I've noticed this for a little bit and thought it was an issue with my phone until someone else mentioned it in passing in another thread.

Whenever I want to quote a post on mobile, I have to change to the desktop version and then press quote. Otherwise, it's as if you just pressed the post reply button

Always been like that as far as I've been here. Switching to desktop mode on mobile is a pain but i do it occasionally.

Never has, and it's been mentioned many times. The fix is actually modifying a single line of code in the templates. But it'll never be done so just let it go.

I would like to see Roosh give access to Phoenix to implement some fixes and new features into the board. He is the resident guru on this as it is and if anyone is going to do anything to spruce up the forum it would be him.

I saw this too , but even when I try "switch to desktop version ", my screen simply refreshes to the same thing and I'm unable to "like " or "quote ". Not sure what I'm missing. I use an iPhone 6s, if that helps.
Interestingly, even when I log in from my laptop, a Lenovo Thinkpad, it seems to do the same thing, all the extra buttons you guys describe are not visible to me, and I can see, at the bottom of the screen where I should be able to click, "desktop version ". It acts like it might be changing something, but again, just refreshes to the same thing.

2 possible solutions:

1. Try a different browser. I have to RVF on a different browser than I normally use.

2. Instead of just tapping the "switch to full version" tab, press, hold, and select "Open in New tab"

Is this a hack to the codebase, or just a configuration change? I was going to say, if it's the former, theoretically a cleaner way to do it is to submit a patch. In practice, the last time I did that, I don't think it got merged. (I submitted some code to add a field for the author's name to the RSS, and never heard back from them.)

I always switch to desktop version. Works just fine even with opera mini, although Chrome is super fast as always.
