in american baseball, there were two different leagues, the national and the american leagues. Each has a champion. Each had a team from Canada. When the two champions play each other, its called the World Series, even though its just the championship of U.S. Major League Baseball. World Series is just marketing hyperbole and is obvious exaggeration to Americans.

The saying that the super bowl winner is the world champ borrows from this. Unlike baseball, there aren't even any Canadian football teams in the NFL.

in baseball, there is a decent amount of players that switch between the Japanese and American pro leagues. Canada has a pro football league, but the rules are moderately different and its not really on the same level. Japanese baseball is much closer in talent to American baseball. at the amateur level, Olympics, other countries are ahead of the U.S.

They're Champion of United States.

It applies to both in baseball and American football. You're only World Champion when you compete against other nations.

Like in football, there's World Cup in every 4 years. Qualification starts with national teams from 208 countries and then you have a World Champion.

How many nations compete in MLB or NFL, so you come up with the conclusion with "World Champion" in the end?

I said earlier I couldn’t hate this city more. I was wrong again – we’ve reached a new record!

Heading to class today, as per usual, and arrive at the train station. I go a little after rush hour on most days so the trains are usually not all that crowded – there’s plenty of space.

But not today. Today the trains are packed. Why?

Patriots fans.

Can’t look left or right without seeing a patriots hat, a Brady jersey, or a New England scarf.
Can’t get any elbow room in the train there are so damn many of them.

Everybody is in patriots gear. Matty Masshole is in Pats gear. His mom is in pats gear. His dad is in pats gear. His sister is in pats gear. His newborn baby is in a stroller…and pats gear.

I had no fucking idea what was going on. I take a look at my phone and learn via google that the fucking parade is today. I knew I should have stayed my ass at home. How could I have fucked up like this? I should've seen this shit coming. Immediate regret sets in as I embark on an hour long mass transit endeavor with legions of Patriot-loving massholes.

As if the crowding wasn’t enough, the fuckers have to let you know they’re there too. And they do so loudly. As soon as they all get to the stop they’re looking for, the shouting intensifies.

“WOOO! PATS BABY!”
“YEAH GO PATRIOTS!!”
“CHAMPIONSHIP BABY”

They’re all so caught up in the loud fuckery they forget to exit the damn train in a timely manner…because fuck everyone else’s commute, the Patriots won! They move in a mass of boisterous humanity away from the train, finally, and for a brief moment there is peace.

You don’t have a great QB with a shitty offensive line. And the Pats are always excelling in that regard. They value guys that are solid and that work well within the “team” structure of the unit. Other teams are trying to get some behemoth 380 pound left tackle to guard the QB’s back. But the Pats know that it takes more than a Pro Bowl tackle to solidify an offensive line.

Was in the gym today and guess what I saw? The black lives matter NFL poster boy Collin Kaepernick saying he will now stand for the National Anthem reason why as of March 9th he will be an NFL free agent. Christian Mccaffrey went to the Panthers at #8 yesterday, becoming the first white running back to be drafted in the top 10 in what, 50 or 60 years? The last white guy to be drafted as a running back anywhere in the first round was in 1974.
