It's doable if you spend some timing living there, definitely not as easy as it would be in the West. My buddy (Bangladeshi-American) banged a very Westernized and stylish Moroccan girl. I banged a Korean girl from Philly. The actual Moroccans are difficult to bed mostly because of the language barrier, but there are tons of American students running around in Casablanca and Rabat. As for Lisbon, I was a little harsh in my assessment of the city. I did go there in November, meaning that it was pretty cold, and I did have a good time partying in the Barrio Alto neighborhood. There are definitely some beautiful parks and views in the city as well. For a major European city, though, it just didn't stack up in my mind to places like Paris, Seville, or Amsterdam. The women are also remarkably unattractive, I think the hottest women I met in Lisbon were tourists. In Spain, by contrast, I was breaking my neck every ten seconds staring at all the senoritas, Spanish genetics are fantastic.

novi sad. i'll never forget this. before coming there, i was told that the women were first class. but nothing could've prepared me for such on onslaught of beauty! i was (and still am) mesmerized. the food is great, the people are friendly, and booze is not expensive.

worst:
berlin. i've never been to germany before. i was told that berlin is a high-functioning crazy town in comparison to other german cities, which are just high-functioning. for me, it was too normal. the local women...usually ugly. not as ugly as in dublin, but still. yes, it's true that they're approachable, but if you're sober, why would you even bother?
one more thing that irritated the hell out of me. if it's a non-weekend day, public transport stops around 4am. that's a disgrace for a city of such magnitude and reputation.

Good: Porto, people who are complaining about Lisbon should go check out Porto. The women are probably not better by much, but the city itself is beautiful.

Southern France, the girls here are gorgeous.

Good surprise: Sweden and Scotland. I was in Stockholm in November and I was surprised by the quality of the girls there, specially non Scandinavian girls. I mean, the Persian girls, asians, black were stunning! I saw beautiful girls there everywhere, supermarket, metro, train, shops (I think there's on h&M store per each swedish). And it's like they love wearing leggings. I was really surprised with the amazing bodies and ass they have. Even the white girls have great round asses. It's like everyone is either going to the gym or coming from the gym, or they just love waking in leggings. Only comparable to Norway where I felt the same about white girls and leggings.

I was in Scotland in August and was surprised with the locals, food and scenery. I never had a bad meal there. Went every night to the pubs and had dinner and I must say, it's not a daily food cuz they might be too fatty and heavy for night meal but they're delicious. There was this festival in Edinburgh (fringe), some of you might know from other cities. It's really cool, art and street performance shows from early morning till dawn around the city, every one on the streets enjoying summer, full of tourist, so even if you don't like Scottish girls I'm sure you can drill an American or Italian.

Bad surprise: northern Brazil. I was in Salvador and Recife and around the area some years ago. Got disappointed with the locals, I knew that in Brazil it's better more to the south but still. When checking the cities I found a lot of them girls really ugly. Tgink some of them have srong amazon genes. I think the majority of the girls that are pretty are higher class therefore harder to find in the street.

Best surprise: Ljubjana

Capital of Slovenia is an hidden gem, I was expecting nothing about this city but it is extremely beautiful, Austrian architecture. And the city beggining of june is alive, it's full of students still studying but also full of bands playing in every street cornes and it just feels there and the weather is very nice. There is some history to the city and it's close to beautiful landscapes. And the girls, I've never seen some many beautiful girls in such a small city, almsot every girls were stunners. Not that many 10 I think but just so many cute and beautiful girls and in great shape. There's a reaosn we call it Land of the Chaudes in French. However, in summer I think the city might be more empty than when I went.

Worst surprise:

I was expecting much better from Stockholm but the city is just too boring and expensive and the people are cold/robots. It's true that at night time girls are stunners in posh places but overall I felt I would die of boredom there (keep in mind I was coming from Paris which is probably the busiest city I've lived in my life and a long trip in eastern europe with hot girls, cheap and fun party). Stockholm is slightly more boring than Montreal (Montreal is great but it's not Paris) but the weather seems worse to me.

Positive Surprise: Middle USA. I went to Ohio during the school time and the girls there had me drooling. Hot home grown born American girls that looked like Swedish Models with Small town egos (so they didn't think they were all that).
Also beautiful landscapes and amazing lakes to ride A TV and hike. USA gets a lot of shit for their toxic girls but Middle America has some sexy top shelf feminine girls if you know where to look.

Negative Surprise: Mexico. So many fat people, I was in the north of the country and was expecting some hot girls. Having visited Colombia, I was highly disappointed. Now I have better information so I'll give it a second try but they need to chill with the enchiladas.

Great idea for a thread OP!

1. Biggest positive surprise - perhaps Tokyo, Japan! Super friendly people,women would come up to me seeing if I can't figure out something like a ticket machine or if I looked lost. Much cheaper food and accommodation than I expected. Clean and very well organized city. It was a pleasure being there for 2 weeks!

2. The negative one - the so called "pussy paradise" Colombia! - Bogota and Medellin in particular! Most women were ugly,fat and unfriendly even by American standards! Too many dudes and particularly foreign dudes everywhere where the girls might be! Taxi scams,drugs and other shady shit that made me question people on this forum and why they write things that are simply not true! I met some forum members in Colombia and most of them agreed with my assessment of the country. Oh..and online game ( tinder) produced zero leads for me in two weeks!

Speaking from my pre-RVF days (I'm listing cities here, as countries are way too general and cities within the same country can vary drastically from each other):

1. Best surprise -- Lexington, Kentucky believe it or not. Went to the KY derby with friends and I've never seen so many friendly and feminine southern belles in one place at the same time. If only I had more game and the balls to approach more...

2. Worst surprise -- Toronto. No surprise for you, but it was way back in 2001 and I didn't know any better. I thought Toronto would be great, but 1) I had my car towed, 2) witnessed an all out brawl with some guy trying to choke another guy on the 2nd floor railing above a dance floor, and 3) had my coat stolen, leaving me hanging in -15 degree weather. All on one trip. So I hated Toronto way before you guys started to.

Colombia is cool but the infrastructure is a nightmare. Its a devloping country with potential to rebuild now that the civil war is over.I don't know why people hype up Bogota for its girls. They're like cold and shady. 1/3 are cool, the other 2 are shady and/or weird.
Paisa girls are cool but you have to break them in. They have to know you're the most alpha guy they can get and then the floodgates open and it's beautiful.
It's a social proffered place and people are not the friendliest.

If you want friendly people who are the most laid back and sincere, head to Cali. Cool people.
I don't recommend Colombian girls for long term relationships, but they're awesome short term.

The first mistake was using Tindr in Colombia. The first and last time I used Tinder was for about 14 days in Colombia, and I got zilch from it. Maybe I'm not photogenic, I dunno. But it was a huge waste of time when I could be out walking around town and getting numbers and dates. The hits I got on Tinder were just girls who wanted self validation.

There are indeed some parts of Colombia where the talent is not impressive. But I've seen many gorgeous Colombian girls; more than you can shake a stick at. And it's easy for an average looking Gringo to get laid by a good looking, fit Colombiana 15 years younger.

If someone doesn't see some hot tail in Colombia, I always wonder where he was hanging out.

Panama, full of hot 20-25 years old Venezolanas running away from their country. Very nice places to eat, fairly safe, high end beaches.

Ljubljana was also amazing. Great wine and food also!

Krakow in Poland was also fantastic.

2. Worst surprise

San Jose, Costa Rica. What a fucking shit hole, expensive, TICAS can be nice but super conservative cultura, good luck trying to bang them in 3 dates. Logistics are tricky, traffic is nasty. Don´t waste your time and go straight to Guanacaste.

Using Tinder is never a mistake - it has always been a pretty good predictor of what to expect in a particular country! It doesn't take that long to swipe.
I remember meeting 3-4 forum members ( I don't recall their forum names) - but during our conversation they all admitted fucking only prostitutes their first 2-3 months in Colombia! Yes there are hot girls of course - but it doesn't mean an average dude like myself can get them! I'm saying - this damn shithole of a county should not be hyped up!
I'll leave a picture I took of Parque LLeras - where all night life is happening...it was the biggest sausage fest in Latin America! All these dudes flew in for a few paisas!

I thought the same thing. If you have been to Panama, there are so many cities, and they are all completely different such as David or Panama City. To just say Panama is leaving out a lot.

Maybe he is thinking Panama City. Although that can be a worse logistical nightmare, especially rush hour, than San Jose and very expensive too.

Plus if you don't like San Jose why go to Guanacaste?

Like Wayout, Japan was my best surprise. I got stalked twice and the people are super nice and helpful. I keep looking for excuses to go back, but I will be honest. I'll probably spend most of my time looking for good ramen, udon, and other assorted Japanese things that I like, instead of interacting with people.

I don't have a worst surprise yet. Usually anywhere I go, I have an idea of what I am getting myself into. Also, I don't visit hellholes either.

Best Surprises: Riga - expected cabbage-eating post-communist babushkas sporting "eeeevningvearrr" (this was 2004, but my first time in a former Soviet/Warsaw Pact country), instead got the "neck cramps and walking into lampposts" experience mentioned upthread; Croatia (and Bosnia) - ditto, but I'd been east enough to at least expect it by then. Slovakia's mountains and central valley (I guess I was expecting Iowa).

2. Worst Surprises: Norway's cities, Iceland's women, Spain's food (astonishingly - no idea how I managed such bad meals).

It's all relative, though. My travel experiences have all been interesting and valuable in some way - none I'd even consider writing off as a mistake or a waste of time, even when there have been disappointments or screwups I've gotten something out of each.
