There's probably no real point to posting this. It's the same old thing over again. People attempt to maintain their integrity by not supporting lifestyle decisions that clash with their personal belief systems, and are vilified for it. My despondency is real.

It's a TV show called Bride and Prejudice. I've never heard of it until this article. Parents decide they do not approve of gay son's impending marriage to another man.

The usual reactions from twitter occur.

The US and Canada must be making tons of money from gay Australians going there to get married.

In case you missed it, Chris is the child of a devout Jehovah’s Witness mother, Yvonne, and a very traditionally minded father, Geoff. Chris is gay and has recently proposed to his partner Grant. They’re getting married soon in Florida.

For the second episode of Bride and Prejudice, Chris has flown to Queensland to ask his parents to come to their wedding.

We hoped with all our hearts that Yvonne and Geoff would find it in their hearts to welcome Chris back into their lives, but instead Chris faced yet another rejection.
Here’s how it went down.

“So, I understand you want to have a chat to us,” Yvonne says, the apprehension in her demeanour completely clear to everyone.

“Yeah. Basically …. Not basically. Well you know how I’ve been going back and forth from the States for three years now,” Chris asks.

“I actually met someone. And … his name is Grant. The reason why I want you to meet Grant is because he’s really important to me. And what we’re doing is we’re getting married in a month’s time in Palm Springs in the States.”

At this point, Chris’ Dad, Geoff actually laughs. It’s awkward and perhaps, given the benefit of the doubt, you could say it’s nervous tension. If you didn’t feel like being as generous, you might say the laughter was mean-spirited smirk. Who knows what the truth of it is.

Chris ploughs on. “I was coming to see whether you guys would come.”
There is a long, long pause as everyone around the table processes their feelings.
Yvonne breaks the silence. “Well, Chris, um … you know I’ve got very strong beliefs on that situation. So, um, for us, that’s not an option.”

Chris asks Geoff what his beliefs are. “Basically the same, different reasons,” Geoff replies.

Yvonne takes a moment to acknowledge Chris’ feelings, which in the situation is probably the least she could do. “So, I know you were hoping for another outcome but it’s not going to happen Chris.
“We’d like to have contact with you, but we really don’t want to be part of that.”
Chris confirms with Yvonne that she doesn’t want to have a relationship with him because of her beliefs.

He asks them if they will meet Grant.
“No, we don’t want to. Okay? The only contact we really want to have is with just you,” Yvonne replies.

“Well, just me is all of me. You can choose all of me or none of me. Not just part of me,” Chris says, maintaining a dignified, steely gaze on the lace tablecloth underneath his finger tips, as if he’s willing himself not to cry.

Yvonne responds with the words we hoped she would never say. “Well, if that’s the way it’s gotta be, that’s the way it’s gonna be.”

At the end of their incredibly short conversation, just 15 minutes, Yvonne says, “I’d like a hug before you go.”

Chris can’t bring himself to give her one, and well, frankly, who could blame him.

I'll be a father soon, and my wife also strongly disagrees about gay marriage. I honestly don't know how I would react if my son was gay. Part of me would say that he remains my son for life, but part of me would see a failure in the way I educated my kids. Tough choice.

But one thing I am 100% sure about: you will never see me at a gay marriage. Even my own son's. It's just against nature. What's next? Pedophile marriages, animal marraiges, etc.?

Note that in the clip the mother is the one doing the talking saying that "for us it's not an option," while the father sits there like a doofus schlub. Probably a reflection of how their house was run resulting in their son growing up to be a sodomite.

Many gay men were abused by men when they were a child. Protect your son, keep him safe and he will turn out normal.

The heritability of homosexuality is much lower than that of cognitive ability/IQ.

Yet, leftists would insist that they're gay because they're "born this way"--although they believe (to a degree of feverishness that would make a Scientologist or ISIS-member jealous) that IQ is the effect of stereotype bias, or teacher quality, or institutional racism/sexism, or whatever column on a table from a non-replicable-Sociology paper they happened to lay their fingers on that day.

I see they are Jehovah's Witnesses. I am Pentecostal and somewhat of a religious fanatic myself, although I am no saint I work on improving.

If my son showed up talking about marrying a man I would tell him to go in the basement, get on his knees and pray to be healed of homosexual desires. One day a week he fasts. He will live comfortably, but he's not coming out of that basement gay.

As someone who is against both the gay and lesbian lifestyle, I thinks lesbians are far more worst and deserved to be shamed more than gay men.

Gay men, while gross, actually work and don't cuase too much trouble in society. Also, Milo.

Lesbian women get into destructive things such as feminism, dyke out, very violent, become even more engulfed victim-hood mentality and essentially take away women from the dating pool.

But most importantly, lesbians/bi women become our competition as men, where as gay men take away any potential competition. nothing better than coming across a tall good looking guy who is gay, cause you know there is no threat.

It must be the saddest thing to write off your kid because of his or her lifestyle. Think of all the moments the parents had when they first found out they were having a kid, the baby walking around, learning to talk, the little league games, etc. This stuff breaks my heart.

On the other hand, look at the guy on the video. To suggest that he could pray his way out of being gay is ridiculous.

I could see him having been molested as a kid but when I think of the gay dudes I know, most of them have been gay or effeminate forever. No upbringing would be able to fix it, they'd just be repressed. Is it a RVF consensus that people are not born gay? I must have missed that.

There's a ton of people out there whose families just can't stand their lifestyle - be that they're heavy metal musicians, decided to quit a lucrative family business and live a humble lifestyle beachside, marry interracially. But the fact that he's exposing his family makes me lose all sympathy for him.

You really can't say one or the other is worse with gays and lesbians.

Lesbians are openly evil, nasty, bigoted against men, hideously ugly, and statistically the most violent domestically.

Gays are furiously annoying, the main purveyors of atheism (anyone who says "sky god" is a faggot until proven otherwise,) and HIV was initially spread by a fag who fucked some monkeys and then over 1000 men.

Overall my opinion is God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for a reason.

I work in hospitality and as such I meet a shitload of gay men and gay women.

Anecdotal of course, but most of the gay men are quite happy, if effeminate.

The lesbians are all miserable, especially the bull-dyke ones.

Re-read the article. Still have no idea why the parents agreed to go on TV with this.

If the mom really is a devout Jehovah's Witness, then she knows exactly the type of degenerate society we live in and how completely and vociferously oppositional it is to her belief system and, increasingly, her right to live out her conscience. Knowing this, the only reasons she would agree to appear on TV are, 1) a massive need for attention/publicity, 2) they offered her money, or 3) a desire to humiliate her son on TV. None of this speaks well of her or their family. Life's already hard for traditional folk---it gets that much harder if you are intent on attention-whoring about your beliefs on globalist programs that are almost by definition in existence to destroy you.

It's clear that the mom is driving force behind this (the dad barely says anything at all) which bring up another problem with women heading up families: their need for drama, indignation & attention is nigh unquenchable and can be highly unproductive if not channeled appropriately. As this family is now learning no doubt.
