Shouldn't surprise anyone, the girl scouts already did this a while ago. As well as faggot scoutmasters being allowed a while ago too, absolutely unconscionable for any sensible parent or sane individual. Yep, just keep kowtowing to and elevating the LGBBQ alliance as some higher state of being for all straight people to aspire to. So much energy and concern placed on people who wouldn't ever return the favor or think of anyone other than themselves and their precious identity solely based on their fucked up sexuality and who barely exist at all.

Enjoy your probably dozen new recruits and that massive cash inflow, surely that will keep your business afloat. I'm sure most parents already pulled their kids a while ago considering the above and most organizations, especially religious, hopefully pulled their funding long ago too. I actually am surprised they even continue this "boy" and "girl" scouts since whatever you want to be is allowed now. Actually aren't binary gender definitions or whatever already oppressive according to SJWs? Shouldn't they do away with those horrible labels and just have "whatever you want to be scouts"? My child wrote "aircraft carrier" on it's form, I demand an aircraft carrier scouts or you're Hitler.

From what I have been reading, kids with gender identity issues (that are not due to child abuse) generally grow out of them. I can vaguely remember one boy in my grade school (late '70s to early '80s) who liked to dress as a girl during Halloween. He stopped doing that by junior high (but was still really effeminate). Nobody clamored to have him take hormone treatments for "change his gender". I think everyone pretty much ignored him.

This giving kids hormones, surgery, and generally feeding the delusion is nothing more than child abuse. What shocks me is how many women I see (who are also mothers) who are so gun-ho about promoting this nonsense.

I wonder if my Dad is paying attention to all this? The scouts for him were a really important organization. He grew up really poor (Depression era farm). His mom dropped dead from cancer when he was 12 and his dad was a physical and later mental wreck (badly injured in a mine explosion). The scouts were in a way a substitute patriarch for him, offering motivation, discipline, and training.

When I was a kid, Dad was big on me joining and signed me up for the Cub Scouts, with the idea I would become a Boy Scout. I think I lasted maybe 18 months before I got pulled out. The scouts (both Cub and Boy) had degenerated into a coffee klatsch for the women and a lame organization where the men gave awards to each other all day. The outdoor stuff had been neutered due to fear of lawsuits and the fact it was run by a bunch of suburban guys who I think were afraid of nature.

I wasn't too big on the Cub Scouts, so there was no protest from me when my Dad bailed on the organization. He never mentioned the Scout again. I think seeing what the organization had become (in suburban NJ) really affected him with disappointment.

The cub scouts were a big deal in my grade school. We had lots of Mormons.

Well right before I became a Weblo my dad wouldn't let me go back, and all my friends weren't allowed either. We all just kind of quit.

Maybe two years later it came out we had a chimo boy scout leader. I never got the full details, and it never came out who the kid was, but it wasn't me. The leader went to jail for sex assault. It was shocking it got kept so quiet considering where it happened. Word gets around an island quick.

The leader dudes name was even something pervert like Willie Pounder.

The Boy Scouts for decades tried to keep out pedos, whom are attracted to any organization that features a lot of young boys (another example, English all boys private schools). Letting in those who are openly homosexual will make that impossible.

I used to be pretty much a small 'l' libertarian when it came to gays. After seeing what they do when they get some power (forcing themselves on everyone i.e. gay wedding cakes) and their propensity to abuse kids (lesbians also fall under this category) I have become far less tolerant.

I have a son coming into the world July (assuming all goes well). I would have love to enroll him in outdoor and character building organizations. Sadly, the Scouts will not be one of those organizations.

The best thing you can do is take him camping yourself, and with other masculine men. Leave the wife and women home alone. Gives her some girl time, and gives you and your future son some male bonding time. You don't need an official organization like the Scouts to visit the wilderness or the gun range. Just take the Boy Scout guide or use the many outdoor resources available at REI, Gander Mountain, Cabelas, etc to chart your journey.

Are *any* of the Boy Scouts alternatives worth anything? Someone a few posts back mentioned Trail Life USA.

Looks like some are secular, some are religious. Many of them seem like they're tied to a particular religious faith, though, which is going to make it rough for any of them to grow in numbers. There's one called the Baden-Powell Service Association. Sounded good to me until I checked out their website:

"BPSA is proud to offer a traditional scouting program for youth and adults of all genders with open and progressive membership policies that disallow any and all discrimination. Our aim is to promote good citizenship, discipline, self-reliance, loyalty, and useful skills. Scouts is a prime example of social justice types destroying something valuable. It used to be a valuable foundation for life, even when I was a cub scout. Not long after I went though it seems to have rapidly gone downhill with all the SJW talking points.

That is going to be a sticking point for me. I was raised Protestant but disposed and vestige of religiousness by early adulthood. My son will probably end up visiting a Buddhist temple than a church (my wife is Buddhist).

I can take a nominally religious organization as long as it doesn't try to pound Christian doctrine into my kid's head.

So far the baby has passed every screening test. We have one more ultrasound test next week. Some people have kids easy, for my wife and I, it has been a chore. We weren't like the couple at the beginning of the movie 'Idiocracy' on purpose. There were issues why my wife couldn't get pregnant and we finally had to rely on (expensive) science to make it so. We plan to have three total, so my wife will be a baby making machine for the foreseeable future (again, assuming all goes well).

As humans, we spent most of our time on earth during the Pleistocene, where old age was 40 and you were most likely dead by age 35. Women are built to have kids ideally between ages 17 to 25. After 25, the 'genetic load' (i.e. chromosomes that go bad) goes up dramatically. Pregnancy becomes a dicey (genetic defects like Down's and Autism) and really friggin expensive (especially if you have to do IVF).

Age affects men as well... your sperm will also become fewer in number and of poorer quality (more genetic load). Though men can improve by avoiding booze, supplements, and weight lifting (often with dramatic improvements).

This is exactly the sort of switch I made as well. I had a sort of live and let live attitude about it. I also thought after the whole "gay marriage" thing, maybe that would be the end of it and we can all stop hearing about LBTQWERTY issues. Boy did I get that wrong.

The way I say it now, the gay movement was just a stepping stone to the transgender movement and now they're trying to push this stuff onto our children. A lot of people would scoff that pederasty is next on the table, but that's what people said back in the 90s about the stuff we're seeing now.

I've become much less tolerant because it's clear that, like women, the more you concede to these people the more demanding they will become.

As an aside, I saw a funny suggestion on another board that any future donations to the Boy Scouts of America should made be made using Monopoly money. If I have to pretend that a girl is really a boy, the BSA can pretend that my Monopoly money is real.

This is especially disheartening. The BSA held out for a while but with the allowing of Homosexuals in the past it was just a matter of time. I greatly enjoyed Scouts and even learned some decent life skills from a variety of merit badges, I even attained the Eagle Rank. Should be interesting to see if support from churches dwindles or if they too cave. I was actually recently asked about helping out at my local church with their group I was mulling it over (as I recently relocated and started a new job) when this came out. I just can't see how a scout can "keep [himself] physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight" and allow these things. Creeds and codes mean nothing now.
