RE: Moma and RudeBwoy RoundTable Discussion on Black Man Game Options
@Moma

The black regular guy take on the movie is "This is what happens when you start fucking white girls", lol.

The more subtle stuff about how "liberal" whites think they're being nice and respectful is what the black critics are homing in on. It's funny how little the white critics of the film can actually see the things that are blatant. Reading some of the white reviews, they miss a lot of the existential fear in the various interactions.

The black women are writing think pieces on how he couldn't kill the main villain at the end.

Meanwhile the author just married a Becky. Is she right there with him in his take? Or are there some unresolved issues?

And a bunch of the old school black folks are still skeptical of key and peele, just like they were about Obama until he won Iowa. Were it not for Michelle, his support wouldn't be as strong. With Key and Peele, they're both neck deep in whiteness, that "we" didn't find their show that funny. The "community" played Trevor Noah and Larry Wilmore the same way.

Yet out of all those dudes who aren't deep into the core of black American identity, you get very good insight into the real meaning of American blackness. Because politically blackness in America is often defined by interaction with the majority. The culture of black America is not only about how to deal with the majority.

Kinda going off on a different topic a bit, but cats from the hood don't experience racism like someone that lives in white suburbs and navigates through middle class white working environments. But "Yung Shorty" who deals with cops but not just regular Bob and Dave white guy - Yung dictates who is authentically black.

Not just to us, for us, but for everyone. It wasn't always like that. Some of the issues black cats deal with in the game is related to this constructed "authenticity" that's not based on reality. Rewind to the Marvin Gaye era, and there was a lot of flexibility.

What WIA just wrote is a thread discussion onto itself

Part of what's not discussed as much is the internal struggle for who gets to decide what & who is black enough or not

Now you got me reflecting on when this current phenomenon started to really take hold. It was definitely media-driven/backed/co-signed though.

Not too long ago a Thurgood Marshall, and a Sammy Davis Jr. could both define blackness and co-exist in the same space of authenticity within the community.

These days not so much

RE: Moma and RudeBwoy RoundTable Discussion on Black Man Game Options
Archie, you make some great points. It's akin to some of the experiences that Afro Europeans and Canadians encounter on their home turf. Many guys here don't perceive the finer subtleties encountered and assume that it's all kumbaya across the pond or across the border. Dismay emerges when they see things breakout on those sides (see Mark Duggan and French riots in 2005).
I heard Samuel L Jackson make some comments that he didn't feel that the UK guy shouldn't have had that role because he is British and wouldn't understand the strife that a homegrown would know through encounters.
If that is the case then Forrest Whittaker shouldn't have been allowed to play Idi in the Last King of Scotland since he is not a homegrown UGA guy!

On another note, I rather enjoyed that film 'Get Out' and will probably take another lizard to see it.

I am sure the German guys are doing better as with every party here even they have the best girls at the Hip Hop parties I go to haha.

I am not sure about the "black clubs" as I never go to those.

I love to read the reports from you fellas as well! See if we can talk about and diagnose what went wrong where and try to improve.

I only went out one night last weekend and it was a hard night because the club was overfilled and a girlfriend of mine was completely wasted and almost kissing me (Didn't want to try and close her because I was worried about alcohol levels and logistics). Screwed up my whole night. I also wasn't as aggressive as I should have been. Just not a great night overall.. but theres always next weekend.

I got two consistent plates now though and dont need a 3rd. I will keep going because I want to get rid of one and get another and still really in the market for an LTR rather than a plate.

On a side note. I really try NOT to be that judgemental cat that looks down upon folks. I remind myself nearly daily that if I ran into my old self at 20 years old, I'd probably cross the street. However, at the same time, I know that I was blessed with the ability to grow as a person.

Whatcha'll think about dating chicks with visible tattoo? Personally, smash yes, LTR No.
Something about seeing a bish in a weeding dress with dark illegible tattoos strewn across her titties or on her arms like a running back that makes me cringe, lol.

Do you the African born or the kids of African immigrants in America feel like they are "Black" just like the Native African American? This applies to a lesser extent to the Caribbean Blacks.

As an African, I never truly felt like a "real" Black person in America. My culture, family, hobbies, interests were not really aligned to the African American culture so I had a difficult time relating to African Americans despite having the same skin color.

one word "Diaspora". Thats what it comes down to. Black and African American are really two completely different things her in america. "Black" refers to the severance of ones identity to their history--the descendants of slaves--as well as a common recognition of "the struggle."

3/4 compromise
jim crow
civil rights
Emacipation proclamation
Affirmative Action

Its a large part of what blacks identify as her in the US, that is our history, the uphill battle. I don't identify as any type of "african" at all and I personally prefer being called black (or american) vs African American.

In the end its all just one mind fuck to keep us all from unifying. My friend is dating this brazillian chick and she was talking about how segregated America is. In her home country everyone identifies as brazillian despite there being black brazilians and white brazilians. No one here identifies as "American"

true, but I know enough to know that racism is heavy in their culture as well that was my counter argument. I think the point she was trying to make was as far as the national identity of the people goes--on that part I definitely took her at her word...she is a white brazilian so the black american in me was skeptical of her POV lol

fantastic ass tho with some fake titties to level her out

We all have a common identity when we travel outside of our country. Afro Americans will say they are American, Afro Brits will say they are Brits and Afro Canadians will say they are Canadian. When I used to travel, I had more commonalities with White Brits than a Black American. I could relate more to the views of a white Brit than a Black American, Canadian etc. Culture bathes us in commonalities far more than we realise until put to the test. Another example, a Black Jamaican can relate more to a white Jamaican if they both meet up in the UK than he could with a black Briton with Jamaican parents.

100% Pure nightclub/cold approach game Archie... Thats all I run. Its my bread and butter.

I am dabbling in Tinder (one of my 2017 game goals) and am slowing gaining ground but no dates or closes just yet. Had a date setup but she flaked.

I feel you. Some of those do look sexy.
However, I have never seen a tattoo that remains legible on darker skin (chics I'm attracted to), yet these broads stay getting them like it's a hairstyle. To me, it's a masculine trait.

I am dabbling in Tinder (one of my 2017 game goals) and am slowing gaining ground but no dates or closes just yet. Had a date setup but she flaked.

I think you may have hit the limit on cold approach, a topic rarely discussed.

You can look only so good. Your physique and style can only go so far.

Assuming you can get some semi-privacy, and then run your verbal game unrestricted - I'm betting a lot of the higher end chicks don't let you really put them in a situation where they can act naturally.

Is that what you're running into when you try to break out of the 6-7 purgatory?

I was wondering this myself. With day/night cold approach game, you still run the risk of running into non-compatible bishes which requires an investment of your time to discover if she's smashable or not. However, if you're at the point in your life where you're just smashing to be smashing, I guess it really wouldn't matter if you really like or enjoy a broads company.

Contrarily, to me, this is where circle game comes into play. If she's at a lecture on modern contemporary urban art, then chances are you share some similar interests, versus if this chic is at a night club tossing back drinks.
Without alcohol, is has become nearly impossible for me to enjoy pursing and smashing bishes who's company I don't necessarily care for.

Depends on the context.

During the Olympics, yes.
4th of July, no.

If the World Cup comes around, Black Americans will root for an African country over anyone but the American team.

Abroad - we claim American because
1) That's how we tend to be labeled (good and bad)
2) It gives advantages (usually because we're cool Americans)

Identity is a slippery creature. It's a bonus and a burden at different times.

Like a Black American that doesn't fit squarely into the stereotype - but at least speaks that language - can be Theo Huxtable with Black chicks that are middle class, Stringer Bell with smart hood chicks, Future with dumb hood chicks, and can throw on a different identity with everyone else.

Lot of non-black women like the idea of a monster on a leash. They love bad boys and the taboo - but at the same time - they don't want to lose total control of the situation. An Aryan Nation Biker is just as dangerous as some Crip from the South Side. She just wants the thrill. And when she's had her fill of that - she wants to return to safety.

So for us black dudes, it basically makes sense to know everything there is to know about our pop culture, and how others perceive it.

Like in Get Out, ol boy could have smashed every white chick there by playing to their different expectations, and giving them a taste. (not that there was anything worth smashing past his GF).

Some white chicks want that Malcolm X/Hotep type dude.
Some want that jock/athlete.
Some want that unhinged thug
Some want that dreamy poet/musician.
Some want that corporate guy who handles his shit authoritatively.

All of these are just shades of different types of alpha/archetypes.

Mystery was on this early on. He called them tribes.

In the white context
- corporate guy
- guido/muscle guy
- cool dj/musician guy
- emotional artist guy

ETC. You dress as one of those "sexy stereotypes" © Brad P - and a chick imagines what being with you is like. And when you step to her - and basically give her that fantasy - you back it up with behavior - she's already sold herself.

The thing is that most guys (white and black) are really too regular/too boring, or they fit into some uncool stereotype.

You can lower the bar of difficulty by understanding what these chicks look for.

If dress up/pretend/change your life is not for you - then the key is to understand what the archetypes represent. So you don't give her the visual, you just give her the behavior.

She is getting some kind of value from being with the thug.
She's getting some kind of value from being with the poet.

A lot of game is basically using that behavior to attract her, put her into your validation loop.

It's like the Hollywood Scam. Guy walks into store, acts very intimidating and authoritative, and people just respond to him in a submissive manner. It helps when he looks the part. It helps when he backs up his bad ass with action.

I wish I could find that Get Shorty scene. It shows what i'm talking about better than I can explain it currently.

My take on KD's issue is that he can only get so far with the upper echelon chicks because he's hitting them with straight ahead game in the short term.

I think more than finding commonalities - he basically needs to increase his social status in the scene. But I've already laid that out. And he's dabbling in promoter game.
