- Downtown - Been a long time -
- Westend - ..
- Uptown - Nice like Houston Midtown
- Uni around

In case any Roosher (is that the term for a forum member?) has to decide again, never been to H-town but I'll take Houston for 500.

Dallas: Snobby, segregated, but cheap and there are plenty of malls/universities to day game.

Houston: Very diverse (race and money wise), more down to earth feeling, diverse industries, and close to austin/A&M. Horrible weather though.

Dallas nightlife is concentrated in Uptown/Downtown or Addison. Uptown/Addison people spend their whole time there and happen to be snobs. "I don't drink beer because it's cheap. I want vodka." - a former FB of mine who earns 16/hr and lived with her parents. It's called the LA of the south for a reason.

Houston has plenty of vietnamese and nigerians if you ever get bored with hispanics or caucasians. Not to mention, there are many consulates....which means you can game near them to get European or any other kind of girl.

I think professionals in either Dallas or Houston are fairly happy in both cities. If people relocate, etc...than it's mainly due to other job opportunities in another city or say graduate school, haha.

When were you last in Dallas Cattle Rustler? I would write a Dallas data sheet as I live in the area, but I'm kind of an uptight detail oriented guy as bars I may suggest tend to change & not be cool anymore in say 3 mos, lol.

Worth can be nice & open, but pride themselves in being "funky towners" as they tend to be much more insular if trying to seal the deal. I'd say FW has much better quality of living, but there's too many females that go out for "girls nights" while leaving their bfs at home. Just not enough young professionals in FW either as you'll have people of many more different backgrounds in Dallas area. Definitely more "shields" in Dallas, but once you break it...it's easier to make friends and get some.

Yeah, Texas is a pretty good place overall. The cost of living is just too good to pass up, that's why we have so many 20K millionaires and posers.

I live in the northern Dallas suburbs, like .5 mile from Addison. The bars/restaurant scene changes a lot since we have like the highest concentration in the US. Most fail after 6 months.

What about Denton? Thursday game seems good there with all the college kids around. Probably not a weekend place since many just go back to Dallas. The girl quality is good, although it has many femin/anarch/social-ists.

The SMU area is pretty good too, plenty of wealthy college girls who like to get drunk and have a good time. I've made a few strikes there. Exchange numbers and they will kindly let you know they are lonely or drunk and want you to come over.

Funky Town is a mixed in the back place, as you said...some go out for girls night and it's cheaper. But most of the stuff happens in Dallas and driving back and forth gets old.

Haha. Very true. Though I've heard some ppl in certain neighborhoods of Houston that complain about "being decked out" just to visit the grocery store. We def have those neighborhoods in Dallas too.

That's legit. I get what you mean about the failures. I think the "in places" there now are McFadden's & Social House eh? I actually like the Londoner for game/atmosphere in Addison moreso than the one in Uptown.

I was supposed to move to Brazil this past May for some training & personal endeavors so moved my shit back into the "rents" house, which is around Richland Hills area from Las Colinas/Irving where I had same roommate for 5 years. Some fun times, but he was 10 years older than me & got married in Jan. Off to BR again as I have peeps waiting for me again this Fall.

There can be some good SMU chicks. I've never had any luck with them however, haha. I find TCU gals to be more outgoing overall..same as their alumni as they'll be more open-minded. The good thing about Dallas though is that the SMU scene make up hypothetically 5-10% of the social scene whereas it feels like TCU comprises 50-60% of the bar areas in Ft. Worth while the professionals are all engaged, married, not interested, whatever.

But mad props if you've had good luck with SMU gals.

Sure there are some government or healthcare based employment choices, but a lot of work is really in Euless, Southlake, Irving/Las Colinas, Lewisville, Arlington, Plano, Richardson, Dallas, Addison, Carrollton, etc. What's the pt. of "urban living" if you need to commute 40-45 minutes to work?
They tend to brag about how American Airlines is "headquartered in Ft. Worth," but it's really in the Euless/Mid-Cities area near DFW Airport so a person living in West Ft. Worth would travel 25-30 minutes there without traffic, but with traffic easily 50-60 minutes.

Quality of living out in FW however is technically much higher though as there's a reason why the city is growing so much population wise.

That's where most people will spend their time when waiting for a visa or some consular stuff, because Houston and urban sprawl limits where you can go and wait. This is considering what most people do in the Mexican Consulate in Dallas, they just go to a restaurant nearby. Say you're getting a visa to visit their country or do business in. It's like gaming abroad but you're in the US. For me, I say I'm there to get a passport to retrace my roots since my parents americanized me. They get all :O that someone is interesting in not bashing their country and get numbers. Some have to go back to work or pick up their kids after school, some are down to meet that same night or fuck the next day.

Just look at where the consulates and starbucks are in the pictures below. Grady Park looks like a good spot too.

Hahaha, hopefully you didn't make too many drives alone back to Las Colinas. I like to piss off the feminazis, it's hard to avoid them in my case. Some people want to see the world burn. Go to UNT around the 20th, that's when freshman start to move in. Classes start on the 28th. Sneaky Pete's gets real good on the weekends and it's cheap. I've been to Lake Lewisville but only to the public park area. :\

There are cases of 5 people sharing a 1-2 bedroom apartment in Uptown because they can't afford the rent. When the recession started there was an Indian girl who walked up to me and asked me for money because she didn't have any...this was in Addison Circle. In West Plano a hot milf was stranded on the road because she couldn't afford gas for her CLK Mercedes. Some of this is just ridiculous, but it's just Dallas.

I currently live in Houston and lived in Dallas from 1998-2005 during my prime single years. There is more hot pussy in the uptown area of Dallas then the ENTIRE city of Houston.

Houston is more spread out......the people are nicer......much more diverse....If I was black, latin, or from a foreign country I would prefer Houston......If I was a white guy looking for HOT skinny white girls Dallas would be the place.

Dallas people have much more of an attitude and is truly land of the 30k millionaire. I would be very careful where you live in either city.
Dallas I would look into Addison/Uptown......Houston is a tough one.

Both cities are cheap with lots of employment potential.

Oh man, my bad, I totally misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you meant Dallas is several degrees cooler meaning it is several levels more hip, not the weather.

Actually the thing with Dallas is that it has a larger range of temperatures because it is inland, whereas Houston is very close to the Gulf so it doesn't get as extreme. Dallas in the winter gets colder and for more days. For example, Houston only hits freezing maybe a few days at most in a regular year (this year it only got to freezing one day). Dallas apparently gets to freezing and stays that way upwards of 14 days. That is probably why the average temperature is cooler.

In my experience Dallas weather is similar to Houston, with one big advantage, Dallas is less humid than Houston (which is a horrible problem with Houston IMO).

I really don't know about Dallas being a better city for work, but if that's what the statistics say then I guess it's true. Don't be fooled, Houston is not just an energy city, it has a very diverse economy.

Being a Houston native that has been all around Texas, if I were looking for a place to live in Texas for a few years I'd go with Austin or Houston, and only after those consider Dallas.

D-town is a truly boring city.

Oh man, my bad, I totally misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you meant Dallas is several degrees cooler meaning it is several levels more hip, not the weather.

Actually the thing with Dallas is that it has a larger range of temperatures because it is inland, whereas Houston is very close to the Gulf so it doesn't get as extreme. Dallas in the winter gets colder and for more days. For example, Houston only hits freezing maybe a few days at most in a regular year (this year it only got to freezing one day). Dallas apparently gets to freezing and stays that way upwards of 14 days. That is probably why the average temperature is cooler.

In my experience Dallas weather is similar to Houston, with one big advantage, Dallas is less humid than Houston (which is a horrible problem with Houston IMO).

I really don't know about Dallas being a better city for work, but if that's what the statistics say then I guess it's true. Don't be fooled, Houston is not just an energy city, it has a very diverse economy.

Being a Houston native that has been all around Texas, if I were looking for a place to live in Texas for a few years I'd go with Austin or Houston, and only after those consider Dallas.

D-town is a truly boring city.

Last time I was there was a Saturday and we went to a beautiful major mall and I count literally count on my hands the number of people there.

Fort Worth, aside from The Stockyards, feels like you are in some kind of zombie movie and are the last survivor. I just didn't like the feel of Dallas as a city, and the people tend to be more redneckish and uptight at the same time, even the glamorous girls.

Houston on the other hands is diverse as fuck. You can find all sorts of nationalities/races as there are more people in the city. The best thing I've found with Houston is the big asses. If you're a fan of the booty then I think Houston beats most of the nation with maybe the exception of Miami.

I moved to DFW from the east coast a couple of years ago for work. Professionally it was a great move. Socially, like a few other dudes said the people can be pretentious (even more than NYC/LA I find) and the general atmosphere bland.

I actually really like Denton though. It reminds me of a miniature Austin before it became over priced. Very cute and down to earth college girls and some cool bars downtown.

Man, I really think you are barking up the wrong tree with your focus on the South. In terms of having a good romantic/sex life the South in general (with some very big exceptions) can be as soul crushing as LA, but for different reasons.

Women in this part of the country are more sexually conservative than places you have been like Chicago and NYC. I'm not saying it is as bad as Pakistan, but most women are trying to get a ring on their finger.

Also you mentioned elsewhere that you seem to prefer day game and don't drink alcohol. The South is shit for day game compared to where you've been. For the most part you will probably have to go to a mall if you want a decent number of girls in one spot, and I personally hate malls.

The only good thing about women in this part of the country is they are more polite than in other areas, so if you approach reasonably you will not get blown out as much, although rejections are still high %.

If all you care about is finding an affordable city, then sure the South is fine, but if you care about your sex life I don't recommend it.
