with the consulate. I can't say what happens if you deal with a touristic agency, maybe such agencies can handle the things easier/faster for you... if they have some connection$ inside the consulate, but in fact I dont really know.

I am planning a trip with a buddy to Eastern Europe, with a chunk of time in Russia. He is American but parents from the middle east, he is tall about 6.4, but does have that unmistakable middle eastern look. Im your standard Caucasian Australian. Im just wondering about issues with racism now in Russia and Eastern Europe? Any input from guys on the ground would be appreciated.

Well, it depends on where in Russia. If you go to Grozny they will think your friend is a local :-)
I can speak only about Moscow, here I also have a Russian friend who looks pretty much Kavkaz (this is how they call what you probably mean with "unmistakable middle eastern look"). He said that since the terrorist acts in Peterburg, the police/oxrana is stopping him more often, logically, specially in the entrance of metro or train stations. He is musician and sometimes has to carry instruments by metro, in such cases the cops always stop him to check the gear. He always cooperate with the authorities. But he came up with the idea to leave his blond gf carry the gear when he is in a hurry for concerts lol
It is not really a question of racism (I am not saying that there is no racism here), it is rather for security reasons, so I think this is ok. It is their country, they can do whatever they want.

Finally read through the entire thread. Regarding Washupvet's story, I can believe it. A good friend of mine went to Russia several years ago. He was sucker punched in broad daylight, and managed to sprint away with blood streaming from his nose. That is some outrageous shit, and I never heard of it happening anywhere else.

I've got 2 ex Army mates who all went to Moscow to learn Russian at Moscow Uni for 3 months.
Both report no issue in SDL both met chicks down to fuck .Both are pretty alpha, one is short one is tall.Not your office worker types .Both can fight, both whore ,both pick up with no issue.I trust the tall one's taste in women.

Prices are out of the roof this year for rentals. I'd look outside of AirBnB.

I plan to be in Moscow for the month of June. Can someone clear up this registration requirement? I plan to rent an apartment. My understanding is that usually whatever hotel tourists stay in issue the registration but what is the process if you are staying in an apartment?

Whatup bro. I live here, but I know nothing about the registration, other than I give my passport to my hot secretary when I come back into Russia, and she takes care of it. My thought would be to (a) google it, or (b) just not worry about it, as I think I've had the police ask me for it once, maybe twice in 3 years. One of those times they came and knocked on my door precisely because i was registered.
