Is Satan that guy that refused to bow down to mortal, weak, whining, shitting and pissing creatures that his father created and did his own thing? Sound like my type of guy.

I have a feeling when talking to "educated" people that they live in a fantasy world. Job, insurance, title, reputation. All of them think that they are above the situation when someone is standing behind them with a hammer in his hand about to crush their skull. That their position in a fantasy man-made system is going to save them when facing the reality.

Educated people are the most blue-pill (illogical nonsense) group that exists.

So, we should all aspire to be knuckle draggers with no education? That's a lofty goal you have. I'm certain you'll achieve such low expectations for your life.

I'd rather have a surgeon with 12 years of university.

Any time someone survives something horrible, there's some human need to call it a miracle. The Lord personally came down and saved the guy because the dude was a Christian. But if he dies, then it's best explained by, "The Lord works in mysterious ways! Jesus wanted him in heaven!"

I'll take the doctor.
God works miracles to advance his Kingdom. Not to subject himself to the whims of men. Or prove himself when creation is ample proof for all those who are looking for him.

Christians live because God still needs them to do the work on this earth.

They die because they are no longer needed.

Miracles are not to eliminate disease or various maladies that man is subject to. But to certify prophecy and his word.

Humans must rely on the gifts god gave them to create and utilize technology to cure such problems.

God did not create a universe akin to any of the imagined fantasy worlds in our fiction and video games.

In this universe magical powers either come from God(in limited quantities and only under his direction) or from demonic entities.

A hell of a lot of people have been slaughtered in the name of religion. Perhaps we need fewer Gods and the moralities that those religions impose upon their believers.
Communism has killed more people than all religions combined, and failed to provide any of the benefits of religion. Where communist regimes go, they leave a vacuum of cultural and moral desolation

Quote:Speaking of which, humankind believes in around 3000 gods. Would you characterize yourself as monotheistic? You believe in just one god? If so, that means you don't believe in 2999 other gods. Which means that I believe in just one less god than you do. Wink
Mankind believes in far more gods than that. Hinduism has like 36,000. Shinto thinks that all kinds of things are imbued with spirits and gods. Chinese terms that can be translated as "god" run a continuum between something like the singular "heavenly emperor" and ambiguous "spirit" (it can be applied to both humans and supernatural beings -- and the communist theory when translated into Chinese maintains that it is all superstition). Before Christianity and other centralized religions, pagan faiths existed pretty much everywhere. The gods have not essentially changed, only human understanding of them has. Christianity discarded the old gods (including the old Testament god). They did not change the concept of gods very much, but rather altered the human relationship to them.

Whether from a theological perspective or a psychological one, it is an unprecedented development in history that a large number of people believe in no gods at all, or that the ruling classes of a nation could attempt to run society on atheist principles. It's also an unprecedented development in history that people could be so alienated from their cultures and communities-- with technology and rigid institutions (backed up by technology) serving as cheap substitutes. ROK has many articles on how modern society is advancing the end of tradition and reducing humanity to an atomized collection of economic chips. They are worth reading.

Societies that killed gods and erected instead human or technological idols, from the Nazis and the Japanese and the colonial powers to the Soviets and the Maoists, caused untold destruction of human life, the ecosystem, and most dangerously the laws of human relations. The long-lasting traditional religions had a strong role in guiding people through social and familial existence for thousands of years. A society of strong faith in the divine is a human-centric society--while the society we are building now is one in which humans are soon-to-be-obsolescent pieces of meat in a world of mechanized institutions--ironically presented to and forced upon us as the pinnacle of human achievement! As Solzhenitsyn said, "all this has happened because we forgot God."

Satin is the combination of everything bad you can imagine or think of.

Satin is the definition of pain. You can't argue the reality of pain. Pain is the most real thing there is.

I read one time that John Rambo was a green beret.

Not just A green beret, THE green beret!!!

[Rambo is] an expert in guerrilla warfare, a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well Rambo was the best.

Now let's get back on the topic of Satan. I believe he exists, and is stronger than ever. When people are not killing each other, they kill themselves (abortion, suicide, drug abuse).

Meanwhile, family values and communities are being replaced by virtual friends and Tinder dates.

A man without faith, family and friends is an easy target for Satan (or whatever you wanna call evil).

Best portrayal of Satan is in the Devil's Advocate. Protagonist sidelines everything true & good in his life for everything he "thinks" he wants, which Satan has in abundance.

To me, one of the best movies. Al Pacino's portrayal of prince of darkness is awesome, as his other works. Btw, there is interesting movie with similar theme called "Ninth Gate", starring Johnny Depp. You guys should check it out, its about book acquirer dealing in rare occult books that stumbles upon evil agenda involving book allegedly written by Satan himself.

I love Al Pacino in that film in the Devil's Advocate, the only other actor I could see as the Devil is Hugo Weaving.

I can't comprehend an afterlife where choices are obsolete because you'd either be in heaven or hell.

Can you sin in heaven? Can you have sex in heaven? If not, what's the point?

It's so vague and ambiguous I don't understand how a creator could demand compliance when you are barely vaguely aware of what the consequences are, as your own consciousness is entirely dependent on this world.

There is no more sin or possibility of sin it seems. When a man is purified of his sin nature, temptation and inclination to do so will no longer exist.

As of sex. It is replaced by something far grander and greater called God himself.

Experiencing God himself through seeing him as he truly is(1 John 3:2) being immersed in his Glory whilst in Glorified bodies that are perfect.

The pleasure of sex is merely a shadow of what is to come for those who believe.

It will not involve anything to do with mechanical movement but the sheer joy of experiencing God.

If one were to experience God whilst in normal body. He will simply die because of the sheer ecstasy of seeing his infinite beauty and utter majesty.

Sex and its sheer pleasures serve the purpose of binding man to wife and producing offspring. In heaven where reproduction ceases completely it is dispensed with just like we dispensed with the umbilical cord that connects us with our mother.

Just look up each of my statements to see if there is basis in the bible.

Because the authors of books Bible contains did not think much of it and because they probably were limited in "intellectual means".
Think about it, Bible was composed over time, by different oral stories passed generation on generation, but in the end, those who were literate (probably just a fraction of Jewish population) wrote these stories, which were later combined.
That is why Bible has many errors and contradictions in it (together with purposely doing that by certain authorities).

When we get to the New Testament, now stories become more and more congruent, different times, more people that wrote and such, but focus on the afterlife waned.
People wanted more to know "how to get" in Heaven, than to know "what is it like".

If you truly want to know what afterlife is about I suggesting reading Buddhistic Sutras.
When you read it, you are actually not sure if they are books of quantum physics, psychology or philosophy.
I recommend Surangama Sutra, which is based on Q&A with Siddhartha Gautama Shakyamuni Buddha that explains most things.

That film is horse shit and (like most hollywood false narratives) pushes a 100% satanic agenda.
It spends 2 hours glorifying satan, and its end message is that the only way to win against the devil's plans is to commit suicide.
It's depressing and nihlistic to the extreme, and offers nothing to those who want to learn how to fight (or defend themselves) against evil.

I disagree. I interpret it as a way that one individual who could get in position of power will be faced with various choices that have consequences. These choices are in movie portrayed as morally evil (they erode Keanu Reeves marriage), but will give him more money and power.
To me that is simply reality that is in power in these "higher circles" which we talk about at length on this forum.

And btw, why would Hollywood give us means to fight or defend against evil as they are part of it?

Where do you guys stand on this?

I've been amazed how much secret societies evolution and science are strongly associated with Satan(Im not a religious person). Take a look at CERN in Switzerland, its logo has 3 6s in it, and they have a statue of Shiva(god of destruction) outside of it lit up like a christmas tree. Everyone on the internet seems to claim whenever you get to the top levels of the Illuminati or Freemasons(read Albert Pike) or whatever secret society it is finally about Satanism and human sacrifice. One need only look at Pizzagate and wikileaks or a superbowl halftime show or Crowley or Abramovich to see all of these things on full display. The secret societies are big on their symbols and hand signs too. One thing you can't unsee 3 6's on google chromes symbol and we all know how they were sensoring news items to push Hillary.

You can even find a bunch these days that believe that men are actually women, and women are actually men.
