According to a spokeswoman for the Project, they have received 12,000 hats.

"A greater number have been created and passed directly from maker to marcher, so we estimate that nationwide over 100,000 hats have probably been made, with many of those showing themselves at the sister marches across the country," said Liz Leong.
Mary Griffith of Rotterdam learned to knit so she could make herself a hat for the march in New York City. She brought her husband, also a new knitter, to Cece's. She had a pin attached to it that she used to diaper her daughter when she was a baby, 37 years ago. The last time she participated in a march was in 1986. It, too, was for women's rights.
"I hope the Trump administration hears what we're asking for," Griffith said. "They are going to be making decisions that affect our health."
Rachel Breidster of Albany said she decided to go to the march in Washington as soon as she heard about it.
"As a woman, as a queer woman, as an ally of people of color, I feel there are groups who are in greater danger. Trump's plans will affect everyone, but there are certain groups that face disproportionate risk."
